Even w/ bad subtitles, I still love it

A genius detective in the major crimes division + the young woman (with mysterious super memory abilities) he’d die to protect.

I love when I stumble across hidden gem dramas like this one, though I wish they were easier to find. This drama is underrated & deserves to be on a streaming platform so it’s more easily viewable! I don’t know how I found it, but I’m so glad I did - such a random find that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I was immediately drawn into the story from the Leads’ first interaction (which is saying something because the subtitles left much to be desired). I knew they were going to have the kind of dynamic that’s like cat-nip to me - a protective older male & the brave girl who brings chaos to his order (while he brings order to her chaos!)

The ML is new to the police department but not new to the job. He’s got experience solving hard cases & catching nasty criminals. He’s extremely perceptive & astute, noting the things most people overlook. This gives him a unique approach to his cases &, strangely, the ability to contain the FL’s teenage rebellion. Noting this, his boss puts him in charge of her care (i.e. making sure she attends school & stays out of trouble.) It’s a task he doesn’t particularly care for but since his boss ordered it, he can’t say no. So he sets out to tame the girl & make her cease her troublesome ways.

The FL is a quirky, friendly teen who doesn’t mean to cause trouble but can’t seem to help it. She keeps the depth of her abilities hidden from everyone around her due to her older brother’s warning not to tell anyone before he died when she was little. The police team who handled his case took her under their wings & have become her “guardians” of a sort, but even they don’t know what’s really going on or what causes her to misbehave. For her, it’s a means of survival - her senses are so heightened that she easily gets overwhelmed so she has to escape the situation & avoid lots of stimuli (which she tries to combat by constantly wearing headphones).

When they first meet, she’s impressed by how he helps her catch the thief who snatched her wallet. Learning who he is & that he’s now in charge of her, she seeks to be his “student”, wanting to help with his investigations. Of course, he denies her since she’s in high school & too young, but that doesn’t deter her. When she gets tangled up in his current case, she decides to investigate on her own using her abilities & pass on anything she learns. Because of this, they interact more due to him trying to contain her while she’s trying to help him. And each interaction just made me love them more.

The ML is a total green flag for her. He’s very straight faced & serious, never getting ruffled by any situation. And it’s that very calm that he exudes that draws the FL in. The steady beat of his heart can help her stave off one of her attacks. When she accidentally discovers this, she craves being in his presence for the peace he brings her. I love that, although he doesn’t understand the reason for her actions (getting close enough to hear his heartbeat), he never shies away from giving her what she needs. And I love how she completely trusts him & seeks him out for comfort whenever she begins to feel overwhelmed. She’s totally adorable & he completely melts for her. He’s a really good guy & she’s fully aware of his awesomeness. Under his care & with his encouragement/training, she learns to better control her senses & adapt to different situations rather than always having to avoid & retreat from really living her life to the fullest.

There’s a villain who’s desperate to get his hands on the girl, someone she never expects would hurt her. There’s betrayal from an assumed ally. There are twists & turns as to the reasoning behind it all. And there’s a connection the Leads share that neither saw coming, but they now have to figure out what it means for their relationship. The storyline kept me interested & everything flowed at a relatively good pace. I’ve watched it multiple times & still find myself loving this story of opposites attracting & love blossoming.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this duo fall for each other, fight for one another, beat the odds & secure their well-deserved HEA.

Such an Underrated Treasure!

I have no idea how I stumbled upon this gem but I am so glad I did because I absolutely love it!! I’ve rewatched it multiple times & still find myself wanting to watch it all over again. If you’re a fan of this genre & haven’t watched this, then don’t even bother reading my review - just press play!

This caught & held my attention from moment one. The pacing can seem a bit draggy since we’re used to fast-paced & high-action shows these days, but I found the rate at which it moved to be very soothing & enticing. I was able to easily follow along with what was happening in the cases rather than getting lost in lots of chaotic scenes. And this pacing also allowed us to really see the growth of the recruits as they navigated their new roles & acclimated to the team. The girls each had their strengths & weaknesses, so watching them mature & know themselves better was satisfying to watch.

