Like for real, if there's no chance to make another season just give the fans the ending they deserve. It just feels as a wishful thinking from the makers, hoping their drama will be a hit so the fans gather up to petition for s2 or whatever.

The timeline changed, the child Yixiang decided against going to taipei and being adopted (hence the name change) because he got the letters from Tianyu through the magic letter box. So he didn't join the gang, didn't meet adult Tianyu so he didn't have any memories of adult tianyu. He kept his old name.
