Can someone please tell me if there's excessive age shaming of the FL here like Pretty Noona! I had to stop watching that show just for this reason. I mean if you're progressive enough to cast and show a pair with older Fl, don't be dwelling in a half-regressive mind!
This is a bit off but... what does it matter what she looks like? She's 19 for ffsake. I'll never understand what…
Even though I am stomaching it pretty well and liking it too (umm...perv alert! keep telling myself that she's of age), your logic for not liking them is the only sane and completely acceptable one I have come across. Just saying.
But it seems as a trend, like, radio romance, bring it on ghost, etc. And don't even get me started with the stories of 19-yr-old high-schoolers (even when they were old enough off-screen) romancing adults: high school king of savvy, I can hear your voice (come off as a fetish). It's a pretty mainstream trope in Korean drama culture, I feel. The well-loved, mass-favorite dramas. What the shit! I too was uneasy at first.
I almost never post here, but I honestly don't understand why this drama has such low rating and so many complaints.…
Word, besty! Those kisses have my eyes roasted. I am amazed at KYG's professionalism in the kissing and "skinship" scenes (ya go girl!). She's brilliant. No coy ploy. And cn't love YGS enough! <3<3<3 Already have been rambling my love for him, a lot.
About saying YGS looking like KYG's father, I think those people really hate him here or maybe they actually know some 18-yr-old who's father looks so young (like a 12-year-older father). So jealous of that parent! I hope I can retain my youth too like that even when my children turn 18.
And about the age gap, since we've all erased our memories of Hollywood since being introduced to Asian dramas, what can I say! Each to their...
My favourite weekend drama. One of my favourite all-time dramas. The best part about the show is the family-love. Nothing like it. Wholesome to the eyeballs.
There is something wrong in this drama. But cannot pinpoint exactly. I think it is probably that there is too…
Omigod! The last line made the water come out of my nose! Hilarious! I haven't started yet but your comment reminds me of Pretty Noona. That too had laborious slow pacing and the longer shots of mundane stuff to make it look more realistic and artsy.
A bazillion thank-yous to the Subbers. You guys are awesome!
I friggin loved it! Not that it was perfect or anything. It was but perfectly entertaining. The story and everything had a lot of the lakorn clichés, yet it was not overtly ridiculous. I mean the main characters' behaviour and reactions were pretty reasonable (save few).
When I first saw the English translation of the title - "Subduing the she-devil", I knew it would be kinda like The Taming of the shrew/ten things I hate about you, and it was (well, sorta). They did a good job with the main story. It was not boring. the girl was unabashedly nasty and didn't bother pretending anything else, and the guy was sent to woo her as a pretext for revenge. While the elders behaved largely like teenagers, I didn't care. I wasn't there to see them anyway. They were extremely good-looking though.
The main cast, Ml and FL were ideal for their roles. I must say, I got my third girl-crush in Fern (after kimmy and sammy). She is absolutely gorgeous and performed her character faultlessly. She is an amazing actress, natural and spontaneous. She is another actress whom I utterly adored in spite of the nasty character she played . How she was with her staff in the office, though exaggerated, yet had no excuse, even for the slightest cause (in the show). Hence, she-devil. But she knew what she was and owned it. No miss sunshine act. Even when she was a screaming, cussing, slapping b***h, I was in awe [ofthe acting].
I mainly wanted to watch it for Tao and came out loving Fern too. Tao is both cute and sexy at the same time. what! how even! He has this gentlemanly appearance yet in DArk Fairy Tale he played a sexy playboy to an awesome credibility. He is great with the kisses and skinship (so is Baifern. gosh! even gfs name is so beautiful) and thus conveys the chemistry believably, of course, provided the co-actress is equally or even partly good, i.e. like, Fern or Aokbab (DFL). I hope he never gets a no-kiss-agreement actress like Pattie again (nothing personal).
Overall, it's not half-bad; pretty good, in fact. I will probably watch it again. Just can't get enough of the couple.
When on crappy earth is this man coming back! aishhh! Miss his smile, his charm, his acting... his everything. have do make to with watching dots and IM on repeat. watched 8 times each. Need something new. Penny pinchers won't do.

When m hyuki is the romantic lead, a monumental height difference or a shitty script can't stop your heart fluttering away to him.