I love the tropes used by the writer. We have the no-nonsense leader who doesn’t think the soft-spoken new recruit from the psychology department can hack it on his team. He has high standards &, unfortunately, she doesn’t meet his physical ability requirements (as proven when he had to save her from a frenzied criminal - talk about a memorable first meeting!) So he sets a challenge that she must meet within his given timeframe or he’s kicking her off the team. Our FL is no quitter, though, so she puts in the effort & goes all out to prove she deserves her spot.

During all this she’s an active member in helping with cases, though in a limited capacity. And while her inexperience & naivety sometimes lead her to the wrong conclusion, the ML comes to recognize & value her insights/expertise. I really loved watching the FL grow in her confidence in her abilities as she works to correct her flaws/mistakes when she’s made aware of them so as to not be a hinderance to the team. She only ever wants to be an asset to them. It takes a strong person to admit when they’re wrong so her doing this makes her girl-crush worthy. 💜

While romance isn’t the main focus of the show, I couldn’t help but soak in each sweet interaction between the Leads. I got all the feels watching the ML’s slow fall for the FL as he began to value & admire her, first as a colleague, then as a woman. The ways he cares for her & protects her without diminishing her strengths are so swoon worthy. Having said that, do not go into this expecting lots of romance because that truly is not the priority of the storyline. It’s more like the background bonus that the viewers can’t help but eagerly soak up.

This is by far one of my favorite dramas in its genre. The cases, the plot/pacing, the team dynamics & friendships - they were all wonderfully executed & portrayed. And the FL’s way of expressing herself through her drawings is so cute (& also explains the drama’s title 🙃).

There’s a Thai remake &, being completely honest, it did not at all measure up to the Chinese version, imho. So if you’ve only watched the remake & not the original, definitely give this one a try (& vice versa if you want!)

And to anyone who has anyone influence over this who may be reading - PLEASE put this on more platforms & make it more easily viewable!!!

Didn’t hate it, didn’t love it

An often underestimated assistant chef & a sharp-tongued CEO clash at their first meeting due to a misunderstanding. When their paths cross again after the passionate foodie ML is mistakenly served a dish prepared by the FL, impressing him with her skill, can the duo set aside their initial animosity & learn to respect the others’ POV?

The FL thought her life was on the right track doing a job she loved & having a great boyfriend, but that changes when she catches him cheating & learns the hotel she works for is being acquired by the ML, who plans to shut it down. With her future now so uncertain, can she remain optimistic & find the light in the present darkness?

The ML is used to making hard decisions in the business world. He doesn’t let feelings affect him so he’s often perceived as harsh. But underneath the cold veneer lies the heart of a good man who’s faced some dark times in his past. When he meets the FL, will her goodness help him break free of those trying to control him?

The unlikely pair slowly become attached to one another, with their dislike turning to genuine affection. They grow to understand one another’s heart, developing a deep & lasting bond between them. And while others work to separate them, this couple fights for their right to be together.

Amidst familial drama & tragedies, workplace espionage, rivals’ shenanigans, & just life’s general messiness this couple share a sweet relationship of supporting, encouraging, & protecting one another. ❤️‍🩹

A sweet & satisfying story!

If you’re looking for something messy, angsty, toxic, & overflowing with drama then this is NOT the show for you. But if you want to watch a story about two adults who act their age & know how to communicate + think for themselves, then give this drama a try!

I enjoyed this way more than I expected to. I’d read reviews that complained about the Leads not actually getting married (false) & how they only shared one kiss towards the end (also false) so I was leery to start this one but I saw it was recommended for fans of the drama, “As Beautiful As You” which I absolutely loved so I decided to take a chance on this one. I’m so glad I did!! I don’t know what show those other reviewers had seen, but their complaints were so unwarranted & totally not true!

