I’m a huge fan of the original, but putting my bias aside… here’s my opinion on this new adaptation. It…
Mistake in Go Ahead is family bonding was too strong, it make us feel discomfort seeing romance between siblings. When FbC presenting family dynamic not as close as the og, i hope they did it on purpose so we didn't feel discomfort when they introduce romance between the siblings.
But now FbC made their own mistake.
Episode 9-10 feel rushed. Many viewers questioning how Ju-Won set her own shop, and many other things.
"...but i just think this is a sign of her maturity. she learned she needed to be independent."No, maturity means…
Kid is honest. They can freely express their feeling, anytime, anywhere.
Being mature expected being more wise, they expected to read situation and act according to situation. Sure it gonna be grey area, thats the adult world, adult used to tell lies.
Being honest in some situation can considered as rude in adult world. In Ju-Won's case, her honesty considered a cold act, that make entire family vibe awkward.
you mean the time jump? cause that also happened in the OG
if you compared to og, the transition is slower. We know JianJian's struggle with her brothers communication up to the point they don't know what to talk and become distant and more distant. As for JianJian's career, the og also explained it better. That is why time jump in FbC felt really like actual time jump, so many audience questioning how Ju-Won set her own cake shop.
I'm confused, did Kang Hae Jun's character drop out of uni in the c version? Why does everyone get to succeed…
ZiQiu dropped from college because his biological father demand ZiQiu to recognize him as father, and change ZiQiu surname. (But another user have corrected me, that ZiQiu never drop college. My apologize for incorrect information, i watched long time ago. You better watch it yourself.)
ZiQiu keep rebelling against his bio father request, then his bio father stop to fund ZiQiu 's education in England, so ZiQiu work to sustain his live. He collected his money and set a shop in his hometown, so i can say he is kinda success.
JianJian also successfully set up her own business. She built her fame since highschool, she found her confident in art, goes to art school, then set her own studio with her senior. Idk what happen to Ju-Won.
As for Hae-Jun, seems he hide his true wealth, idk if he rich or just above average. There is scene he is about rent or buy a building for Ju-Won's father.
"...but i just think this is a sign of her maturity. she learned she needed to be independent."No, maturity means…
Sure, if there is only San-Ha or Hae-Jun, but there are also both fathers. Both fathers who missed their son, it's not reunion of Ju-Won with her brothers, but reunion of fathers and sons.
Matured Ju-Won should read situation and hold herself better.
i love the pace of this drama, it's refreshing and lovely. everyone seems to be disappointed in the time-skip…
"...but i just think this is a sign of her maturity. she learned she needed to be independent."
No, maturity means she can hold herself better. On many occasions she expressively channel her passive-aggressive and made the situation awkward. It's when in the police station and when dining at home, she left and ruin the other's mood of reunion.
I can understand if she still trying to adapt to sudden situation, but call it sign of maturity is not.
Isn't it normal for kids to move out from their parents house when they become older? and ig the place she lives…
Ju-Won's father also mentioned that Ju-Won is really busy recently, so they hardly can communicate. Ju-Won also less interested celebrating her birthday at home. Well, both father have feeling empty because they lose the sons, now Ju-Won also acted cold and like she is live far away, but Ju-Won complained to Hae-Jun it made her kinda hypocrite.
Tbh, many things i can complain from recent episodes, that make me less enjoy this show.
Isn't it normal for kids to move out from their parents house when they become older? and ig the place she lives…
Not weird as awkward, it felt something off. It fell flat, doesn't hit me emotionally. I can't describe better because either it rushed, or deep inside my mind i compared it to Go Ahead.
Seems Ju-Won live on the other part of her hometown, or maybe neighboor town. So far it's just guess game. Ju-Won and her dad only have each other, that is why i curious to know her reason other than distance.
I'm happy for everyone who enjoy this show. Wish you all have good time.
Their separation didn't feels like 10 years. Family reunion feels weird. Friends reunion feels like strangers randomly hang around. Then San-Ha confess her feelings seems out of place. We didn't really see development of Ju-Won and her effort to move on from her brothers untill she have her own shop.
Hope the showmaker will tell why Ju-Won live separated from his father, thorough 8 episode i feel Ju-Won's dad are closer to Hae-Jun rather than her own daugther. Ju-Won love her family but why she choose live separated? Too much memories with her brothers?
And what she did with Hae-Jun's watch?
We got a glimpse why Hae-Jun rent a house, not living in his childhood house with Ju-Won. But i didn't see the reason for Ju-Won and San-Ha, i wish the showmaker make a make sense reason for that. San-Ha and Hae-Jun renting the same building as Ju-Won's seems naturally coincidence, it will be cheesy if the showmaker reveal later that it's not a coincidence.
The only nice thing from episode 9 and 10 is Hae-Jun and Park Dal. We can clearly see Hae-Jun's motivation is always his dad. Probably Hae-Jun chemistry with his dad and Hae-Jun relationship with Park Dal is better than the main couple.
If they make it like childhood friends turned to lover, they shouldn't spent 8 episodes for teenage timeline. The family bonding didn't feel really close, so when they got separated it less emotional. So better they spend more episode in adult timeline anyway.
Their adult vibe seems more better than teenage timeline, but finger crossed. Let see what is there in next episodes.
I am starting to watch episode 9 now. Sanha is a bit too harsh to Juwon. He should have made an effort to explain…
"San-Ha should have made an effort to explain to Ju-Won better why he needed to leave so she could understand. "
the showmaker will make it dramatic later when Ju-Won learned than San-Ha didn't live really well in Seoul. Maybe it's the plot device to turn Ju-Won's heart from stranger-cold to romance, maybe.
But now FbC made their own mistake.

tbh at this point it's impossible not to compare it with Go Ahead. Up to this points, Go Ahead were miles better.
I have low expectation with the remake so i can enjoy it, but still this remake can't meet my expectation.
As for JianJian's career, the og also explained it better. That is why time jump in FbC felt really like actual time jump, so many audience questioning how Ju-Won set her own cake shop.
And many other things also raised questions.

Seems So-Hee is siding with San-Ha.

Brush Up Life also light drama, slow but cheer.
Somehow, Joo Eun Ho and Jung Hyeon O reunite and help cure each other's wounds.
Its already spoiled in the synopsis.
