Title Hwarang Spoiler
the writer really put herself in a bind by making the leads pseudo-related. she wants them to “act” like real siblings to keep up appearances with the other characters, but she also wants them to be lovers. unfortunately, having both isn’t working for this drama. and it shows in the uninspiring and lackluster chemistry between MM and AR.

that was too funny. i had to go back and check the episode...the waterproof luggage wasn't branded. definitely a missed advertising opportunity. lol.

Title Missing 9 Spoiler
I'm on pin and needles with this drama. One moment I'm supposed to feel scared about their survival…
tae ho is definitely out for his own neck. they keep bringing up how jun oh caused that guy's suicide -- i'm starting to wonder if there is more to it. maybe tae ho was the real reason he killed himself, but just kept quiet about it so that everyone would blame jun oh.

others have posted about this too, so it seems i'm not the only one noticing the inconsistencies in missing 9. it's a given that k-dramas are often unrealistic, but if you're going to tackle a survivalist plot, it should be more believable to be taken seriously. unless that's the point, and the writer is alluding that something else/bigger is going on here. the scenes where they're running around a flower garden and along a well-worn path, on a supposedly abandoned island, cracked me up. and the domesticated rabbits -- just stop. lol. and how about patient/doctor confidentiality? apparently it doesn't apply to this show. i also puzzled over why they ALL had to go in search of shelter? couldn't a few scouts have gone into the woods, and then brought the group back once they found something? the latest development with the pilot keeping the lifeboat a secret is probably the most nonsensical thus far. seriously, the four strongest go, and IF they survive, they tell the authorities there are more survivors. i'm still really enjoying this drama however, despite it's tendency to depart from reality. it's an interesting blend of comedy, mystery and melodrama.

Male lead isn't "introverted", he seems to have a social anxiety that runs very strong, but makes…
I don't believe it's the actress. Park Hye Soo is a relative newbie in the business. So her input on how her role should be played is likely limited. I'm blaming this on bad direction and writing. Watch her in 'Age of Youth.' She's really good in that drama and plays a character that is the COMPLETE polar opposite of Cha Ro Woon. I can usually overlook loud and obnoxious leads, but this one is beyond over the top. Even if the character were to improve later in the drama, I can't take another minute watching her. Dropped after ep 2.

The title is cheesy, but this is actually pretty good. Wish it were longer.

At this point, the bromances have become the highlight of the show for me. They're way more entertaining than scenes with Moo Myung and Ah Ro. But the worst was watching those two at the end of ep 10. I literally cringed.

I'll give this a few more episodes because the cast is good and the story is interesting, but I sincerely hope the writers tone down Chae Ro Woon's pushiness, and give her lessons on how to respect another's privacy. I find her unbearable so far.

I really like all 3 leads, but for some reason don't care for either ship. There just isn't much sparks…
@stolcci I find Soo Ho's interest in the queen alarming actually. I don't trust the writer to tread carefully with this one, because like you mentioned, they are already having difficulty clearly presenting Ah Ro's and Moo Myung's relationship to us.

Although Soo Ho is a playboy, he seems guileless and good at heart. Which is the polar opposite of the queen, who is powerhungry and orders the death of innocent bystanders. Their "romance" certainly has the potential of adding an interesting dynamic to the story, but I'm concerned the queen will only use and manipulate Soo Ho -- like she does with everyone else, even her own son.

Or, the writer might use him as a plot device to humanize the queen, so that viewers will empathize with her. This angle, as she stands now as a character, wouldn't be believable to me.

Just marathoned up to ep 8. Surprisingly, I'm kind of enjoying this one, as I avoided starting it until now.…
I also get a sense of foreboding, as everything has been going too well. It's time to see the true merit of the seemingly "good" ones. And the potential growth in character of the "bad" ones. And of course, kdrama always dictates that everyone has to suffer miserably, before they can be happy. lol

There isn't a huge amount of chemistry between any of the 3 leads, at least not yet, but I've still been leaning slightly towards the king and Ah Ro--although I have a feeling that's going to be a sinking ship.

I couldn't get into the "sibling" romance angle. Like you said -- it felt weird seeing Ah Ro like someone she thought was her brother. And YES!! When Soo Ho's sister grabbed her "brother's" butt --- I was like WTF? I certainly never considered doing that to ANY of my brothers.

Just marathoned up to ep 8. Surprisingly, I'm kind of enjoying this one, as I avoided starting it until now. I don't think folks who are serious sageuk fan's will like this too much, as so far, it hasn't gone deep into the political machination that period dramas thrive on. Instead, it features tons of pretty boys/idols and their lighthearted rivalry. So don't expect anything too melodramatic -- although I think that was a given just from reading the drama summary and looking at the cast of actors. A group of "dashing, talented" youth, ie "Flowering Knights," indeed. lol.

It's a given that shows like AG&3H's, that were viewed by five times more the people, than gems like Juhan Shutei will get more votes. "There's strength in numbers," as the saying goes. But it's still disappointing to see it win across so many categories, when there were clearly better choices.

Personally, I didn't vote in the jdrama poll this year. I watched my fair share, but after glancing at the categories, I honestly couldn't say I had viewed enough to fairly judge -- so I stuck with just voting for what I really knew -- kdrama.

Death by Truck!! In almost every Kdrama!!!!!!
YES!!! the white truck of death is truly horrible. it's gotten to point that i hold my breath and get super tense whenever any characters are crossing or standing in the street. or when someone is driving their car through an intersection. even though i've seen it hundreds of times, i still jump when someone gets run over.

i don't mind tragic endings. and the evil stepmothers are sometimes so terrible, that its almost comical. i'll allow statue kisses if it's a school drama -- can't have high schoolers getting too racy. lol. but weak female leads are a definite no-no. and second lead syndrome always hits hard when you're on the sinking ship. rip chilbong -- three years later and i'm still feeling this one.

also not a fan of the twisted ankle and the drunk piggy back ride.