The FL has recently reentered the dating scene by attending matchmaking events after breaking up with her long term boyfriend. She encounters an old high school classmate at one of the events & he soon suggests they marry as that’s what they’re both seeking. She’s a little hesitant but quickly agrees. After all, they may not have love now, but they have trust & friendship so who’s to say love won’t come?

Unknown to her, though, they do already have love but it’s simply one-sided.

The ML fell for her at first sight in high school but he always missed his chance to confess. He chose to study abroad when she started dating then immediately made plans to come back years later when he learned she was single again. No matter the time that’s passed, his feelings have never lessened or waivered. For him, it’s only ever been & could only ever be her. He doesn’t confess this, though, as he doesn’t want to scare her off or make her uncomfortable. A “marriage of convenience” is still a marriage so he’s okay, confident that affection will come.

A few things happen to keep them from finalizing the marital paperwork (which is different from my country so I can’t fully explain it), but their parents believe it’s already legal so they choose to keep it secret since they plan to rectify it immediately. But then he suddenly becomes her immediate supervisor at the bank where they’re both employed & things get iffy. They work it out, though, but choose to wait a year before finishing the wedding procedures. And maybe this is where the other reviewer got confused? I’m not sure BUT they live like a married couple the whole time. And they do get officially married in later episodes so, again, not sure what that other person was complaining about. 🤷🏻‍♀️

And that’s pretty much how the story unfolds. They have to keep their relationship a secret from everyone but their parents & the FL’s bestie because their employer doesn’t allow office romance. If they’re discovered, one of them will be transferred or fired/forced to resign. And honestly, I was a bit worried this would cause angsty tension but it didn’t! The Leads are both very mature & truly kind people that they don’t let their work affect their personal life. They have great communication with one another, constantly talking out any potential issues & stopping misunderstandings before they can grow bigger.

They are super affectionate too. They’re constantly sneaking touches & sharing flirtatious looks. Everything about them assures the viewers that these two are solid through & through. And seriously, whoever said they only kissed once towards the end clearly didn’t actually watch the show because they kissed all the time!! Sweet nuzzles, quick pecks, slower seductions, & bedroom kisses. They did it all, repeatedly & wonderfully. They have great chemistry! 🔥🫠 I truly enjoyed watching them interact & grow closer. Learning just how much he adores her & witnessing her falling in love with him in return is such a satisfying ride. All the ways they show they trust, admire, respect, & value one another is so beautifully done. I thoroughly enjoyed their story!

The extras:

There are two additional couples &, being totally honest, I didn’t really care for either of them. They weren’t bad or anything, I just wanted more of the Leads on screen instead. That being said, there came a point in the coworkers couple where the man defended the woman & I really started enjoying their relationship after that. They both had great character growth because of the influence of one another.

The parents. I loved them all. The FL’s parents are so solid & supportive, never pushing her to do or be anything she doesn’t want. They never oppose the Leads or in any way act controlling or toxic. The ML’s mom is also precious. She, too, is never anything but 100% for the Leads being together. 🫶🏻

The love rivals. The couple handles these situations wonderfully, imho. They’re not cruel, but are firm & don’t leave room for misunderstandings. However, the delulu female wanna-be rival chooses to interpret things her own way & acts annoying for a good portion. I don’t like her at all. Why she thinks manipulation & threats would make her desirable to the ML is something I can’t comprehend. 🤯 I was very happy when she was finally put in her place with no way for her to twist his rejection. And I will say that she earned a bit of my respect when she herself came to the conclusion that I wish more drama love rivals would realize - “That’s not love. It’s obsession. Self, it’s time to wake up.” That was a definite “good job, girl!” moment. 👍🏻

The music. I really enjoyed it. It always seemed to pair well with the scenes without overpowering the acting, if that makes sense. And the lyrics are truly beautiful & match this drama so well. ❣️

Their jobs. Okay, I admit I skipped through some scenes that were purely job related as it’s a lot of banking jargon that I don’t understand. And it being the customs of another country which operates differently than my own made it even more confusing for me, haha. So yes, I skimmed through those scenes but it didn’t at all take away from my understanding of the bigger picture/theme/plot/storyline. 🤗

I highly recommend watching this if you’re in the mood for a sweet story where the Leads don’t engage in lots of drama nor do they make your heart race negatively from fear of their back-and-forth tension. This is an easy & sweet watch. 💗

I want more!

