tvN’s 20th anniversary special drama “The Second Signal” (hereafter “Signal 2”) has ultimately been dropped from its planned June and summer schedule. Instead, Apple TV+’s series “Pachinko” will be additionally scheduled as a replacement.
However, this does not mean “Signal 2” will never air. tvN is reportedly taking more time to carefully reconsider its scheduling. Industry insiders say the network is still discussing the possibility of broadcasting it later in the second half of the year or toward the end of the year. Since it was planned as part of tvN’s 20th anniversary lineup, they are seriously considering ways to air it within the year.
A tvN official stated on the 17th, “The scheduling for ‘Signal 2’ has not yet been confirmed, and the broadcast timing is also undecided.”
Shin Hye Sun has received an offer to star in the new drama “Dash” and is positively reviewing it. She was offered to play the role of Min Hwa Yeong, the chief prosecutor of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office.
“Dash” is produced by Studio S and is under discussion for a Wednesday–Thursday time slot on SBS in 2027.
He will join Season 2 as a new character, a returning student named Choi Mu Gyu. Choi is a romantic who is sincere in love and does whatever his girlfriend asks, and although he appears boastful on the surface, he also has an unexpected sense of justice, adding energy to the story.
Disney has responded that they’re unable to confirm Won Gyu Bin’s appearance.
However, given the strict confidentiality typical of global OTT platforms regarding casting, this response is being interpreted by some as an acknowledgment.
Won Gyu Bin will reportedly replace Lee Jung Ha and play Kim Bong Seok.
In this new season, many new characters will be introduced, and it is rumored that over 150 actors and production staff gathered at Ilsan KINTEX to hold a full script reading. Won Gyu Bin is also reported to have participated in this script reading.
Meanwhile, Moving 2 has completed its casting and script reading and is now officially in production.
