Just started watching first episode and didn't even complete yet. Seriously this kind of story in 2019. Same old…
SK is a "newly developed" nation and still maintains traditional, patriarchal social values and traditions. Being technologically advanced doesn't mean they adopt western values overnight. There are specific gender-based roles in most Asian countries - developed or developing, it makes no difference. It's not uncommon for a woman to raise children full-time, especially if they can live on a single income.
Kdramas may portray the most extreme situations for dramatic impact, but the core idea for this particular drama is realistic: women who enter the workforce after taking a break to raise children face numerous battles, from age discrimination to lower wages. This happens in a lot of countries all over the world - sometimes being a stay at home mum is a choice, sometimes it's necessary. I find the female character's situation realistic and reasonably portrayed.
The rich guy trope is sort of subverted in this drama IMO because he's a writer who made his own fortune and didn't inherit anything from his family. Plus his lifestyle so far is pretty realistic for someone in the publishing industry.
I wish the Mama fairy has a personality. She was just waiting and pondering who her husband was. Duh. I like the…
Ok Nam looking for her husband isn't the primary plot in this drama even though it starts out that way. It's about who Yi Hyun and Geum were in their previous lives, how they are connected to each other and resolving Izy's (Yi Hyun) tragic past so that he can move on in this life time.
Wow I just had this on hold until it aired completely and now it’s a 7... yikes what happened? I thought it’s…
IMO most viewers didn't understand the primary story - it was about two friends who followed each other through several lifetimes, dimensions and realms to be there for each other. The romance plot was secondary - it was what triggered Yi Hyun and Geum to discover their pasts, how they were connected and why they are so close in this timeline.
This whole main lead/second lead nonsense doesn't apply to all dramas. While Mama Fairy had its fair share of stretched out side-plots, the main trio was solid in terms of acting and chemistry. The story picked up really well in the last four episodes but it maintained its quirkiness and humour right throughout the series, and I liked it overall. Might even re-watch it so that the story becomes clearer the second time around. But then quirky/whimsy fantasy are my thing :)
This drama is only for open minded and non judgemental people
Agreed 100% - what is up with that rating? Looks like people decided they didn't like it because they find it weird. That's not a reason to give this a low rating. At least read the story it's based on before making a decision.
I really loved the last episode. So many shows have let me down at the end after a spellbinding start that I was a little nervous about how they would handle the last episode. IT WAS PERFECT! They're ALAAAAAIIIIVE, my babies are ALIVE!! Praise be, praise be...
So I think the only solution now is for them to find that hidden and buried thing in the house .. I think its…
Mateo has to stop being a noble idiot and tell the others about his curse. They would literally do anything to save him. In the preview he says he's ready to die but hell, this trio HAS to make it out alive.
How will they defeat Park Il Dooooooooooooooo???!!!
Find whatever was buried at the house and burn/destroy it. Poor Yuk Gwang lost his life trying to save Hwa Pyung, it had better be the way to get rid of PID.
Can we keep NS3 and SB aside in their cinnamon scented bubble for a moment?
Right.
Now, can someone please tell me how/where to find a friend like Yeong Hoon? Must be loyal to a fault, maniacally optimistic, never gives up hope or discriminates (doesn't care if you're human or an AI robot), and possesses a high level of integrity/intelligence. Not that bad looking either. Any ideas?