A young cellist + her father’s doctor find an unexpected love.

This couple… *sigh* 💝

The friendship they form, the bond they develop, the love they discover - gahhh, it’s all so beautiful!! The Leads have amazing chemistry and I love watching them fall for each other with every interaction they share. From their first tense interactions to their slowly growing friendship. Then as she’s completely clueless to his hints & he’s uncertain how to woo her. There are so many memorable scenes!! That one where she has an allergic reaction & the way he responds?? SWOON!!! 🫠🫠🫠

Okay, I could gush forever. Onto other things I really like about this.

The ML never looks down on the FL because of her age, nor does he overpower her with his opinions about things. He never tries to control or manipulate her, never demands she change. He loves her exactly as she is and always encourages her to chase her dreams - he’s a total green flag 💚

The FL, in turn, is so supportive of the ML’s career. She doesn’t make unfair demands on his time, nor does she try to guilt him when emergencies arise that cause him to bail on/be late for plans with her. She’s a steady source of love and care for him to depend on. One who makes the ML take notice immediately and set out to pursue and cherish her. She’s totes girl crush worthy 😍

I truly love this drama. I love how they bring the best out in each other. In the safety of the ML’s love, the FL matures & flourishes in her personal & professional life. And under the influence of the FL’s cheerfulness, the ML experiences carefree & happy moments. They have a mutual respect & appreciation for each other that really shows how beautiful love can be. How beautiful it SHOULD be.

Even when stuff comes up or they have misunderstandings/lover’s spats, they both work to understand each other & meet in the middle. Yes, it’s more often the ML guiding the way due to his age & life experience, but the FL is always trying to be an equal partner for him. And I really like how the love rivals are dealt with. In both cases (SML pursuing FL & SFL chasing ML) the ML handles it so well. The scene of his confession in front of his colleagues… perfection! Absolutely adore the way he was only concerned about the FL’s feelings, not what it would look like to his superiors nor how it would affect the SFL. And the way he chased after her - gahhhh!!! He’s such a winner!!

Another thing I think was done very well is their reconciliation. 1) it wasn’t drug out for lots of episodes. 2) in their pain, they didn’t lash out or try to hurt one another (ie: try to make one another jealous, lie that they’re totally fine, etc.) 3) when they reconcile, it’s done. They don’t hold grudges, use past mistakes as a weapon or tool of manipulation, or cast blame. It happened, an apology was made, forgiveness was given, they’re still very deeply in love, and that’s that. Kudos, writer(s)!!

Their moments together are adorable and their kisses make your heart just melt 🫠 If you haven’t watched this yet, you’re totally missing out on experiencing a beautiful love story 🫶🏻

***Be sure to watch the end of each episode for a short bonus video that is cuteness overload! Also, have tissues because this show has the potential to make you shed quite a few tears…

24eps isn’t enough!!

A sweet love story between a shy girl & the smartest boy in class.

Her family has just moved to town & she’s feeling awkward & misplaced. Thankfully, she quickly makes new friends who help her settle in at school. Much to her mother’s annoyance, though, she’s not a top student. She’d rather lose herself in her artwork than study for hours. But as she grows closer to the ML, she’s inspired to get serious about her studies & plan for the future. Her college entrance exams don’t go well, though, so she’s left behind to try again while her closest friends move onto the next phase of life. Will she be able to remain strong & keep trying when the people who helped her make it through each day are no longer by her side?

