am i the only one disappointed by the story progression? eun som is supposed to be the most important person in this world, he is the reincarnation of a god for christ's sake, yet everything he's done the past like three episodes has been insignificant. he's not getting anything done: he meets with the chick in her hut thing, they plan, he executes, he fails, and repeat with very little screen time. like i know it's unrealistic for him to save them all right away and they all lived happily ever after, but couldn't they have changed it up a bit?
at least it seems like we'll get more of his story next week, finally..
So we finally get to see the other twin...so excited n sad bc i feel one of the will die ..n did not expect Tagon…
i feel like the girl helping eun som is hiding something about igutus too. why else does she have such a radically different opinion, and then she got all flustered when eun som confronted her about it
why do people get so pissed every time someone has slight criticisms about this drama? stop disregarding people's valid opinions as them just being "haters cause it's not a romance blah blah blah" like shut up
I agree it doesn't have that hooked factor. This show has so much potential but sloppy writing and editing is…
i completely agree about the hooked factor. the pacing could be so much better. i feel like this needed much more organization in editing + they're trying to do too much. a high fantasy drama is innovative enough for korean dramas, trying to do multiple seasons on top of that was too much.
i'm very conflicted about this drama. it had so much potential, has a very interesting story, and is entertaining, but i feel like there's still something missing... i'd say it definitely suits the rating mdl has listed for it now.
woahh ep 3 & 4 the run time was Infinite it wasn't finishing I had a hard time to complete watching the eps, the…
you know, normally i would think it's because jang dong gun is a big name, they probably paid a lot for his appearance and are trying to make use of the money they spent, but i can't imagine song joong ki was cheap to cast either..
idk if it's because i'm already quite familiar with the fantasy genre or if i'm just being picky, but i feel like…
yeah you can have incredibly complex villains, too bad that's not the case here. so far ta gon is just a power hungry psychopath. the only two interesting "villains" imo are mubaek, who i'm pretty sure was left out of episode four completely, and taealha who seemed pretty layered until they diminished her character into "i'm doing this for him because i love him"

yeah but when it comes to high fantasy, sometimes you have to lay a lot out on a plate or it becomes too hard to understand. politics, religious beliefs, etc. it's the basics of world building, which the drama severely lacked. leaving bread crumbs so viewers can theorize about the plot is completely different.
and yeah it would be great if they explored the rest of the world throughout the show, but they can't do a good job doing that without having a well established base-setting
this was my number two anticipated drama of the year. i didn't go into the show looking for faults, they screamed at me from the screen
i've been saying this in different areas of the comments but the writers and directors didn't organize the story…
i like good politics in a drama, i just feel like however theyre trying to split the drama up (3 seasons of 6 episodes or whatever it is they're trying) hurt the pacing. I am enjoying this drama a lot, but i think it would have been so much better if it was longer and they had more time to really explore and build up the world; its history, religion(!), politics, geography, etc. Especially because the world that they've created is so fascinating.
me too, that tanya scene today was the best so far in the drama, i can't wait to see what her character becomes. (+they ended ep 4 on such a cliff hanger, i need to know how it ends omg)
maybe they just took from inspiration from The Legend? I haven't seen it myself so I don't know how similar arthdal chronicles is, but i wouldn't be surprised if the writers borrowed from the story/myth when they were creating this world
I dislike historical dramas a lot. English movies and tv programs that are similar to this wouldn't even get a…
i wouldn't really classify this as historical, or at least in the normal sense. when dramas are typically classified as historical it's because they take place in a real time in real human history. i'd say it's more high fantasy
