To me it sounded like an aggressive thing to say, especially as from my screen it looked like you were responding to my comment so naturally I didn't want to ignore if someone was talking to me. We all have our individual experiences that shape how we perceive and respond to the way people speak to us. But anyway, if you want me to spoil how the ED gets her ending I can, but like I say, I can't guarantee which episode it will be shown.

The events of EP16 of the drama occur in EP19 (out of 24) of season 1 of the donghua. So we're at the half way mark in terms of drama episodes, but not half way through the story yet so I'm a bit concerned about a rushed ending, but we'll see.

The empress dowager isn't going to get her comeuppance until the second half of the story when a pretty major thing happens. We're getting there, but not quite there yet :)

I doubt it tbh, it's quite a short novel by Chinese webnovel standards (about 330k words iirc) And S1 + S2 of the donghua combined should have about 48 episodes that are 20 mins long so it doesn't make sense to me for the C-drama to be that much longer than the donghua. Plus, story wise I think it makes more sense to keep the story whole than to split it into two seasons, I think you'd lose some of the tension and momentum

I'm not sure if they cut any episodes tbh because I don't follow the production news, I just watch xD It's kind of hard to tell from the emojis where they start streamlining the story but I suspect it will be a major chunk in the second half of the novel, because there's quite a long section that you might be able to trim without affecting the story.

What specifically don't you understand, just the two novels?

YWY and XHD are real people who read novel A. In novel A, the character XYE transmigrates in novel B.

XYE is a character, not a real person, who believes she is real. She is unaware she is a character in novel A and thinks she's transmigrated from the real world into novel B.

For my tastes, the donghua is stronger so far but this is not a bad adaptation. It's staying quite true to the novel so far :)

The master is real, he's the old man in white. As for how he knows, you will see if you stick around ;)

Around 60% of the way in the novel iirc, but the pacing seems different in the drama. We're half way in terms of episodes but only covered about 30% of the story. I hope it's not a rush at the end D:

I think the comedy there is too subvert audience expectations and make what happens next even more tragic. I was fooled into thinking the whole thing was a romcom but it gets so emotional :') I love the novel so I can't help but spread the love, but if it's not to your taste then that's understandable :)

I'm a very big believer of not having too many spoilers because I think you lose that really satisfying omggggg THAT'S WHY feeling when you finally find out and it changes how you view everything that has happened so far. All I'll say is there's a good reason that makes sense ;)

Each to their own, but I mean it is a slow burn because the priority is to stay alive not to the fall in love. Personally I don't like instalove so I'm glad they're sticking with the plot and prioritising the comedy and court politics first, cus I would be questioning why they are head over heels when people are trying to kill them left right and centre.
