I started watching this because the plotline felt refreshing ... but I now feel.. stressed as the plot made progress. I mean they could've added a different setting for the main couple's story, lets say she meets dosan somewhere and he makes her heart flutter a little or he comforts her with his indirect gestures and later he turns out to be THE Nam Dosan. Even then it make sense but basing the whole love story on the past letters is just not right even if we throw HJP out of the picture those letters meant a lot to dalmi. I dont know why are you guys thinking that we all are losing our heads because hjp isnt getting the girl but its actually because she is literally being cheated rn. I mean I cant even fathom the feeling id get when Id find out the truth if I were SDM. Id be sensitive abt these letters because someone took my trust and made me write about the things I was hesitant to share with others. Someone using them to start a relation no matter how good that guy is.. is just not right... idk what is the writer thinking.. Its not about the ship. Its about the whole game that they keep dragging on and on. The letters mean the world to her, the lie should have ended a lot earlier. I think the writer doesnt even find any problem with this whole concept.. and that bothers me a lot. Both male leads have a strong and likeable character, they have their own charms in their own way IF we take out the letters and first love lie thing, they are almost perfect in their own roles. No offense to anyone but the kiss scene was a huge turn off for me, especially it felt rushed and didnt make any sense to me, the setting, the pace of the story, didnt really desperately require a kiss scene.. it just didnt fit, not for now at least.. Plus I do hope that they wont do that clichéd things like turn HJP into an evil jerk or say that he was a beautiful fragment of the past or ruin his relation with the grandma in any way possible just to make NDS look good comparatively. Okay, he can do that but why would he be asking this to SDM, how would he justify that he knows that granny has a granddaughter named seo dalmi whose sister injae left her. A person who hasnt met with SDM would walk up to her all confident and ask her abt the grandma? His meeting with the grandma looks more justified than him meeting sdm since he met and interacted with grandma in the past, he'd be more comfortable with meeting the grandma than going up to SDM and asking her how the grandma has been. Plus him saying that he knows her would put him in a tight spot where he has to explain how he know her because according to seo dalmi, she has never had any connection with hjp. During the sandbox relay lecture when she introduces herself as seo dalmi, you can clearly see him repeating the name, when he is asked if he knows her he says no. Later when she mentions seo in jae, he looks at her and he realizes its her sister that the grandma talked about. Later he coincidentally sees her at the bus stop and follows her. I think you misunderstood my point. By following her I meant when he followed her in the present timeline when she gets on the bus and everything. The connection wasnt fake, not in the childhood. He shared what he felt and changed his identity only. He only wrote what he felt after the grandma forced him into writing the very first letter. About the family part, you said it yourself he doesnt know what having a family is like so yes his expression of love and care is definitely more complex.
I would actually like the writer to throw aside the love lines for this project because believe me the story is so different and seeing how they are setting the lovelines is just so.. frustrating tbh. First of all im actually very disappointed how they are focusing more on the love line rather than the strong business - friends plot but admist all this its actually very obvious that HJP isnt sure of his feelings right now, in 1st episode he followed SDM out of genuine curiosity about how she has been living and to confirm if its really that SDM he was pen pals with in the past. Another point is how he keeps talking about the "debt" with the grandma, we can clearly see that he isnt a very straightforward character when it comes to personal feelings. Someone also said how ppl kept saying that he'd be devastated to know that grandma has vision loss but nobody talks abt SDM... I mean, obviously she has a direct blood relation with the grandma it literally goes without saying how hard it will be on SDM, ppl targetted HJP because of his warm past relation with the grandma and how he genuinely considers her family and that he cant even justify this relation in front of everyone because of the whole act these 3 are putting up. Lastly, if there will be a love line (though I wish there wont be any, pls let them all be friends and business partners ;-;) and seeing how they are proceeding with the act it makes me SO MAD, I mean if a person lies to me abt being someone who was there with me, in such a sensitive time of my life i'd be so disappointed.. Its just too wrong how the writers plan to expose the truth when dalmi falls hard for the real Nam Dosan, I means its so unfair and so hard on dalmi :( I actually like the genuine fluffball character of Nam Dosan, but belive me give him something else than just being in love with Dalmi... :(
