I loved it up to episode 8. Then everything seemed very rushed.

They had already digressed from the main plot of season 1 and decided to focus on BY-Uk lovestory building and i was fine with that. I had my expectations to see Naksu and BY more explored, to see Naksu being a badass again, magic more explored, Jin Mu more as a real threat like he was in the last episode cos honestly even though his method of manipulating people's fear and greed was good and he was a royal mage i feel there were a few opportunities to scapegoat him and do away with him which were let be to keep him for the finale.

I didn't care about the plot holes and deviations cos I was sooo invested in BY+Uk story. But suddenly at episode 9 the writers had an awakening and got themselves away from the love story and into closing up the open loops, very haphazardly I must say. The whole Uk realizing Naksu in BY and that reaction was so underwhelming cos they were rushing to tie lose ends simultaneously. Uk's personality and love for Naksu in the whole s1 and the s2's 8 episodes were 180 degrees from his decision to act indifferent since acknowledging will lead him to get rid of her. Neither of Naksu or Uk had been rule followers till that point but suddenly they decided to be uncharacteristic. I'd have understood it if they had given more time to settle into their original feelings and then deciding to follow the bigger purpose, but this didn't have time for that.

BY finally coming into her body and then disappearing for good was rushed too. When BY was BY she felt like a prop doing everything. It's like palli palli do your thing and just leave for Naksu+Uk happy ending. I was happy to see Jin Mu burn with the whole council of mages, but it did seem like there to just make me happy, again added as an afterthought.

Instead of striding two lanes the Hongs should have stuck to 1. Love story or the mage story. Like the 1st one was mainly about Uk's coming to power punctuated by the love story, this was a love story sprinkled with the mage story till episode 8, then they just made a rushed hodgepodge of both. There ambition was too big for 10 episodes.

I still loved BY/Naksu/CY+Uk lovestory part and their chemistry.

I didn't feel anything when she died. I just told her through the screen: "You should have got yourself on that…
That's actually what made me cry. the otherwise selfish girl gave up her life for an unrequited love. And I like how her character is written. Not just flat evil or righteous.

I feel like even if he's dead yet Uk has his own hot bod but Naksu's body is gone (my poor girl is living like a helpless parasite since the first season😭😭). So there can be still chance of saving Uk through some alchemy even after removing the ice stone from him. But Naksu can't be existing as a parasite throughout her life. Just my conjecture. Can't seem to see a solution out of it unless Hongs pull a Marlene king and produce a new body with magic or just say her body wasn't burnt in the first place. Phew! I am getting heartburn from anxiety😨.
