HJae: "of course I'll be good to you mom!" YJae: "what do you mean you will be good to mom? do you think you'll be better than me?" he is already better than you! how can you even raise your voice when you are running away from your promised wife and your parents and asking for a shelter in the house of your YOUNGER brother?!!!
HaeJ: "here he is, dolt again! shouldn't he call me after an argument? yes! there was a cancellation and we can be married at the end of the month!" only stupid people think like that! you are in the middle of an argument with your fiance, he didn't call you back and you even had an argument with the 2 families! if I was you, I would be wondering if this marriage is a good idea. because you are marrying a dolt, and he will be a dolt until the last day. people don't change their personality, on the contrary, they tend to worsen while aging.
don't agree at all, i'm glad she was honest with herself and she seems to have no regrets after time passes and…
I don't agree with you, and here is why: when you experience that kind of scene: ep11, min34, sec10; that means you no longer feel love or anything else, but trauma. this is trauma bonding, and when it happens in a relationship, it means this relationship has become unhealthy, toxic.
when you are young, you tend to mistake trauma bonding with love. but when growing up, from the moment you meditate enough about yourself, you can understand that anytime you reacted like yumi, you lost a lot afterwards. a lot!
proof is, love cell quit at this time. it wasn't love answer, it was sensitivity answer. and you cannot take good decision when listening to your sensitivity. you'll take coward decision, because sensitivity is a coward personality.
if she was being truthful to herself, she would have feel that her love for babi was gone. and yumi is 30 yo at least, she should be mature enough to know her own self that much. trauma bonding is devastating in younger population. you must understand it and get rid of it as fast as possible. to a man who makes me cry, I say goodbye no matter how nice the relationship is (or seems to be).
I am a little disappointed about babi... he put the house for sell and wants to move out just because of the intern family living close? really? I wasn't anxious about that before he did so, now I am disappointed. you cannot run away from temptation. temptation is never outside but inside oneself. if your only shield is to fly away that means you have no control on your own life and no control over your emotions. that means, you are a player. if one day you have no way out of uncomfortable situation, this day you will fall. so, babi isn't perfect after all.
At the risk of offending some, I won’t try to excuse the Dolt’s behavior but I’d like to offer an explanation…
hi drama fan! this lead me to understand an other common trait between you and HaeJ: you two take things way too far! the risk is, when trying too much, you are going to ruin everything.
my favorite dramas are the ones depicting strong women. and HaeJ is not strong at all. she is an immature and frightened little girl. and all her bad behaviors and errors come from that: she is afraid of being rejected, she is afraid of being criticize, and that's why she lies and manipulates so much the people around her. just saying.
for the rest, I like your passion. I am the passionate kind too, and you beat me on this. it's nice reading how hard you back up your favorites characters. <3
It’s very clear that you don’t like her; but to be honest this example you’re using is not quite black and…
I watched the scene again, and you are right, YJae agreed, even suggested something similar. if other readers want to check, it's the beginning of episode 12. but that's still not enough to justify the way she presented the situation to her in law. that's my point of view.
while searching for this scene I came up with another one where she lied again and manipulate the truth in order to look better than she is... again. episode 16, 41min05sec. in the scene HJae tells something very meaningful about HaeJ: YOU ONLY COUGH UP THE TRUTH WHEN CONFRONTED. which means, he knows her very well!
the truth is: 1- she was jealous because she was in love with YJae and was afraid he could find an other (better) partner on the TV show. 2- she was offered a spot on the dating show as well. but she didn't want to go because she wanted YJae.
and see by yourself HOW she manipulate HJae and pressure him not to reveal the truth to others.
@deidra Thanks for pointing out that it was HaeJun who suggested the casual dating,, I've forgotten. I've seen…
thank you! I learned how to spot a narcissistic person and I am very happy I spotted her despite her so called "sympathetic" personality. I don't know where this is going though. because I am quite sure the writer didn't create this on purpose. if the writer's intention is to model the 1st son's couple as a perfect one, it's a big fail. if this is on purpose, that means there will be only 1 marriage at the end of the show: HJae and MRae's one.
It’s very clear that you don’t like her; but to be honest this example you’re using is not quite black and…
I understand your feelings: you like her. BUT liking doesn't mean you have to indulge everything or most things. SHE DID ASK, NOT HIM.
my point is: if she had done that with me, I would have been mad and disappointed. if my lover did that to me, badmouth me before my own parents, I would be very disappointed, and certainly reconsider the marriage. being honest and telling the ugly true is something irreplaceable, FOR ME.
I can understand that my priorities are not yours, but she did lie in order to win the mother in law's affection. you can say that's not a big deal, but when you see KAe's reaction, when she heard about that, YOU KNOW that's a big deal. even HJae, the middle brother, was chocked when his brother told him.
so, your choice, my choice, let's agree to disagree.
I’m so sick of Mi Rae /Hyung Jae couple and their family dramas.
