like literally two episodes before you have ban xia crying to xuan ye that she will follow him if he leaves again that she prefers spending the rest of her life as a beggar than being without him just for them to voluntarily separate at the end? i expected something like pirates of the caribbean 3 where will and elizabeth can only meet one day every ten years or some shit and the epilogue is her bringing their child to meet him for the first time not for them to essentially just say goodbye and that be it
i would have accepted it if they ended it with her memory being gone and it being framed as a tragic sacrifice xuan ye made for her to have a better life without demons but to make her remember everything and have them still not end up together seems kinda pointless idk
just saw the clip of the kiss scene they cut from the show where she's kissing him first and he's clenching his fists trying to hold back but he eventually gives in and pulls her into his arms ugh so beautiful WHY DID THEY CUT IT
