Throwing in a romantic subplot into this particular type of drama would've been disastrous. Implying or hinting at an attraction/romantic feelings between characters is more than enough because the main plot of Awaken is too heavy to balance both romance and revenge/suspense.

I thought they were referring to Oh Jung Hwan's henchman (the driver/thug) who was a survivor of White Night Village, along with the main trio. There was another woman who died at the psychiatric hospital, so he's the only other WH child left. Or it could be OJH's own son because he seemed pretty obsessed with keeping that kid alive and said something about how the kid was "his future".

She referred to him as her son in a previous episode (maybe Episode 8?) as well.

Give it a chance. Some negative comments here focus on the usual "I prefer A as the Female Lead, she has more chemistry with the Male Lead than B" which really has nothing to do with the main storyline. I find it interesting enough to follow weekly.

Under-rated for sure. I also noticed that dramas with "nice" adulterous characters tend to get low ratings because some viewers find it unacceptable.

Signal, Tunnel, Stranger, Circle, Duel, Life on Mars all have dramatic background scores during certain emotionally charged scenes involving characters in non-romantic relationships. I wouldn't judge where a drama is headed purely based on its choice of background music and long stares. I'd pay close attention to the script and in Alice, there is no indication of any romantic interest between YTY and PJG so far.

So two characters in a platonic relationship or share a strong bond aren't worthy of background music and long stares? Are they reserved only for those who are sexually attracted to each other? That makes no sense.

Some of these comments are ridiculous. There are ZERO hints of romance between YTY and PJG. From PJG's point of view: his mother was his whole world, and he couldn't save her. Therefore, his sometimes irrational decisions regarding 2020 YTY don't come off as creepy or romantic to me. If time travel/scifi isn't your preferred genre, at least give the story a chance to unfold before jumping on the "eewwwww...mother/son...creeeeeepy" bandwagon.

It actually had multiple victims and perpetrators (both dead and alive) but the plot lines of the story were expertly woven together. Super writing and acting - loved the series.