He’s always been popular & good at everything. School comes easy to him & he’s on the path to pursue his dreams at college. Those plans expand to include the FL, though, as they interact more & their feelings grow. But will their bond survive when they’re separated by distance? When familial tragedy strikes, he pushes her away in his quest to not cause her further stress. But when his efforts succeed & she no longer seeks him out, he realizes just his much he needs her. Can he win back her affection or are they destined to be just a youthful memory for one another?

This is 1 of my favorite youth dramas. They’re so flippin’ cute together! I love watching their dislike of each other turn into admiration & respect for one another. Their friendship is so beautiful & their bond so pure. I adore watching them become more than friends. The trust, the loyalty, the bff vibes… The way these two love each other is pure couple goals & what I wish every first love could be! 🫶🏻

When revenge & love mix…

A young woman whose life was destroyed by her father’s mistress decides to get revenge by targeting the woman’s son. But when she gets to know him and learns all her beliefs about him are wrong her feelings turn from hate to love. Society and their families would never approve of them being together, so how could these lovers ever get a happy ending?

I began this drama without knowing what I was getting into. And honestly, I think that’s the best way to watch this one so I’m not gonna write a very long or detailed review. Everything needs to be discovered by experiencing the joys and pains of these characters right alongside them. So I’ll keep this brief and encourage you to push play if you’re in the mood for a melodrama.

This drama gives both pain and comfort. It makes you hurt for all the Leads have endured at the hands of their parents. It shows how much the children suffer from the adults choices. It also shows how you can’t just assume someone’s life is all hunky-dory by viewing it from the outside. We all face pain, we’re all going through stuff. We all need a friend, a confidant, a person who’s on our side no matter what comes.

We all need to love and be loved.

The siblings are lovely. Though they don’t share with each other their daily struggles, they know when the others need them and they step up without fail. They speak in the silence without using words.

The Leads are so good together. They do an amazing job with their gazes, their body movements, their tones. There’s so much being said when neither are speaking. Truly talented cast!

Yes, I would’ve loved to see them more as a couple, but that wasn’t the point of this drama so I can be content with the happy ending we got. Their smiles say it all 💗

Love Among the Stars

When a video’s leaked with proof of an actress’s { Dilraba } gaming ineptitude, it threatens her contract with the developer. When she recognizes the proficient gamer she’s playing with as her first love { Yang Yang }, she asks him to help her hone her skills (without revealing her identity!) so she can redeem herself. Thus their story begins…

I enjoy that the FL stays kind & innocent throughout. She’s strong & stands up for herself while remaining humble. She never uses her fame as an excuse to be rude or act as if she’s better than anyone. She’s a very cheerful & honest person who has worked very hard for her accomplishments & doesn’t take the people around her for granted. She does have a few moments where I’m like, “girl, whyyy?” but overall I really enjoyed her.

I love watching the ML fall for her. He starts as a closed off person who isn’t mean, but rather burdened. He’s got the worry for his parents’ finances & health weighing him down, causing him to give up his career as an aerospace engineer for a more stable desk job. But the FL’s constant encouragement & unending belief in him give him the courage to once again chase his dream. Her sunny personality & quirky charms help brighten the darkness he’s been living in, giving him hope for a better future.

I enjoy the way he goes about pursuing her after he pushed her away & proving his feelings are genuine. He knows he messed up by letting her go, he realizes just how much he needs her in his life, & he sets out to win her back. And I appreciate that she isn’t cruel in her hesitation to accept him & that their separation doesn’t last long. It shows how serious they both take their relationship. Some shows drag this situation out too long to add more tension & drama, but I personally hate that. If you both love one another & want to be together, why would you be dumb & hold onto your pride when you could just apologize/forgive & hold onto each other instead?

