It's my third times watching this drama. Added Romance on the Farm to my comfort list. Can we have season 2 please?
A season 2 would be great. They left a cliffhanger for that. However, I did not understand the ending. She went back as if the game had ended - she dropped the last taels in the box. However, she later joined the game again with the last taels still outside. So, someone else dropped them in the box, or somehow she pulled them out in order to return? That got me confused but it can be a cliffhanger for a S2.
Great series. Very good production, direction, screenplay, acting and soundtrack. It has very humorous moments well balanced with romance and others that brought rage. Really good and worth watching.
Superb. This drama is almost a documentary. Excellent screenwriting, acting, direction, production and soundrack. Great snapshot of China's development and the population struggles. I'll definitely rewatch it.
I was also curious about it. I saw two possibilities. He was a spirit and did not know, or she transformed him to save his life. Remember he was using that special pearl she used before to (also) save his life when he was a kid.
Fun short series. Clearly low budget, but still did a good entertainment job. Some good acting mixed with mediocre ones, but good enough for it. I watched it while taking a break from other ones with a heavier script and it was worth it.
I watched this part. Can someone tell me the sequence of the parts? Is there a second season?
I don't think so. Almost all main characters died and did not had descendents. Therefore, I don't see a good cliffhanger to continue the story. Might be better start another from scratch.
This was a good drama in general. Good acting and production. However... (if interested see spoiler)
The final episodes were a big WTF. What was the writer and prodction trying to achieve, how to get sainthood? For example: The bad guy's son was a cry-baby POS whose only achievements were asking for forgiveness while crying. A complete useles crap. And the little sister always forgiving him? She deserved what she got, and even worse. Also, the bad guys suddenly got enlightened and decided to surrender to the police, and despide the horrendous crimes, just got slaps on the wrists? Good grief. That spoiled the whole series like dropping a few drops of bad orange juice in a full jar and spoiling the whole thing. This series deserved a better ending.
This drama would have been a total trainwreck if it wasn't for Zhao Lu Zi, who wasn't on her top like in Love Like the Galaxy and Who Rules the World. Probably the director was really bad, because the acting in general was bad. The male lead is a lost cause. I have yet to watch a drama where he is worth his salt. The screenwriting was also bad, resorting to too many flashbacks that became very monotonous, like the first half of this drama. The first 15 episodes are just waste of time. Things are only worth watching after ep 20.
Like several others of this genre, this series ended up too long. Could have been at least five or six episodes shorter. Maybe the screenwriter wanted to be too close to the book? Also, that Fatty, like his counterparts in other similar series was beyond annoying. Someone probably wanted his character to be funny, but it was just annoying. Anyway, the writer spent too much time in some scenes trying to put too much detail and the dialogues were simply too long and boring. The overall concept is very good, but the Chinese must improve this genre's screenwriting.
If they are looking at Hollywood for guidance, they are literally screwed. That Netflix remake of 3 Body Problem was a disaster and I could not go beyond part of episode 2. The Crash Landing on You original series was great and Koreans should keep their identity, which made their movies and series original and very entertaining, instead of trying to partner with declining politically-correct studios rotting into oblivion. Netflix has been losing subscribers like crazy here in the US; therefore, not a good one to guide.
Is there a love triangle in this drama? Also when does the female lead stop bullying the male elad cause im on…
There were a few, but all were gracefully resopved. No sick obsession that leads to self-destruction like in some dramas. Ine had a sad end and two had happy endings. However, the happy ending ones were a bit childish. But, I guess that for this drama's overall style, they are OK.
Entertaining drama with some funny moments. Good acting in general, direction and production. However, at the end the writer went a bit overboard and it looked more like a party between the series' crew and actors. I guess they wanted everyone feeling good. Worth watching.
