ep 42 I liked this episode and I finally find pleasant sensations when I watch the drama.
1- the grandfather lied: he presented things as if sooj’s decision was concerted, whereas she put him up against the wall and he was not happy. He really played the hero, like it came from him. he kept saying that the happiness of his grandchildren was important to him when we know that is not true.
2- Sooj should have said what she had decided, she was asked several times and she was like, "oh, I don’t know what’s going on."
3- the grandmother who makes old people’s whims again... endanger the happiness of children simply because one has bruised her ego...
4- in the end, the two children married alone while the parents wanted a real big ceremony since yjae and haej also got married too quickly... so here, the eggs were broken and in the end the parents could not get what they wanted.
5- we finally saw the emergency scene! I found yjae and haej cute these last two episodes. she is more honest with her feelings and yjae is finally caught by his mistakes! hahaha!
so, 1 to go... it looks like things are gonna happen in the last son’s couple. and KAe is having a crisis... Let’s see what happens next week now!
In Asia, especially here in Asia-Pacific, grandparents do play a huge role for better or worse. If you live here…
yes, me too, I always go all the way down before thinking: but they are asian, this is normal for them, brace yourself! hahaha! it teaches me tolerance.
In Asia, especially here in Asia-Pacific, grandparents do play a huge role for better or worse. If you live here…
so this only works when the children and grand children need a clan to survive. and that's also why western people doesn't understand that as we are used to only count on ourselves. this is also true in other cultures if they are used to live as an extended family, not nuclear one. for me it's like being caught in the middle-age again...
I'm so pissed at this drama right now. A bunch of old geezers, their lives have one foot in the grave and they…
the more I get to know the grand-father, the less I like him. he is really a miserable human being. god blessed me with reasonable grand-parents and the strength to say "the hell with your advise!" when I feel wronged. here they have the 2 opposite problems: the grand-pa is an idiot, and the grand-children doesn't have the nerves to send him to bed.
I don’t understand the relationship between the tatoo and the alleged abuse. Is there an Asian (Korean) member who can explain?
"I felt my heart drop. I couldn't possibly live without you in my life." ~ the grandpa to min-ho. so, why don't you act accordingly?
we saw in this episode the manipulation's skills of haejung and hyunjae.
haej; she made sure that her husband could not seek shelter in his parents' home while running away from marital arguing. and once at home, she pretended to give up on him to make sure that yjae think twice before telling her no in the future.
hjae: he is more subtle but hit hard too. he just expressed his true feelings in a way that drove the elders to understand that their decision could have harmful consequences for the family's harmony. in fact I am sure that if nothing is done, mirae will get ill.
about soojung: I really loved the quiet way she told her biological father that she is not going to change their official relationship. the fact that she said nothing to the children letting the grand-pa play the hero when he did nothing good for his grand-children.
I loved this drama for many reasons and your review made me smile. I won't argue on everything but 2 : 1- you didn't like it but watched all about it nonetheless. 2- sometimes the unbelievable is the reality. like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takotsubo_cardiomyopathy thanks for your sharing!
Basically families in Asian countries really care about what other people will think . This concept of not marrying…
you can replace religion by tradition because it is followed with equal respect in asian countries. it's a sin to not marry your partner because then it'll stain your reputation and your family's reputation as well. this being done, maybe your siblings, uncles, aunts and cousins won't be able to find a job or a good spouse. you and your family will be the focus point of all gossips for years. you know the japanese saying: the nail that protudes is the one being hit. everybody feels entitled to judge and say out loud how the neighbors should live their life. you can say you don't care, and mean it, but ultimately at one point or an other, you will be paying for that. so yes, that's unfortunate, but that's how it works. I don't say I am ok with that, on the contrary. in France people don't care, and I love that. but korea is korea, france is france.
ok so we went down the drama with hjae, the depression and all. up and down the emotional roller coaster with the lost daughter thing. ok, fine!
one of the things I loved the most with this drama was the low crises' content. it was really soothing. but now this is more and more hectic, and I am taking a step back.
the good thing is that the elder son's couple is pleasant to watch now. it's like haej personality changed to be more empathetic, and yjae learned somehow how to be an assertive older brother and have critical thoughts about his beloved grandpa. these things are less likely to happen in real life, but what can I say? dramas' magic!
will mirae agree to live with hjae? will she be pregnant afterwards? will she loose the baby? and why would she loose the baby in the house of her parents if she lives with hjae? for this episode there were supposedly a scene in the IR, and it didn't happen. last time the return of mirae's ex didn't happen. and so on... lies lies lies... tiresome.
I am not saying that the show doesn't deserve to be watched, but the 4 last episodes were exhausting and the writer is keeping too much tension. they are making out previews with no relation with the actual show... it's becoming annoying. if the next episode is as tense as these ones, I declare that the drama is ruined.
I can finally see how strong Mi Rae is and how much and how deeply Hyun Jae loves her. That love beyond the smiley,…
kind people HAVE to be strong. because when you are kind, you get targeted all the time. I say kind, not coward. from the beginning, it's easy to say that mirae is very strong.
ep 39 I let my passion for this show fade while watching an other show, and then just in seconds, hearing how hyunjae wants to solve the current situation, I fall for him again! this man is highly lovable!
haej being thoughtful to hjae: it's the first time I see her treating him really like her little brother and doing something for him. at least their relationship isn't completely one sided.
that's a good drama but I am really impress with the amount of lies in every episode! everybody is lying all the time. don't tell mom, don't tell dad, don't tell our sister, don't tell our brother... wow! I am just on episode 22 and my head is spinning...
No it's not incest, a piece of paper is not going to make it incest. They have no blood relation & they have not…
I like your answer, you have summarized what is incest for me: close blood relation or having spent time together during childhood. if the 2 non-blood related persons loved each other from childhood to adulthood it's also ok. but when people go from childhood friendship to adulthood love relation, I don't buy it.
Why mirae suddenly started acting like a bit*h? like she thinks she has some kind of solutions lol
seeing her mom in tears because of the situation and because of HER actually, might have broken her heart even more. she was already afraid she could loose hjae, she must feel hopeless. don't forget they just lost the grand-ma, all the family is emotionally fragile and grieving. please be considerate... in time of stress, everybody processes his feelings his/her own way.

and now if you look carrefully, you'll see I was answering shagnasty's comment. not yours.
and now that's funny too...