Their chemistry is 🔥! They love to flirt & their banter is so cute. Their devotion to each other is 🫠. I love how they support each others goals & never let the difficulties of life come between them. It’s very nice that we get to witness the progression of their story too with the time jump. Getting to actually see them functioning as a married couple & how that works with both of their demanding careers is really well done, imo. Life doesn’t end after the “HEA” scene - that’s when a whole new life begins! They’re total married couple goals too. Just as flirty & affectionate as when they were dating. Lovely hugs & kisses. Their story is a joy to watch!

A pain-free fall into Love

Away from home & stranded in a snowstorm, the FL { Zhao Jin Mai } receives help from a kind stranger. The ML { Leo Wu }, took one look at her through a window & felt his world shift. Little do either of them know how this chance encounter will change their lives forever.

Winter may be white, but this couple is pure G R E E N 💚💚💚

She’s a rising star in the world of professional billiards (& yeah, that’s a thing! 🤷🏻‍♀️) Years ago, he was a true genius in the sport, basking in the spotlight. But he left, both the sport & the country, after a scandal with no plans of coming back. As they spend time together, though, she inspires him to return to the world he left behind. And the whole journey is a delight to watch.

The ML is total boyfriend material. From that first glance, his entire being focuses on her. And it’s not in an unhealthy way where he lets everything else in his life fall apart, but rather in the sense that he now has a new purpose & drive to succeed in all his endeavors - so he can give her the very best version of himself. He’s very attentive & affectionate. He prioritizes her & does all he can to make her feel secure in his feelings for her. He’s all in & he’s not afraid to let the whole world know.

The FL is just as enamored with him as he is with her, though she’s a bit more hesitant to act on her feelings. He makes it safe for her to do so, though, so she jumps & joins him in the free fall to love. She’s mature for her age in the ways she doesn’t whine or try to manipulate him into doing what she wants. She’s willing to face any obstacles with him rather than demanding he just make them all disappear. She’s respectful of his goals & encourages him to chase his dreams, promising to be a source of unending support for him. And while her familial situation causes them to keep their relationship a secret from those outside their close circle, she’s fully devoted to him & makes sure he knows it.

I love this for its total lack of any drama-trauma. No rival interference, no jealous teammates, no stupid breakups - it’s a story full of love, respect, trust, support, & chemistry. Oh my wowza - their chemistry is both sugary sweet & smokin’ hot. 🔥🫠 They personify the saying, “the eyes are the windows of the soul”. The things they say with just a glance or gaze… it makes you believe the actors aren’t just acting!

I could gush over this so much, but instead of reading more of my opinions, you should just push play & enjoy the absolutely beautiful & precious story for yourself! 🩵💛💜💚

Can Love Change the Heart of Doom?

This was my first paranormal kdrama years ago & I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s heartwarming & thought provoking in it’s message, raising the question, “What would you do if you knew you only had 100 days left to live?”

The ML is seemingly cruel & uncaring about anyone or anything. While his identity sets him apart from others, it’s his disenchantment with humanity that has left him jaded. Hearing their thoughts over hundreds of years has made him privy to their most selfish & narcissistic tendencies. He wishes he could just do away with them all & end the world. And it appears fate is on his side when a human woman seems to feel the same…

The FL is strong & independent. Losing her parents at a young age left a gaping hole in her life. When she receives her diagnosis of a terminal brain tumor, she’s determined to brave the storm alone & not be a burden on her loved ones. Precious, misguided girl.

In a fit of anger after receiving the tragic news, the FL wishes for the destruction of the world… & the ML, destruction himself, comes to answer, eager to grant this request.

Thus their story begins. And oh, what a tale it is! The push & pull they have with each other is intense; their chemistry palpable. It’s attraction & confusion, longing glances & jealous urges. Its fierce distaste turned to I’d-destroy-the-world-for-you love. *sigh, swoon, & all the feels!* 🫠

Their character growth is well done. The ways they challenge, motivate, heal, & change one another are so good. The storyline & pacing flowed well for me. The support cast all did well in their roles. And this has one of the BEST secondary couples of all the many dramas I’ve watched. They’re so cute you could watch just for them (& yeah, his voice definitely plays a huge part in that! iykyk)

A Coming-of-Age Drama w/out All the Drama!

