I was like -- who's this blonde girl, I've never ever seen in my 5 year kdrama watching life, playing sfl with my darlings here?!! Then after 10 seconds and a smile from her -- OF! Roh jeong eui!! Really!!!
And The end... phew What a weird drama! Ghosts, goblins, deities, devils... still so boring It's like the writer and the director came together to take a break and also occasionally work but were smart enough to get good actors on board so no one will notice their (W&D's) insincerity. What a waste of good actors. But also almost everyone is liking it and it's getting good ratings according to Soompi so not waste of talent, i guess. The first episode was very good in terms of mystery setup. A bit confusing, but I'll take it. It even ended perfectly. But that's that. . There's no continuing with the build up of the mystery, or even the "lovers" love relation. The lovestory was like -- here, we are telling you these two love each other and you have to believe. Period.
I'd have been able to endure this even if they had focused on the lovestory instead of the sloppily executed mystical mystery. I know my duty to leave normal beliefs at the door while following a fantasy world, but even fantasy worlds have their rules that they set up and then follow.
And then there was the abandonment of common sense which I believe even the ancient mystical beings posses, except trolls of course.
The only two times the drama had any reaction out of me other that snoring are the full first episode -- excitement and hope of a good journey ahead, and the last when Chon Ki lost her eyes again and met Ha ram at the end of exorcism and her whole acting while crying -- I was crying a bit too but that was Yoo Jung's acting. No points to the makers.
The editing was bad too. The transitions from funny scenes to serious was so abrupt that I was having emotional-identity crisis. The whole drama was so lazily written and directed and edited that it was hilariously stupid. But even the fun of watching a bad drama was not enough to endure it.
I finished it because of the actors. They deserved viewers. So yes, while I'd say the director was good at directing the actors, he wasn't directing the plots.
So did the king and the prince oh so transparently decide to tell chun ki the whole secret of the divine painter trapping the biggest satan of all time in her painting and also that as a consequence she might lose her sanity like her dad and just expected her to go along with the plan out of the sheer goodness of a loyal subject? And now she's discussing, what is suppose to be a secret kept for a long time even among the palace insiders, with her painting buddies for them to give her suggestions or help her out of the situation! Is this suppose to be thick plot or just thick?
I don't like you reading my mind and saying the exact thing I have been thinking through this drama, but your XK's cutest pic ever just won me overπ
I am so fluctuating between liking and not liking Prince Yang Myung. Yes, he seems like a sweet, kind, gentle dude despite his princey complex but then he's all "if you go near Chun Ki I won't forgive you" blah blah to Ha Ram while himself putting her life in danger by making her paint the king's portrait after being aware of the consequence.
Prince yang Myung to Chun Ki: Am I not visible to you? *sob sob* Me: Dude you have been nice to her for like 2 mins... Come out of the prince complex! *eyeroll*
Had no idea about the existence of this movie before coming upon this video essay. Now I am curious. I am not a listener of kpop per se, I just listen to them incidentally when I find a good song in a drama/movie or someplace else. So not well-versed with all the bands and groups. But I have surely heard of the toxicity of the kpop industry and yes, fans too. So, obviously gonna watch it if I manage to find it somewhere.
13 mins in the first episode and a lot of plots are parallelly happening. I am into the story. But a bit lost at the moment. hope things will be clear soon. I am not here for trigonometry. Too dumb for that sin.
Kwon Yool's being here is a bit distracting for me. He has always been my love who never gets a lead role except for that one time in that longa$$ complicatedly boring drama. And Min jae of course I consider a celestial being. The dilemma... *sigh*
