o my god! please don't do something despicable LCY! I am not at hating-you yet! First time trying to understand an on-the-fence character and is he gonna ruin my psychoanalysing efforts!
Did Li Chen Yin actually love Xiao Feng when he was Gu Xiao Wu? Or was it just an act to get her trust? I'm watching…
oh, but he did! He didn't plan to fall for her and wanted to use her just as a gateway to his mission. But everything that happened along the way made him love her.
See, he was sorta using Se Se too (though I am a lil confused about when the using began since in the beginning it seemed as if his affection was genuine), he felt a tiny bit guilty for that, hence all the covering-ups and letting-goes for the nasties she did. But he was not acting like a crazy person with the thought of losing her.
When the second time he's fallen hard for her all over again (where I am at now), he's acting like his previous self. I think that's his true nature. He's selfish, yes, but so is almost everyone else in this show, including XF. He planned to marry and take her to the safety before the strike on the danchis because he was selfish to think that protecting only her is enough (that kind of love, you see). He loved her and wanted to have her beside him, Though it was painful for her but also was the only way of saving her. He didn't abandon his plan for her because his revenge was important too. The environment where he was brought up in taught him nothing better than manipulating for bigger purpose. He felt horrible afterwards and was ready to do anything, but it was too late.
His is the most complex character in this drama. This is the first time in a situation like this, I don't hate the ML. I think he deserved what he got but he, according to me, is nothing near to despicable. I am usually a black and white kinda person. There's no grey for me. But this one's different.
p.s. did you see the new released epilogue on yt. It's cute and I'll watch it later. Want to watch this pair in another drama. But I'll watch it thinking that it's a different show, or else it would completely kill the mood of the show for me. You know how much I am sobbing watching this one and then everything turning into a la la land will be an insult to XF's sacrifice and I my tears (lol). And I am too one with this show for that kind of disconnect.
I think Li Chen Yin's voice could be Chen Xing Xu's actual voice. Listen to his singing. The voices sound similar.
Even if the voices are dubbed and their original voices are beautiful too (the song), I would give credit to the voice actors for bringing out all the emotions in me, even the ones I didn't know I had.
This is the best drama I've ever, ever watched (I'm a five year veteran of Korean and Chinese dramas). The obsession…
o my god! I am so jealous. You know, lately, I've thinking about quitting my life and other important stuff to learn foreign languages for the sake of enjoying dramas!
A modern version may not be as heart-wrenching as this one. I don't think the modern ladies would want to be used…
I am still at the second-time -meeting phase. But one thing for sure is, had it not been the ending, the drama wouldn't have been so beautiful and memorable. When XF slashed her throat she was making good on her words she told LYC in the 10th episode, when she asked him to kill shifu, "I want you know the pain of living without a someone you love so dearly". I think that was LCY's ultimate punishment. But also it wouldn't have been this effective if he didn't love her the way he did. In the bts OF the last scene CXX was crying even after the scene ended, I think he momentorily lost his voice too. First, some blurring the lines that is, great acting. And second, we can feel the pain of LCY through CXX at his mortal punishment.
I already have so many things to say about the drama, and i am not even halfway yet. The characters are not that simple, like I don't hate LCY 'cause he's despicable, it's more than that. I understand his POV, but that doesn't make it less cruel and I can't forgive him either. And I would never want them to be together. I mean that's toxic. That would have made XF's character just as ordinary as any other drama fls, and the drama wouldn't have been this complex. This is just me after 15 and a half episodes. Got to let out some!

No kidding! The slow subbing is taking away my life away slowly though! the last episodes are yet to be subbed. I tried to pause and come back, but no use. It just pulls me right back in.
The masked assassins were from the Empress/Minister Gao. The Danchi warriors were from the 2nd prince. But yes,…
Thanks a lot. I happened to skip some political -plotting scenes, so, must have missed it.
So, the part where one man was arrested and tortured by the second Prince's people to false confess, was he a danchi too? And the other man whom they got to confess in exchange of some favours, was he a real danchi?
I am on episode 8 and it's breaking my heart:'( I mean, the dai chi's are barbarians and plunderers, therefore, if what they got was in a fare way and proportion then it would've been justified. But LCY used XF to infiltrate their home and destroy them, that too with the help of an even more barbaric and evil tribe. This was pure cruelty. He practically had XF bring annihilation home.
Oh My God! XD ! before even reading the review, your rating had me laughing my butt off! I love Vill, but now gonna give this one a miss! Thanx much for saving my precious time that I am gonna now use up to watch another Lakorn! lol!
That's the predicament of watching Lakorns, can't have them (completely) -- can't leave them! The utter ridiculousness and nonsense will have you go half- bald from hail-pulling, you'll curse and be unsatisfied at the end... like, ugh... I mean what do they take women for... ugh! But... then you go on watching 50 more! At least, that's me... in my all shameless glory!
