Unless they make episodes 16,17, and 18 bollywood movie long, I don't even know how they are going to wrap it…
i have been asking myself the same question. 18 episodes in no way does justice to what they were trying to do here. and on top of it, why did they bother to split it into three parts when the format is the same as every other drama - continuous. it literally did nothing for the story
also who decided that developing saya and tanya like that and then having her run back to eun som when they haven't…
Yes!!! oh, thank god i'm not alone! they introduced so many sub-plots that they didn't go deeper into at all, things that had potential to be their own seasonal arcs, so now they're just there. and because of the lack of build-up, any "epic" ending they try to do is going to fall so flat. there is no way this will end without disappointment, especially since the villain is the only character in the entire story that has received adequate character development.
and i'm so mad about the horse! they introduced this magic creature that isn't just a major symbol but is super powerful by itself, and now he's just wandering the countryside somewhere. mubaek and eun som weren't the only ones to see the horse, others in the daekan force saw the horse too. you think they would have at the very least reported it back to tagon who would have wanted aramun's horse for himself since he's pretending to be the god and all. this is a mythical horse that showed up with physical witnesses and everyone just FORGOT! And can you picture the greatness that would have been eun som having the horse by his side as he ventures throughout the land, and people slowly having the same realization mubaek did that eun som is the reincarnation of aramun haesulla and bit by bit gathering more supporters in each land as he makes his way back to arthdal to overthrow the fake god sitting on an illegitimate throne?
but no, the only character that matters in tagon apparently.
also who decided that developing saya and tanya like that and then having her run back to eun som when they haven't…
seriously, xabara and the momo tribe were so cool and the writers just like skipped their whole subplot today! and why does eun som suddenly have a mark on his back? it took them days to get to doldanbul or whatever that slave camp was, are they just gonna teleport to arthdal when it's time to overthrow tagon? why are the slave buddies going to go to jubinol for their own subplot adventure when they're supposed to be the people eun som has been gathering as a part of his quest for power to save the wahans? are they gonna dethrone the fake god in a single episode? are tanya and eun som just going to kill saya because his morals make him irredeemable? speaking of saya, he was super into tanya as the direct decendant of asa sin and her mysterious powers last season, but now he's just there for decoration. it makes zero sense for his character to just accept that she can read minds and not try to do more with it. or at least try to figure out what else she can do.
they introduced like 4 seasons worth of plots and characters for an 18 episode series. what does that leave us with? a shallow story and undeveloped characters. my biggest pet peeve is wasted potential and oh this is the worst i've seen in a while
the writing and pacing is a mess. i don't understand how they're going to wrap up everything with only three episodes…
also who decided that developing saya and tanya like that and then having her run back to eun som when they haven't had a scene together since like episode 2 was a good idea? like i get that they're close and he's basically her motivation for her (underdeveloped) plot for power, but also saya and tanya had a really good friendship going. the writers established that the three of them would be important together, and it should end with the three of them together, but from this last episode it looks like they're going to drop saya. one episode of eun som and tanya vs the entirety of part two for saya and tanya, which one is going to make viewers more invested? we're just supposed to accept that tanya and eun som are endgame because they were introduced as childhood friends before the story started? isn't the most basic rule of writing "show don't tell"?
not to mention, there are only three episodes left, and eun som and saya still don't know about each other. they should have been reunited at the beginning of part 3 so there could be a subplot developing their relationship as brothers. Realization, denial, conflict because of how different they are, acceptance, learning their differences, identifying the weird similarities they've had since birth, character development as they influence each other, exploring their shared dreams. we could have had all of that, but nOoOoOo, the only character that matters is tagon.

What's the point of eun soms character, he never has longer than 5 minutes screen time.
i know right? what's the point of establishing his character as a god and then making him a captive for over half the series
*the writer's room* 1: but sir! what should we do with this guy we made a god and gave super-human strength? how does he fit into arthdal? 2: arthal isn't ready for him. just send him away and make him a slave. 1: sir! we made him a slave and freed him, he's good to go back to arthdal and be the god we created him to be! 2: ta gon isn't king yet, capture him again. 1: but he has super-human strength? does it make sense for him to be restrained the entire show? 2: shhhhh, nobody will notice because we won't give him the screen time.
Yh. I only care about Eun Som tbh but he doesn't really get as much screen time as I'd expected/hoped he would.
that's what i've been saying since part one! they established him as the reincarnation of a god in the first two episodes of the show and then didn't go anywhere with it! it's bad writing.
Exactly like the amount of scenes of tagon and taealha and mihol and as ron is 80% of the story which is annoying,…
i know right! and then they sacrificed eun som's screen time in part 2 to build saya up as this super important person, but he's had like a grand total of six minutes of screen time these past two episodes. they're not building up any of the other characters (the more interesting ones imo) that they have introduced nearly as much as they build up tagon and it's so annoying.
too much tagon. the other parts of the story aren't being developed enough, and there's only four episodes left. i don't see how this can end without it seeming incredibly rushed...
i completely agree, both of the main characters are so inconsistent. they didn't characterize chan sung at all,…
yes that's exactly it! they need to have a baseline set for his character before they start developing it and they skipped right over setting a baseline! as someone who holds character development as the most important thing in a story, i'm having a really hard time getting passed this.
and i completely agree, i've seen other hong sisters dramas so i know they are talented, but this drama doesn't seem to be coming from that experience. which really sucks because i went into this drama with high hopes because i've liked their other ones. it's almost like they're trying to relive the glory of the master's sun but are falling short.

i don't want his whole backstory fleshed out, they showed enough of him as a kid to understand why he has to work at the hotel, but they literally didn't give any time for the viewers to adjust to him as an adult before continuing with the story and it was jarring

also, wtf happened to eun som's magic horse??????
