i don't want his whole backstory fleshed out, they showed enough of him as a kid to understand why he has to work at the hotel, but they literally didn't give any time for the viewers to adjust to him as an adult before continuing with the story and it was jarring

i completely agree, both of the main characters are so inconsistent. they didn't characterize chan sung at all, they suddenly showed him as an adult in a job interview joking about this superstition his dad had and within a minute it's taken from him and he's thrown into a mess. like who is this guy? what's he like? what are his hopes? his values? i see some similarities to seo ji sub's character in the master's sun but with less personality. his reactions are all over the place, but i can't tell if that's his fault or the writing. they barely know each other yet all of the sudden the writers are developing the characters and their relationship but they haven't even finished the exposition. are people watching the same drama because i really don't get what everyone sees as groundbreaking?

i love yeo jin goo as an actor but he's barely 22 and his character is supposed to be around 30 and an experienced businessman it's so hard to believe

i feel like neither of the leads suit their characters, they're just so awkward and unconvincing and i can't tell if it's just because they don't fit or if it's because the script is cheesy too

there are a lot of gay actors that play straight characters, as long as their acting is good it's not a problem. hell, i've seen gay people in straight kisses that had more chemistry than some straight ones.

i was more surprised because he has always been in my top ranks for "best kiss scenes" and i remember watching a behind the scenes of fall in love with me where he just kept kissing the lead actress so i didn't expect it at all lol

First impressions: I kept telling myself to go in with an open mind because they would have to change large parts of the drama to adapt it to the Korean government. Despite that, there are some things I would have done differently. I really wish they kept the base characters the same--i.e. they made Park Moo Jin more clumsy than I would have liked. They spent way to much time in the flashback before the explosion and imo spent too long characterizing people who wouldn't even live through the first episode. It felt like a waste of time made worse because the drama is a good half-hour longer than the original run-time. I'm still keeping an open mind because the first episode is just the exposition, but what really drew me in about the original is how fast-paced and chaotic everything was. It really set the mood for what was happening and kept viewers on their toes. I missed that here.

such a mood. i love the drama so much but that car "kiss" scene is yikes

as much as i love ocn dramas and highly recommend them, if you're looking for something stress free i suggest look away from any drama with "hell" in the title

this is my most anticipated drama of the year and it has to start the same time as classes ugh i feel bad wishing september would come sooner, couldn't you have aired during the summer!!
