Well it is odd that some random new guy is strangely obsessed with a person he just met, people are gonna assume he's got feelings. And this is a lighthearted comedy for the most part, strong homophobia just won't fit well with the tone of the drama. If the characters can timetravel I think we can excuse them for being a little unrealistic with the homophobia lol

agreed! The Red Sleeve is probably one of the closest kdramas to My Dearest in terms of tone & intensity. the FL's growth into mature, strong women is definitely a prominent theme with both dramas, as well as tragic love

She definitely showed Cheongah the most interest out of any other character but the thing that throws me off is her saying her first love was in a band

Some of yall are so quick to hate on Gilchae, it's just misogynistic at this point. She hasn't cheated on her husband like these comments apparently believe, and she is doing everything she can to survive. Yall are STRUGGLING to find any excuse to put some sort of blame on her.

Yes she believed the man she loved, Lee Janghyun, was dead so she married the officer. If she did not. She would have waited longer. Are you watching a completely different drama? Did you not watch episode 10? We can see her continuous struggles and selfless decisions she makes. She did not move to another man 'easy peasy', she grieved Janghyun for 3 years and married for the sake of her family. What do you mean 'take responsibility for it'????? What on earth is she doing wrong?????

In her eyes, he abandoned her. She knew he came to find her and left. And who actually saved her? Janghyun. She doesn't know that the officer is still looking for her. And that one slave owner even said it's rare for husbands to come searching for their wives, so she may as well have given up hope, as the likelihood of husbands wanting their wives after theyve been 'tainted' is low. It's reasonable at that time for him to abandon her, as many husbands have, and for her to believe that he has too.

How is she the cause of this? At that time she believed the man she loved was dead, and Ryangeum didn't not help disprove that. If you recall, Gilchae was struggling to provide for her family, and the officer offered her safety & comfort for her family. She initially refused, but Ryangeum's arrival only confirmed to her that Janghyun was dead, so that's when she decided to marry him. She grieved him for 3 years and made this decision for her family. How is any of that her fault?? She made a wise decision.

She is a noblewoman, have some faith in her. She may not cheat on her husband, and nothing in the preview suggests that she might. She is simply taking care of the man that took an arrow for her.

the scene of janghyun running towards gilchae in ep 4/14 reminded me of that one scene in CLOY lol. both very high stake situations.

both leads are truly admirable, the way they use their wits to save themselves and others. both individually strong people, they deserve each other.

It doesn't seem to me that she's cheating on her husband as of yet (from what we see in the previews). Her husband abandoned her, and Janghyun quite literally became a shield to save her life. I think it's perfectly reasonable that she wants to stay behind for a while and nurse him back to health, since after all, he is in that state because of her. She hasn't bedded him nor kissed him, and since she is a noblewoman I doubt she would even do that so freely knowing she's married. Let's give her some grace, we don't know how things will turn out next week.

this is possible, but with everything he's done in part 2 for gilchae I believe he's turned a new leaf. he knows janghyun will never love him back that way, and he understands gilchae is to janghyun what janghyun is to himself. his attempt at separating both in part1 already ruined his relationship with janghyun, so i doubt ryangeum would want janghyun to abandon him like that again. i think he's finally accepted his place and just wants janghyun to be happy.

He should have left. Simple as that. There's no better solution for the both of them without ruining her reputation and them having to live inconspicuously for the rest of their lives. I'm saying I'm disappointed he told her to run away in the first place given their situation

Me too! I only watched him act in 18 again so I was also a little skeptical about him being the main lead but now I look forward to his scenes the most out of everyone lol 😭 his acting is really good
