So when qq was telling gongsun how she met baoer's father the mouth to mouth detail was really unnecessary, just saying she saved him from drowning would've sufficed. Imo.

I am surprised that they cut this but kept the other couple's bath scene when that's way racier i think. When i saw it first as a clip on yt i thought Deng kai's naked butt was visible and was like really cdrama you've come a long way. Lol. Don't get me wrong, i m not blaming that couple or asking for their scenes to be cut. Just that whoever made the decision could've kept both couples' scenes.

Glad that he didn't. But knowing everything shows me the reason for why he's how he is. But that doesn't take away from the trauma he is causing his victims. I'll feel terrible for what he's gone through until he's perpetrating similar wrongs against someone else.
If he was shown to have affection for his child, qq may have (stress on may) adjusted to him eventually but still she'd have gone through the abuse for the time till then. So my empathy couldn't have coexisted with my aversion to his current behavior. But that's just me. And at the same time i am also open to proportionally compensating redemption arcs rightly done.

Yes. Absolutely. But when you show a cruel character doing cruel and creepy stuff like his brother you hate him without dilution bc he's packaged as a villain but then his character you can feel is written to eventually be unfairly demanding viewers' understanding of his behavior also not to forget his and qian qian's story is calculatively written to be romanticized i feel. I mean that bath tub/ hammam scene, qq must have been vomiting inside having to do it but the bgm playing is telling us something else. Like seriously? What are you trying to convey here fr? Those romantically wrappered scenes are physically uncomfortable to watch.

I have seen that Deng Kai is getting some recognition for this show but I really hope people are not romanticizing…
