I just finished the show. I think the 2nd case is by far the best. The 3rd is pretty good too. But the last two are disappointing. The cg on the "giant ghost" was laughable but the plot was ok though predictable. But the last case is just not well-paced or plotted at all. There is also nothing creepy which is what makes the rest of the show good and unique. It is the worst of the five cases by far. I think they'd be better off ending on any of the other cases instead

Wow, they did what they did in original 7 heroes and 5 gallants novel to BYT! No one ever dared do that before!! Even if they undid it in the after-credit, I'm still surprised!

Surprise aside, I honestly think the ending episode is way too rushed and a total cop-out. It left so many things unexplained like what's with the arrow (I'm guessing BYT) or how the leads survived.

The drama was a 9.5 for me until that last few episodes. It became a 9 and now I'm thinking it's more like 8.5. But I love the action and the chemistry... I just wish they'd make one more episode so they can give a proper resolution

I just binged 30-34. I am happy that they have wrapped up the mystery of the four helpers, but I think it’s far too rushed. It’s like they just info dump everything in the episodes with no investigation at all. I miss the pacing from before where the characters follow clues and find the truth/evidence.

It's an easy watch. The pace is fast and the chemistry between cast is good. I don't like the cutesy act the FL puts on, but it's not overly annoying. They rush the ending way too much, but aside from that, this is a good distraction for fans of costume detective dramas.

I'll be there for as many episodes as they want to make too :) I love a good old-fashioned wuxia and will this show when it's done

I agree. The 2nd case is really good. Still predictable but not quite as much. The spooky atmosphere and visuals are great!

I really like the ML too, though I think the supporting cast are a bit weak. All in all, it's shaping up to be a great watch

I just finished episode 29. I like that the current case has to do with ML's past, but there are less than 10 episodes left. They are only about halfway to foiling the main villain - with 2 helpers and ties to the west xia kingdom mentioned but still unknown. I don't see how they can finish the whole story...

Started this while waiting for episodes of Zhan Zhao adventures and Tang Mist. The first episode has Old Fei , Ma Mung and the abbott from strange tales of tang dynasty! Kind of makes me more excited for this show :)

I just finished the 1st case. It is very predictable (to point of no suspense) but the story moves fast and I like the atmosphere a lot. I hope they keep up with the spookiness.

Thanks for the rec! I am out of episodes of Zhan Zhao adventures to watch and just caught 1st episode of Tang Mist. The spooky atmosphere is so like season 1 of strange tales of tang dynasty (which is my favorite of the 3). The plot moves fast and holds my attention. Having this as the other show to watch just made waiting for more episodes of ZZA bearable :)

I don't think there will be enough time. There are 4 helpers and at episode 26, they have not arrested the 2nd yet. After that, they will need to wrap up FL story and the mystery about the linglong eye.

As it is, I am starting to wonder if the show will stop halfway through the whole story with villain thwarted for the time being but still around with 2 helpers left.

That said, I hope I am wrong. I remember one of the old justice bao shows have a case where ZZ goes undercover to infiltrate a vigilante organization named after that deity. But I'm thinking maybe they'll make ZZ an early member before he become a government official instead? It will be great to know :)

I am on episode 25 and I think it’s all comaderie and "found family".

To me, ML is like a big brother to FL and SML and FL is not interested in romance until she can experience the outside world and decides who/what she wants.

But it is clear they care very much about each other. So some might interpret their care as romance (especially with the editing in some of the flashbacks).

I just started ep25. ML is still poisoned?! I thought we're done with that. I mean, he is so good at fighting that he still kicks a** , but still!

That is so funny! BTW, some of young justice bao is on YouTube. They speak mandarin so it's either Taiwanese or mainland (not HK).

I love BYT bow/arrow fight scene. It reminds me of lord of the rings and legolas. So cool!

I think Sun Xing from 1994 Seven Heroes and Five Gallants is still my favorite BYT. He did the proud, impulsive but still super cool and righteous very well. A lot of BYT overdo the pride and willfulness and make the character less sympathetic. His rivalry with ZZ was so much fun to watch. Vincent Chiao used to be my 2nd (because his BYT was fun and playful) but it's Alen Fang now. He is not like the typical BYT. He plays the character as a lot more vulnerable and younger. He is more ZZ 's younger brother than rival. But I just love the cast chemistry and dynamics.

Young justice bao is set when he is still a student (with Gongsun) so ZZ in that series is a child who totally kicks a** and is their body guard