At the innocent age of 16, a girl, ZaiZai, fell in love with a boy, RangRang, at first sight. Thus their story begins…

She’s a bubbly, upbeat, and positive girl; friendly & always smiling. She stands up for herself, never letting anyone look down on or abuse her. She’s confident, but not conceited; strong, but not arrogant. And her admiration for & support of the ML completely change his life.💗

He’s seen as cold & aloof due to his focus on his studies, but he’s actually very kind to those he allows to get close. He has very low self esteem because of being constantly compared to his genius younger brother & always coming up short in his parents’ eyes. But he opens up to his new friends & begins to laugh & enjoy life with them by his side. And the way he gravitates towards, falls for, & protects the FL is so swoon worthy. 🫠

This is one of my favorite youth dramas! I absolutely love it. It felt like I was just hearing stories from close friends, the cast’s chemistry was that natural. I love everything about it. The bromance, the sismance, & the core 5’s bond. The lack of love rival drama (the Leads were so good at not allowing any of that to fester!) That all the adults were NICE (except ML’s parents) - so rare! The love of the Leads & the ways they always protected each other & their relationship (ML’s remark regarding the college wannabe-rival girl’s photos of him = chef’s kiss!! ) They’re all very mature, loyal, & good.

Do yourself a favor & watch this sweet drama if you haven’t yet!

Just as Good as Season 1!!

** Review for seasons 1 & 2!! **

I know there are mixed reviews & feelings (as is the case with every drama ever made) but I personally enjoyed every minute of both seasons. The writers & cast did an amazing job drawing me in & making me feel so much with each scene.

The drama gives a beautiful glimpse into the lives of the doctors & their medical staff who sacrifice so much of themselves out of their genuine desire to help each patient.

The five main protagonists have the kind of bond that makes people think, “squad goals”. They don’t compete against one another, they aren’t jealous of each other’s accomplishments, nor do they ever allow one of their own to face hard stuff alone. They’re one another’s biggest fans & sources of comfort/support, always.

The love story of each squad member is wonderful as well. They’re not huge drama fests & I rooted for each couple the whole way. Some get together in the first season, others not until the end of the second season but that slow burn doesn’t at all detract from the chemistry. The romances aren’t the main focus, but rather a delightful bonus that I was totally there for.

The supporting cast is a pure delight as well. They’re all going through stuff & have their own histories & experiences they bring with them which adds to the story rather than detracting from it. From all the secondary medical staff to all the doctors’ families to the patients in each case - they each did a great job in their roles.

I also love that there are no evil villains or hospital takeover drama. No warring of the higher ups who value profit over life - no backstabbing or attacks to further personal agendas.

This is both heartwarming & hilarious - I swooned over the romance & friendships, while I also cracked up laughing so many times! Oh, & the doctor’s son is a total scene stealer & their father/son dynamic is absolutely precious!

PS - they have a band & we get to see them practice a ton, those scenes really help highlight the emotions of each episode. A great aspect to their group that adds so much to the show.

Enough of my ramblings. If you haven’t watched it yet, stop hesitating & push play (but watch season 1 first)!

A Warm & Easy-to- Watch Slice-of-Life Medical Drama

Beautiful Love. Wonderful Music. Yummy Food. Utter Perfection!

Potential Spoilers - Be Warned!!

She’s a college senior with a secret - online she’s known for her historical music compositions. Though still a “nobody”, she dreams of one day working with her idol. She’s never seen him but his voice stirs her heart. When fate brings the man behind the voice into her life, will she fall for him as quickly as she did his voice?

