Some woke people are pissed for no reason so maybe that's why.
Oh, I think you're absolutely right! 2% is probably decent (they even hit 3% with the second episode) but it doesn't compare to a popular romance drama (Hometown Cha-cha-cha is apparently hitting a steady 9/10% 😮). I saw that the viewership of Hometown had been decreasing since the 2nd episode (but who knows viewership is fickle, we might see an increase next week again). I really enjoyed the first episode tho: a bit of a slow build-up but I'm curious where this is going now that we've explored some background info! One thing is clear, I agree that this is not much of a mind-numbing-watch-after-work show, lol!

The TV ratings in Korea also hit an all time low with the last episode (a meager two percent nationwide) so I'm highly doubting this only has to do with the problematic history of the writer! My guess is that these types of shows always appeal to a smaller, quite niche audience anyway. Since it needs to compete with more easily digestible romantic comedies, it needs to be prove itself quite early on in the episodes for people not to drop it (and give mediocre ratings). That being said, I'm about to watch the first episode and I still have high hopes! ☺️

Unnecessary romance subplot and a somewhat anti-climatic ending but, apart from that, no dull moment with this sequel!

You haven't known true suffering until you've experienced waiting for foreign shows to get subbed lol. It's been 3 weeks now and still no sight of any English subs beyond ep 6. Can't wait for this to get updated!

If blandness were a show it'd be this. I don't have much to say about the plot and the characters apart from that both were just alarmingly average. And while the show wasn't necessarily bad, it's definitely one of those stories that you will forget the very minute you've finished watching it. Everything is straightforward and predictable: you could literally start watching any random episode without any prior knowledge and you'd be able to predict the while plot (was there even any?). Also, I think I've seen the exact getting-hurt-while-playing-football-scene and drunken-main-character-scene recycled a bit too often over the span of only 10 episodes. Were the screenwriters really that uninspired that they had to make a show that basically consists of 5 identical repeating scenes? There was literally nothing memorable about this series and, yet, because it was so inoffensively bland, I didn't outright hate it either.

People need to realise celebrities can be talented AND have shitty personalities at the same time. Her actions do not deminish her obviously well-honed acting skill and her impressive filmography. That being said, I'm not impressed by the fact that, apparently, she'll be facing no real repercussions for her actions, nor am I particularly interested in the plot of this show itself, so I'll be skipping this one. I don't doubt the quality of the production but it's just ironic to me that she'll be acting in a show that literally has "scandal" in its title... 💀 Girlie really stayed true to character, huh.

That second trailer actually looks way more noir and mature than the first one they released! So excited they are going into that direction!

There is only so much you can do in 18 minutes but this just wasn't it for me. The film wasn't necessarily bad-- the premise, cinematography and acting were all okay considering the director is still a student himself-- it's just that I see no real purpose for the existence of the movie. For a message that is supposed to be about courage and self discovery, more background information about the main character would have been needed to make the plot truly engaging. What drives the main character to write a story about the orgy subculture? Why is he afraid to engage? What is the deciding moment that makes him overcome his fear? Are we, as the audience, meant to see the orgy merely as a rite of passage into manhood? It's ironic that these questions are left unanswered because the main character literally has an entire conversation about story arcs in the film itself. The symbolism of the pool is also a bit cliché and feels unnecessarily forced (plunge into the unknown depths) for an otherwise superficial plot. Besides a clever title, there is nothing exceptional about this movie.

A wonderful depiction of emotional vulnerability and isolation amidst buzzing urban life, shot with uncanny realism and minimalism. I could probably write an entire essay analyzing the director's cinematic use of repetition and silence to portray the perpetual loneliness, alienation, and desire for connection that is central to the main character's life but-- let's be real-- I'm just here to let y'all know I'm still shooketh about that third nipple.

On Color Rush Season 2 Aug 30, 2021
Heck yes! There was so much left unexplored last season with the missing mom so a sequel is most definitely welcome. The screenwriter's got a difficult task tho: topping a well-received show with characters who have already established a relationships is no easy task (especially since the romance took up most of the plot during the previous season). The strength of the first season lied in its ability to focus on relationship building rather than trying to force multiple storylines at once. Maybe we'll get more suspense and mystery this time around? (And maybe they'll even get around to fixing that horrible cakey makeup too? Prayers are needed, xoxo) Hope this will turn out just as great as its predecessor!

Just finished the first two episodes and it pains me this is only a miniseries! I'm a huge sucker for dark, atmospheric plotlines and this definitely looks like a hidden gem. Considering each episode is only 5 minutes, I'm guessing they had to work around a limited budget but, dang, that is not at all visible in the cinematography. Both colour grading and camera angles are great and I gotta love that electronic background music (hit me up if you know the OST). The director already managed to set up a convincing world and main character despite the limited screen time (no dialogue is wasted) so I can't wait to see where this is going!

On Witch's Romance Aug 28, 2021
This is exactly what a solid romantic comedy is supposed to look like: straightforward and unproblematic (that is: no romanticization of abusive relationships, just a good ol' love triangle). That being said, apart from the well-known actors, there is nothing surprising or exceptional about this drama. We get what we are promised: a lighthearted, fluffy romance. Nothing more, nothing less. I always think these type of plots fare better as movies since they could be easily condensed in 1.5 hours if you remove all the filler.
