Yeah! It gets intense towards the end. Lots of action before the happy reconciliation. In the novel it was Zhu because HT annihilated his company. He was doing shady business deals, lost his business, was about to be sentenced. He was out for revenge and knew JX was HT's weakness.

Same here! She is definitely a throne but her actions also push HT to prove his love for JX by protecting her. Later on JX gets kidnapped and he risks his life to come save her.

Yes, I am glad they stayed true to the novel with their break up being about them growing apart and wanting different things in life. It's healthy to end things when you know it won't work out instead of dragging it out until you are both unhappy.