He’s a doctor with another identity - a master in the voice dubbing industry. He’s always kept his two worlds separate to protect his privacy. Years ago he heard one of the FL’s songs & was entranced, but couldn’t find out who she was. When he hears her voice again online, he’s determined to finally learn who she is. Lucky for him, fate is on his side…

I absolutely adore this drama! Out of the hundreds I’ve watched over the years, both Korean & Chinese (+ others), this is easily one of my favorites. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched it now. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 I’ve never bought the express episodes for any show before (or since), but I did with this drama as it aired because I was so totally obsessed & didn’t want to want until they were released. I needed the rest of their story ASAP! And yet, I almost didn’t want to finish it because I was in no way ready for it to end…

The FL is so sweet & innocent without being TSTL. She’s such a refreshing character. I love her as a whole. And the ML - gah, talk about a green forest!! He’s mega talented, but not at all conceited. He treats everyone with respect & kindness. They’re both genuinely good people who have such wonderful hearts. They’re beautiful, inside & out.

And their chemistry is insane. Like make you blush & melt-from-all-the-feels intense! 🔥🫠 From their first online interactions, their attraction is palpable. When they meet in person, the tension increases. Then they confess & wowza - let the swooning begin! Once they share their first kiss, it’s kisses galore & I was so there for it!! So many times the chemistry kind of fizzles out towards the end of a show, but that is so NOT the case here!! So thank you, Writers!! 🩵🩷

They’re such a perfect couple. They’re so devoted & affectionate, never trying to hide their connection. I love how he immediately & openly pursues her. His total focus on her is so attractive. And her acceptance of his feelings is a relief. No playing coy or second-guessing, he asks & she accepts. Boom. Love it!!

I’ve seriously watched this so many times & I know I’ll continue to rewatch it again & again. It’s such a good mind-cleanse from the drama & trauma of other shows. If you’re looking for an easy watch, look no further. For real it has:

🚫NO love triangles
🚫NO villains
🚫NO rivals, in love or work
🚫NO misunderstandings
🚫NO hidden plot twists
🚫NO drama-trauma
🚫 NO parental interference
✅ Great friendships
✅ Healthy Leads relationship
✅ Positive family ties
✅ Cute secondary couples
✅ Friendly coworkers
✅ Calm & relaxing vibes
✅ Good communication
✅ Fantastic OST

I’d be remiss not to mention the music. This drama is full of great songs, both during the on-screen performances as well as in the background of scenes. I can’t understand any of it without the subtitles but even so, I love it. The music of dramas doesn’t usually affect my rating much cause I don’t pay a lot of attention to it, honestly, but this drama is different. Just hearing the opening song gives me a sense of ease because of how soothing this drama is. I love all the songs throughout, especially the ones the Leads sing together.

Oh! And the food!!! Watching this made me sooooo hungry (iykyk), hahaha!!!

If you haven’t watched it yet, do it. Just do yourself a favor & press play! 💛💜💙

A Love That Defies the Odds

When a low-ranking fairy accidentally resurrects a powerful demon, their fates become cosmically entangled as the world is thrown into turmoil.

I really enjoyed the first half of this drama. There are some truly memorable scenes. When she kisses him to save him when he’s under attack (causing the body switch that allows him to access power)? Swoon. 🫠 And when he saves her when her people are torturing her for setting him free? Total swoon!🔥

The cinematography is gorgeous, the storyline is solid, the twists & turns never stop coming, & the cast did amazing. And while all that still holds true for the second half, it started to bug me that our Leads just could not catch a break. They’d take 1 step forward just to take 3 steps back it seemed. And I felt like the FL never truly understood nor appreciated all the ML did for her. Because he wasn’t behaving in ways familiar to her then it didn’t count as love (when he actually grew to love her more than himself).

Even still, this is a really well-done drama. The chemistry is there, the acting is solid, & (for those who enjoy it) the tension/angst levels are high. So despite it not being one of my favorites, I still recognize & acknowledge the beauty of this drama (though I would’ve preferred we got a hug or kiss in the final reunion scene!)
