I'm loving it too, you're not alone! It's next to Extraordinary You as my favorite currently-airing drama, they're the one's I'm looking forward to every week.
I find it kinda weird that the same people ripping into this drama for the comedy are the same people who adore strong woman do bong soon.. they're basically the same.
I don't like how the writer is treating the SFL story. What is writer trying to do with this character? It's painful…
The SFL exists to add angst for the male lead and later on the main couple. (It seems like it was suggested that she was the one who leaked there was a second participant in the experiment.) It's a very typical "use" for a SFL.
I understand why he is more mad at her than the boss though. It's not surprising the boss would try to cover it up to save his own job. But she was his lover. Of all the people who knew, she should have been the one to try to find him and instead she took a higher position in exchange for covering it up. That's a huge betrayal.
Also, I don't think he already has eyes on Go Mi Ran. It seems that he is slowly developing feelings for her, but doesn't recognize them for what they are. Right now, he feels responsible for screwing up her life and her health, he said so as much at the police station. He's feeling a lot of guilt and a desire to take responsibility and do what he can to help her, and then the occasional "oh, she's kinda pretty when she smiles" and "oh, the way she's fascinated by the phone is kinda cute" are starting to sneak in.
I'm really enjoying it. The comedy is cringe (like strong woman do bong soon), but you kinda get used to it. I like the characters and I feel like the story is getting better with each episode.
Yoon Se Ah might have gone under surgery so many times she can't deliver 1 facial expression correctly :
god she always looks like she's afraid or in pain, she was supposed to be having that serious conversation at the end with dong chan about their love but her facial expressions were soooo off
dan oh and haru were main leads in a different manhwa (probably a historical since it seemed like he was expecting her to remember the waterfall and that old building) and that's why he was so drawn to her, literally drawing her, and they have the special power to change the storyboard. i think the writer is the dried squid fairy dude, and he was the second lead in that other manhwa and somehow wrote them into this one where they were separated and that's why he has all the knowledge about their world and is so against dan oh trying to find a way to change it. (if he's not the writer, he's involved somehow. i'm getting super sketchy vibes from him)
My biggest questions: 1. What are those portal things? 2. What caused dan oh to suddenly become aware?
i like it. the comedy is kinda cringe-cheesy, but i see from you're list that you rated strong woman do bong soon really high. swdbs and melting me softly are from the same writer so the comedy is very similar
i don't understand why people are hating this drama so hard. yeah the comedy is cringe, but the story and the characters are interesting and fun. ji chang wook and won jin ah are doing fantastic. the drama isn't groundbreaking, but it's not nearly as awful as people are making it out to be in the comments here.
