Actually I kinda enjoyed it. Not flawless but all the hatefull and ridiculing comments are little exagerated imo. I was never Yoon's fan but him playing a mafia boss was quiet convincing, I didn't have any problems with it. After reading some comments here I was really afraid what kind of caricature he will be but nothing like that happened. Another example of that series which you should watch yourself and don't mind the comments or ratings - you might end liking it.
I liked that Kim was not a total chicken but he was stubborn and brave enough to face out Kamol at times. Luckily he was not such a baby as Daonuea from Check Out - I wouldn't diggest that for sure. Actually I was curious about Ton playing here cause I liked him in Y-Destiny. Not that curious about Yoon though... Yes their kisses were awkward but well - really steam and hot kissing is still not that often in BLs (or any kind of dramas). We have to bare with it when we are willing to watch these series... What's a shame is that the creators were not brave enough to display more of the dark side of Kamol's and Kim's personal desires like in the novel for example. Not that I am into BDSM stuff but their (very rare) bed scenes were really weak and didn't show us their true selfs. Kamol was portrayed more like a romantic man and not like a savage egoistic mafia boss I would expect of him. This is probably what annoyed me the most in their portrayal. Aargh, this could be so much better if they would take the courage! It would be so interesting to watch Kamol's transformation while slowly developing his feelings for Kim! And vise versa.
Oh and KhomBaiboon... They were so adorable, it's a shame we didn't get more of them! Like the relationship between a serious bodyguard and a young student itself is enough to drool (you know what I mean :)). Not to mention when we are served with these two handsome guys! And what about that treesome?? It came out of blue and I was literally shocked - I still can't decide whether in possitive or negative way :D
Sure there were many plot holes and lame moments like product placement, all the tiger stuff or the fight scenes... Oh and the water waste (*facepalm)! But the production and OST were really good imo. That pool villa was amazing.
I won't rate the mafia background nor I will compare it to KP because they are two different stories. In conclusion what I lacked the most was the character portrayal, they could go much deeper. I won't rewatch this but at the same time I won't discourage anyone from watching it. Just judge for yourself. I've seen worse.
Let's be clear there's nothing R18 about this drama and if there is then kinnporche and cutie pie are R30
So true! After their first encounter I was like OK, then the bathroom scene came and I was like Meh... And thats actually everything I could remember. Nothing worth R18 rating imo. Recently I watched Check Out ep 13 and THATS what I call a ride :D
I just started today and it is far better than I expected. The sex scene in episode one was a bit unfortunate…
Same here, currently watching ep 4. Not that bad really, I have seen much much worse series. Can't get the hate/ridiculing in many comments however it has its flaws. It's just proving that everyone should watch it himself and should not mind the rating. I will definitely finish this.
So - after watching the episode 13 I totally get the TeeIce hype and you can count me in! I had this feeling after seeing their first kiss that they can deliver us something great and damn - I am glad they didn't disappoint me! Who would say that that nerdy guy (aka Ice) would be so hot and good kisser? Also it's so rare to actually hear the sound effects during s*x scenes, and I am all for it! I won't comment the other stuff like script etc. because it didn't improved but it doesn't even matter. What matters is that TeeIce did put NineDaonuea in the pocket in maybe 20 minutes. But what's actually sad is that if they were played by different actors without their chemistry it will be as horrible as the previous 12 episodes - 'cause the director and the writer screwed up everything possible. Hats off to both M and Beam since these were their first roles and they still did great.
I read many comments about Unforgotten Night and after going through the torture called Check Out I am really…
I think I got you :) Guilty pleasure I guess? (Of course I will watch it since I want to make my own opinion, and I am also little curious, I wont lie.)
Well, I went to EP12, so of course I watched the extra episode. The problem with this series and the mindset of…
I read many comments about Unforgotten Night and after going through the torture called Check Out I am really affraid of watching it. Jeez, could there be something even worse than this?
This was the second series I fast forwarded after What The Duck. Usually I try to be very patient and don't want to miss something important in the story since I want to make a fair opinion - but this time I just couldn't stand it... It was draggy and boring as hell.
Positives: - I liked that it portrayed working adults with a mature content. BLs with this set are still in minority. - The production and OST were OK. - I was OK with Tee ending with Ice, he was a sincere guy. Their kiss came out of nowhere but it really was satisfying - I think many other actors should watch it and learn something from it. I am only about to watch the ep 13 so I can't rate their scenes in it at this point.
Negatives: - Daonuea was so unlikable, he acted like a child in adult's body (him licking a huge lollipop and building Lego didn't help)! I can't understand why he was wanted by 2 (really hot) men at the same time. If only he would be more reasonable and acted more mature the whole show wouldn't be such a torture (put aside the other flaws of this series) and we could enjoy pretty good mature story about adults realising their true feelings. This was the first time I really didn't like ANYTHING about one of the ML. If I was Nine I would ditch both Daonuea and Praew, went travelling and quickly forgot both of them. - I got confused with Candy. Was she Nine's or Praew's friend? One moment she sided with Nine and his unrequited love and the second with Praew. I guess it is just the "thing" of this whole drama - the script was illogical and inconsistent. - The editing was not any better. - Many silly lines in dialogues without any sence. - The acting was stiff and unnatural most of the time. - The product placement was really too much. And I could go on like this with other things, let's just say the script and directing had so many holes that we could make a whole new series only discussing about them.