I love MRae and HJae. and I hate what everybody is throwing at them, expecting them to solve every one else's problems...
HJae has become my new male model for romantic relationships. I won't compromise for anything less than that from now on. I am very thankful to the writer of this show for that!
Didn't KyungAe lose her mother at a young age too? And yet she was grateful to be accepted into the Lee family…
I understand KAe. yuna was nice and considerate, she didn't need more information to take her in the family. JaeH made an awful first impression, so she needs to check more things before making a decision. actually, if she still search for more info, that means she is considerate, because she didn't close the dialogue because of her guts' reaction.
Hae-jun being a little inconsiderate and arrogant these past few episodes. why should dentist bro shift with her?…
I feel exactly the same.
yuna and sjae are done. getting them together again doesn't make sens with the reasons they split up. I would find it very pedagogic if the writer explains that in a romantic relationship some things cannot be done, because you won't be able to overcome them. every young people does 1 or 2 of them before being mature and understand what a relationship is.
I don't like HaeJ, so I see all the bad stuffs she throws out every time she speaks... she is a narcissist. she hides it (like all narcissists), but it is there if you know what to watch.
the actress playing jin-ju: I wouldn't say hot. but she is pretty, that's clear. and a very good actress when you hear the watchers reactions! hahaha!
I know that the mean stream's thought on this site is to love the first son's couple. but it's not my case. and there are so many reasons for that ! I just wonder why nobody else seems to see them!
last episode's thing: HaeJ lied to her mother in law. she said that YJae was the one who proposed to date casually, and that is why she screamed in the elevator. but, we know that is not the reality. she was the one who proposed the casual dating because she didn't want to miss the opportunity of seducing YJae. he didn't even know that was a thing! and now his own mother thinks that her 40 years old son is the kind of man who has the nerve to propose casual dating to a 42 yo woman...
changing reality in order to make it meet your own - selfish - agenda has a name: narcissism. I really despise HaeJ.
HaeY who imposes herself at the lunch between HJae and his mother! He kept telling her that he needs to speak to his mother, but she insisted! this woman! selfish to the core! she just take care of her own agenda and doesn't care about others! the more I know her, the more I despise her!
and then the banchan discussion comes again! so now they're just planning to steal HJae's food forever! and don't tell me this is normal in family relationship, because nobody does that arround me. I know NO ONE getting his/her food from someone else's fridge.
the family meeting: here she is pulling YJae so firmly inside the private room that he ended up riping his outfit. and while he was outside trying to solve the problem she created, here she is urging him to come back as soon as possible because she cannot manage the elders by herself...
Kyung Ae must be delusional. How can she say Hae Jun is marrying up when Hae Jun has a company, a house, a car…
remember the parents set up their boys because they wanted grand-children. HaeJ is 42 yo. and she works a lot, and as a CEO she'll probably not be able to stop because of her responsibility. having at least 1 child will be difficult. it would have been different if YJae had chosen a woman 5 years younger.
for this only reason HaeJ would have had hard time finding a man to marry her. that's exactly what her brother and her sister in law told her: "what's the point on marrying now when you are already too old for all the "good' stuffs?". it's upsetting but it's the Korean reality.
on the other side, YJae is still young enough to have a child (yes, sterility happens to men too with age, but in a lighter way). he has a good job and everybody doesn't know he is indebted. you remember the journalist with the bachelor show? if a woman aim for an older man, YJae is a very good choice. that's why HaeY didn't dare letting him go to this show, and she lied and manipulate everyone. she knew he would find better than her very fast.
I am not saying I am ok with that. I am saying that's understandable.
Stop your hyperbole, they've shown him buy her food plenty of times, this time it's because he noticed how down…
that's exactly my point. when HaeJ or YJae have a problem, they both go to HJae. and that is NOT natural because the 2 of them ask for eldest respect, but the big brother here is HJae. they are taking advantage of him all the time. you can say that you love them both anyway, but you must recognize that without HJae they both would be in a huge mess. so I'll hyperbole all my content about my favorite character, because he deserves at least that much.
ep 30 HJae is so big of a person! having his older brother pass by and steal his food e-ve-ry-time and taking it with so much patience! that amazes me! I just don't understand why people love the older brother's couple so much! if you take HJae out of the equation neither HaeJ nor YJae would be able to continue their life with as much comfort. HaeJ is leaning on him for mental support, solving personal issues and keeping her firm healthy, and without his little brother YJae is just an old baby not even able to BUY FOOD for his girlfriend... really! HJae is the superman of this drama! and I am just so happy he found himself a so cute and kind partner in MR!
HJae: "of course I'll be good to you mom!"
YJae: "what do you mean you will be good to mom? do you think you'll be better than me?"
he is already better than you! how can you even raise your voice when you are running away from your promised wife and your parents and asking for a shelter in the house of your YOUNGER brother?!!!

ladies and gentlemen, the 1st son's couple!
