On Clean with Passion for Now Feb 13, 2019
I got an inkling after watching the whole thing that the writer/director and JTBC were in cahoots in the procrastination planning to almost ruin the show. The writer/director kept pushing back the romance and the channel the episodes.

There were 12 episodes of foreplay only to give us the taste of the real romance for just one and a three quarter episodes, breaking them up again at the end of the 14th episode. Then one episode of painful separation and one of the ML chasing the girl anew, until the last 5 minutes. As soon as the FL was released from all the guilt nonsense laid upon her by the fam, she scrambled to the ML, and then the final beautiful kiss. Then they lived happily ever after off-screen. The end! Wtf!

Don't get me wrong, I love me some very tall, snowy and handsome YGS for an uninterrupted 16 episodes, even if he was just chewing gum. But yet, I was kinda disappointed, ‘cause I went in with expectations. After maneuvering through all the hyped criticism (a lot) and loving the nice comments, my expectation was pretty hyped too. But what I got was 12 episodes of build up to a something that ended before settling in. So much ado about a blip! Bah!

I liked it, but would have loved if there was more cheese. In this case, I would have compromised with the cavities. I liked the lighthearted fun, some scenes were really lol, lol, lol. But it couldn’t compensate for the delaying of the couple’s becoming a couple.

This show was on the lines of, I am not a robot and Secretary Kim. An ML with a severe phobia/ptsd which is miraculously healed by the “leeeve” of a good woman (totally realistic!). But I'll take that, creative liberty in fiction and all, just give the goshdamn love more screen time, would ya! like the Robot and Kim. I know it's the journey of his healing and blah blah, but give ma bub a break and some more happy time, that would make me happy too. Instead, all this show does is waltzing about the real happiness. It was an endless loop of going back and forth. just between lovers had more screen time for romance and happy-union than this.

All the actors did a fine job. The supporting cast was great. The brother was slap-worthy, sometimes. The dad had his reasons for stuff. The cleaning fairies were amusing and handsome. The bff was what I want for myself. Rooftop Daddy-long-legs was awesome! Though I don't have any SLS, I loved his character. And I shipped him with Sun Gyeol, even if for a bit. I liked the secretary except for the one time that I didn’t (y’all know why). Mom was a breath of fresh air. None of the cliche crap. Conniving haraboji seemed just like an obstacle in the video games, coming with more intensity with each advanced level. Not very convincing though. He was just for the sake of being there and was raised from the sidelines when situations needed to be messy.

The main leads were the reasons for my bracing the fury of frustration and not giving up. Purrfect, is the word. I am not gonna say anything special about YGS. It's never that I don't love him like crazy. Talking about him for me would be running a tap to the Niagara Falls. But one thing though, who decided that God awful inverted-bowl hairstyle for him! I want to test them on hate-for-YGS-meter.

Kim yoo Jung is a delight to watch here. I've liked her and YJG since iljimae. I didn't like her acting in moonlight though. Especially the second part was pretty whatever. But she was back here, and how! Her acting was mature and seasoned. She was playing a 20-something and I saw her so. She was so convincing. As soon as the board clapped, she became the character. No trace of her real-self. The chemistry came across as breathing. I have seen many experienced actresses feeling a bit twitchy even if for a second before warming up to such scenes. But she was a pro from the get go. No awkwardness, no drawing back of the head, nothing. I saw a few BTSs and she even initiated some of the moments (btw has anybody seen those BTSs, they are life). Kudos to the actors for giving such a great chemistry. KYJ had chemistry with everyone on the set, even off-screen.

In conclusion, I love the actors and loved their chemistry here. But I wanted more romance than one and a half episodes. I wish them to come back soon (together or not) with more romantic dramas, where there will be more episodes to love than waiting and moping about it. So botha you pretties, until next time -- WHIGHTING! Come back even stronger and more charming! I’ll be eagerly waiting for your next dramas! Hope you're not reading this!

I am so happy that Jung Il Woo is back. But just I wish Kwon Yool too gets to do some lead roles. I love him so much! Actually love them both.

Reading the description seems like this drama is interesting, but i still am not sure. Can someone convince me…
Seems like everyone's done watching the drama. Therefore, no new comments. I am not gonna convince you since I didn't like it. But you can try. It's good if you are okay with the things I have problem with. I have dropped it at episode 8. You can check my comment (spoiler). Forewarning, the description is misleading.

Dropping it! And really sad to do so. This is the only YSH drama I couldn't complete. I was really looking forward to it. Love all the main actors. Ja Bo Ha is especially entertaining. I love her and was so excited about her doing this show with YSH. But the plot is making me crazy. The two main leads are annoying as shit. Actually Bok Soo is the most irritating one. He's giving me the feels of the frustratingly clingy FLs I hate so much. If the girl and the boy existed separately in the drama without romancing each other or even taking a pause before starting at it, I'd have watched it. Bur their just jumping into the relationship right away after clearing the misunderstanding gave me acid burps. Sorry but I can't be that forgiving. I have no problem with oh se ho yet. Weird, maybe, but true. His character has more layers than an onion. And also probably because he is made to be hated and is not getting any happiness outta whatever crap he's doing to be happy. The end result is still the same loneliness.

I might give it another try after some time, if the resentment and annoyance settle down :(

Please tell me that the head witch, the triad of colluding old geezers and the bullying students will be shat on their faces eventually. Please give me hope! My palms have half moons from fist-clenching!

I mean. take the exaggeration down a notch writer-nim. How can you even imagine showing Kim Yoo Jung as a girl with average looks! seriously! even if she's wearing a garbage bag, i'll toss my straightness into the bag and ask her out.

I seriously fail to understand how can someone not like a man who's that tall and looks and walks like that in a suit! His cute chubby face is adorable. But before reaching there I am completely slayed by his stature and posture.

I've waited a long time for this to end, so that I can start watching. I am glad that I got to read this review before starting. Because unlike most of the comments, which is is all about spewing hate for Gyung Sang I actually learned something about how the story sailed. I like to read reviews and spoilers before starting a drama and then form my own opinion, and thank you so much for writing a no bs one. :)

Such a pleasant-feeling drama. Beautiful ost, beautiful location (I wanna live there), beautiful and talented actors, the whole cast is amazing. What more do you need. I laughed a lot. but in the midst of all the hilarity there were bytes of sadness and pain that lay beneath U baek's life and his attitude. That part, though came in short bursts and not many, made me feel for the character. So, job well done!

This would probably be the only show where I loved each and every character. Everyone did their parts so convincingly. I liked JSM in 1%, but this role really unveiled her acting chops to the best level.

I think there are so many underrated actor/actresses in kdramaland, Kim Ji Suk is undoubtedly one of them. Loved him since Personal Taste, the first time isaw him. He brings ease to his characters and variety in his performances. And off course, good looks is the cherry.

Lee Sang Yeob, though sometimes tends to go a lil overboard with his acting, is quite a good actor. And soooo handsome. I fell in love with him through his character in The innocent MAn, where he stood silently beside MCY's character throughout, with the multitudinous pain of one-sided love, in spite of all the cruelty he was put through by her. He expressed everything with his eyes. Geez... flashback goosebumps.

I loved almost every moment of the show. Said almost, since the parts where Kang Soon was dodging U Baek and hurting him time and again in the process flipped me a little, even though I understood her situation of being grateful and all, and also I wanted U Baek to pause chasing her for a while. I will most definitely re-watch. Just wish the subs were a wee bit better (no offense, plenty thanks). At some point in the show I started to not read the subs at all, unawares. just tried to guess what they were saying. It worked!