Them cheating I don't even take as a negative considering all the flaws mentioned above and in previous comments of other MDL members. Yes, they cheated. But it's the bitter reality... Don't pretend these situations don't happen in real life (which doesn't mean I am not against it). What was worse I couldn't bring myself to take even the s*x scenes seriously. Everything became lame and rather cringy under the weight of the whole series impact. Seeing these scenes in other show or under different circumstances they would be pretty decent. Now I surely need some time to recover from this disappointment, I feel like the baby girl in the last ep. Luckily we still have the special episode to remember and available to watch if we want.
daniel is amazing and incredibly underrated. i also watched ciwyw and that’s the main reason i watched this…
Yes, he was one of the main reasons for me too. Both his roles were so different - in CIWYW he appealed much more mature and leaderly while here he was somehow submissive. Which prooved his great acting skills.
The only couple who was a secret was ParkLee and I thought that was strange that Park, Mek & Bear had been best…
Same here. All the time I was waiting for some huuuge surprise in the plot about someone's secret love (obviously it shouldn't be ParkLee as they were not the MLs) but nothing happened...
This was meh... The biggest dissapointment was Kim's and Mek's reunion. It was so indifferent and unsincere, but somehow I was not surprised when that moment came... Sadly. Towards the end I was much more interested in ParkLee and TimMai than in the MLs. Unfortunately another mediocre BL out there. One of the few positives was Daniel (Lee). I really liked him in Call It What You Want so I was curious about him playing here. He didn't dissapoint. And of course - Jeff's amazing singing made this much more edible. I could listen to his voice day and night.
It was a hot mess of misunderstandings, some lovey-dovey days and then really misserable days. Too much misunderstandings for me, too much Mark being cold towards Vee and too much Vee trying to win him back. It was already ep 9 and I still felt like on a ferris wheel - still the same scenes (Vee knocking on the door and Mark standing behind it) and almost zero progress in the relationship. They never really talked about their feelings, what are their thoughts and desires, both in love and in life... So sometimes I was just wondering why do they even love each other. Vee just said few times that he loves Mark but somehow I didn't fully buy it. I was lacking the debth of their "love" which would persuade me to believe them. Maybe the script or the directing was too shallow, I don't know... But what I actually liked (maybe I am weird) was that part in ep 8 when they were going through the break-up. Here I really felt their sadness, their despair, their unsucssesful tries to move on. Both actors did great job in these scenes. Also I liked the ending - it was both unexpected and satisfying.
But why the 18+ rating? Despite the first bed scene (which was not that hot either) there weren't any other scenes which would need this rating imo. I guess I've set my expectations too high :)
Overall I am really glad that they redid this series, the older one was too short, rushed and too much screen time was given to their friends chit-chatting about nothing (this annoyed me pretty much in all 3 series including TOSSARA and This Is Love Story). I would like to see remakes of Tossara and TILS as well, I really liked Bar's and Nuea's acting here. So in conclusion - I enjoyed some parts and some were repeating, boring and shallow. But it could be much worse. 7,5/10
Short and overall OK, but the series was better for me. The plot was not so consistent and I didn't feel their chemistry that much. But I was glad to see Mico and Xavier once again, they are sweet together. I liked their friends as well. 7,5/10 The series will remain one of the best Pinoy BLs for me.
🤣🤣 you just dragged TinTol to the mud,, how can you prefer when they only shakes hands to when they are…
I won't pretend I don't like the skinship between MLs. But there are many good dramas without any skinship or with just one-two kisses but with so much tension that you could cut it. This was not that case sadly, at least for me.
This was literally so good. An example of the series where you don't need super duper production (although it was really good here) or 14 episodes to establish some relationship. All you need is a PC, intelligent conversations and amazing actors who can persuade you with their natural acting. I felt their insecurity, I laughed and I wanted to cry with them too. Mico's confession was the best I've ever seen in any drama. Will definitely come back and rewatch some day.
Minus: Shirtless scenes of two side characters - unreasonable and cringy.
Pluses: Almost everything else - it was sweet and wholesome and I wish it would be longer. Both actors were very cute and their acting was natural. The last ep was perfect - all those little steps that led to their first kiss along with their comments at the end were top. The tension between them was almost palpable. Chen was one naughty guy but let's be honest - who wouldn't like it? :D
So... What to say. Probably not the popular opinion but it was not that great for me. All that loop thing was a great idea but sometimes it was too much - too much action and too much deaths. I felt like the relationship between MLs was not properly built, it was rushed, forced and not too convincing. They lacked chemistry imo, I liked them better in 2 Moons. I didn't like Mai and her weird way of thinking (aka dating Tol just for money) and the other 2 friends of Tol and Art. There were some plot holes too.
What I liked were some side characters like Dr. Gap, Art and Toi. The ER scenes were nicely done and overall the settings were beautiful, the production is on a high level. So it was fresh and OK, but still... something was off for me.
