What happened between part 1 and part 2? His girlfriend was brutally murdered. When an event as traumatic as that…
But to resort to deceiving a powerful diety? I believe for him to get to that state there had to be at least a passage of him slowly letting go of his morals. He just seemed so nice and kind and soft before he killed himself, I'm struggling to grasp that sudden change. But your explanation makes the most sense.

I'd agree with this but the personality change already happened before his gf died. He has been trying to cheat death even before he met his gf in that life.
that was the whole point tho, he was given all these chances to realise all the feelings and emotions he had lost,…
I consider it the opposite. Before he died he was a "nice" guy with a loving girlfriend and mother and was trying his best to succeed and live his life. After he killed himself and was forced to play Death's game, he reverted back to his original personality in the webtoon, where he is "cunning" and trying to deceive Death. For me, that change just doesn't make sense. If he's nice before killing himself, those moral and values should translate into his actions as he lives those 12 lives but actually, the kdrama writer just incorporates his original actions from the webtoon, which would make way more sense if he was a trashy bad guy from the beginning.
I'm sorry there's just no way that the Yijae we were shown in the very beginning of this drama is the same cunning Yijae that we see in part 2. They're two completely different characters! Whoever wrote the adaptation should've stuck to one personality- his original one (which actually makes sense with his actions), or the new nicer one that they seem to forget existed in part 2. It seems they wanted to make him nicer to appeal to the audience's hearts but it clashes with his original motives and reasons behind his actions. But they've kept his actions the same so I'm honestly left wondering who Yijae is as a person in this drama. One second he's cunning and trying to trick Death at her own game, the next he's soft and crying about his loved ones. They should've just stuck to one personality is all i'm saying.
they tried that at one point i think, the bully took someone's phone and tried to figure out what their role was.…
I think initially when the game began you could see your role and that's when the FL showed her friend but after that it doesn't show up. Otherwise they probably wouldve showed their role as citizen if they got accused.
The motivations were not realistic. What kind of idiotic parents punish their daughter's friends? The reason behind…
if theyre going to put their daughter's closest friend under endless rounds of pain for being a bystander, they should be there too. there's no way they didnt notice anything going on at home.
if the ghost and yoonseo's dreams were seeun helping her, can anyone help explain why the ghost was also trying to pull yoonseo down in the pool and drown her? every other ghost incidence makes sense except that one
Ahn Jiho (who played Dabeom) was the most impressive actor in this for me. for someone who has primarily only played minor roles before this, this character really showcased a lot of his skills. i have a feeling he'll make it big, only 19 and he's this talented already. another actor who impressed me is Lee Jaein (Yoonseo). despite her weak and poorly written character, Jaein really pulled through in the emotional scenes and it sometimes felt so real, as if she wasn't even acting, especially in the last 2 episodes. my fellow 04's have huge potential I'm so excited to see how far they'll go.
Well, I also read the webtoon and I find it kinda lacking compared to the K-drama. In the K- drama they fixed…
all the memories you have mentioned are only enough for him to understand the body he's living in and the context. why the spy is being targeted, what kind of life the CEO has been living, what relationship the bullied student has with others. the spy being upset at the betrayal could be yijae getting angry at dying when he was so close to the money. when cafe guy's friend called him after getting memories, he had no idea who he was. nor when his friend/brother appeared in his house after getting drunk. either he doesn't get all him memories or there are problems with the writing.
a lot of what you're saying is that this is not the webtoon so the webtoon reasoning wouldnt justify the kdrama but the webtoon IS the source material. the kdrama can't cover the ML's entire thoughts as theyre displayed in the webtoon, nor can it go into as much detail. so for the parts that have not been changed and are pretty much word-for-word copies, it's safe to assume that they align with the same scene in the original. the drama does make its own "creative liberties" but when it creates inconsistencies after incorporating that along original scenes, that's an issue. i understand their decision to change yijae's personality to make him more relatable, but it clashes with the other scenes that they dont change from the webtoon, where his original personality shows through.
by your logic, if the personality changed, the drama should have explicitly mentioned that. he notices the memories and physical abilities but not once has he made a comment on the personality changes. the daredevil scene could be justified as him being excited that he's in a famous person's body and feeling secure that he'll survive, that's not a big enough scene to prove he's absorbed the personality.

first point - unless they add another plot change to the drama there's no 'finding out' because that quite literally was the reason she made him play that game.
second - she's not giving him redemption she's punishing him by giving 12 lives that are already destined to die and teaching him a lesson. "Death would most likely be pissed at others too" in the webtoon she states this is the first time she's ever become so angry at a human so she created the game, from that it's safe to assume others haven't done this before. third - this just doesnt even make sense. physical ability and partial memory recollection is one thing, personality change is another. he is a whole different soul existing in these different bodies. he has just enough memories to pick up where the body was left off, that's nowhere near enough to significantly change his personality. the whole point is to see if he can solve her 'game' and evade dying. giving him different personalities in different bodies takes away from that because that's essentially not him who is surviving. i suggest you read the webtoon. a lot of your reasoning is already explained there.

kdrama yijae broke up with his gf because he was insecure and saw her smiling with another guy only to later find out he was her brother. you're telling me he's dated her for 7 years and had no idea she had a brother?
also the whole reason Death was pissed at him in the first place. kdrama yijae is nice and hardworking, why would she be so pissed at him specifically for jumping when plenty of others have been in the same position? webtoon yijae was trashy, lazy, and arrogant and decided to die because he viewed death as an easy way out. that's why Death decided to punish him with the game, becausehe viewed death as something trivial and within his control. the character change is inconsistent too. sometimes he's nice/soft, sometimes he has his original personality like when he's trying to outsmart Death or when he's in the different bodies. like you're telling me prisoner guy had the same personality as cafe guy? of course part of that is due to the different actors but the essence of yijae himself is inconsistent within the different bodies
