Some bad, but mostly All Good!

The FL quits her job at an IT firm after being shamed for reporting sexual harassment. She becomes an entrepreneur, learning to navigate all the ups & downs. She accepts the financial investment of a powerful CEO who happens to be a college classmate she hasn’t seen in 10yrs. As they work together, their bond deepens & romantic sparks fly. Will they find love amidst the attempts to sabotage them?

This isn’t a fluffy drama. It focuses on starting a business, finding your niche, dealing with rivals, & earning your place. But there’s humor, sweetness, & love too!

I adore the female besties. They never fight, have stupid jealous fits, or make catty remarks. They have the friendship where they compliment one another’s gowns & fix each other’s crowns. 👑 They’re strong women chasing their dreams & finding love along the way.

Now for the Leads… they (of course) had a communication misunderstanding which lead to them having no contact for the past decade. That made a negative impact on their opinions of each other, but neither of them use it as some excuse to vilify or torment the other.

The ML is aces & I love him. He liked the FL in college, but duty took him away before he could confess. He’s never forgotten her, though. He’s devastated when he learns she’s in a long term relationship, but after their painful & unexpected breakup, he gives her time to heal & move on before confessing.

He’s still very attentive & does all he can to be with her, though. Him waiting to confess does not mean he isn’t slowly & subtly pursuing her. And when Ms. Delulu tries cr@p, he shuts her down quick. I LOVE how he cut ties with her - a true “mess with my woman & I’ll mess back” type. 🫠 I swear I could just gush about him for awhile!

The FL is just as great. She goes through a LOT but it all makes her stronger. Through all the sly & underhanded attempts to foil her business’ success, to the personal heartbreak she experiences, & with all the new things she’s needing to adapt to & learn in this new career path she’s chosen - girl is a total boss & never lets anything give her a victim mentality. With every setback & hardship she faces, she perseveres & proves herself worthy of recognition for all her hard work. She truly grows to be the ML’s equal in the corporate world. And her affection for him is precious. She’s intent on never doing anything that’d harm him, neither professionally or personally.

Okay, having said all that, I do feel I should point out a few issues I had -
1) Whyyyyy would she go to her exes wedding? Not only that, he’s marrying one of her previous best friends! Totally broke the girl code there. Neither of them were honest with the FL about it, they just expected her to accept it after they were already together. And she did! I just didn’t like that. Wish them well if you must, but boundaries, girl!
2) Communicate! Their heartbreak could’ve been less harsh if they’d just been honest with one another. ML should’ve come clean about the business stuff before they started dating. FL should’ve spoken to him rather than breaking into his safe (especially since what prompted that was words from people she KNOWS want to hurt her.)
3) Act your age. Be mad & hurt & all the things, but don’t let it make you stupid. After all you’ve done to grow your business (not to mention all the hard work of your colleagues!) don’t make rash decisions in the heat of the moment as payback against your partner. Honestly, her decision didn’t damage him, it damaged her. And he totally saved her butt in it too by getting her business back from their rivals. Why do people turn to the known “villains” in those moments? Can we say petty & childish?!
4) Wardrobe. It really bugged me how much skin the FL had to show. Is that normal in China, for business women to wear what amounts to a shirt to the office? Can they not cover their legs or wear longer skirts/dresses? I always feel like they’re being made to use their bodies to help advance their careers, as if their brains aren’t enough. Can we like, stop normalizing that, please?! The guys are in multiple layered suits. If they can succeed while being fully clothed, don’t ya think women can too? 🤦🏻‍♀️

Okay. Done with my rant, haha! That list made it seem like I don’t actually like this drama but that’s so not true. I LOVED it!! I know others have different opinions & I’m completely fine with that. And it’s totally cool if you think differently too! 😉

Back to the Leads. I honestly love them. They’re perfect together, despite their mistakes. They both learn & grow from that experience, recognizing the things they did wrong & determining to do better in the future. When they come back together, they have an added layer of maturity to them, as well as a new level of devotion for & cherishing of one another. They’ve experienced what it’s like to be apart & they know it’s not something they ever want to face again so they put in the effort needed to maintain a healthy relationship. The ways they love, support, & protect one another are total couple goals. 💚 The ending is sweet yet leaves an ache. Definitely watch a bonus episode! It’s a HEA, but it’s THE END & I’m simply not ready to let them go yet…

Iffy beginning & happy ending

A super fluffy (& at times cringey) story of a man { Bi Wen Jun } who’s considered “perfect” & a woman { Wu Xuan Yi } who’s… well, not.

The big tropes are all here:
1) Opposites attract - the highly successful, confident, “cold” ML & the friendly FL who’s more timid which hinders her success.

2) the Misunderstanding - she witnesses an incident involving him & judges him unfairly.

3) Controlling parent - despite being an adult, FL’s mom still forces her to the dentist to fix her “flaws”.

4) Love triangle - FL had a one-sided crush on SML for years. SML & ML are friends. ML likes FL, but now SML is back & realizing he does too.

5) the Separation - a plan was set before they got together & now they must be apart. A fight happens, they make up, he goes & she waits for his return.

Honestly, I didn’t really like the FL at first. Her initial treatment of ML didn’t make a good first impression & she was a bit too TSTL at times, imho. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Once she matured some & accurately cluing into the world around her, my opinion started to change. By the time the Leads got together, I liked her for him. And I always liked him for her.

He’s my kind of person. Not open with everyone, he prefers just a few close people which causes others to think he’s aloof. But he treats other all with kindness & patience, even the FL when she’s a brat to him. Not quite sure why he fell for her, but since he helped change her into someone I could stand, I’m thankful he did . 😉

They’re a very solid couple. They don’t let things fester nor get into petty fights. They’re very affectionate with great chemistry & swoon worthy kisses! 🔥🫠 So while the beginning made me really frustrated, I enjoyed it after they finally became a couple.

Humorous with lots of heart!

When her boyfriend of 15 years breaks up with her unexpectedly, the FL hires the ML as her personal trainer to help get back in shape & turn her life around.

Even though she doesn’t fit society’s {warped} definition of beautiful, the FL remains confident & true to herself. Though she has moments of feeling discouraged because of the negativity around her, she never lets that keep her down. It was really nice to watch a show where the woman knows her worth & doesn’t let anyone push her around. It’s a powerful message that many need to hear.

I liked how the ML didn’t go easy on her, but rather encouraged her to {safely} push her limits. And when he saw her tenacity & drive to succeed, he began seeing her in a whole new light. He never cared about her size, only ever her health. The situations he’d put her in because of his job were quite humorous (but I know if I was in the FL’s shoes I’d have died of embarrassment 🫣)!

Through their journey to get her healthy & their cohabitation to keep her safe, they develop a strong base for their relationship to be built on. Once they become a them, they’re so adorable. Their chemistry is so natural & easy right from the start, I immediately shipped them.

We see them both be each other’s strength. When his old injuries & disease flare up, she’s there to encourage him that he can handle the pain & keep moving forward. When she’s struggling to kick bad habits & overcome health issues, he’s there to keep her on track & remind her she’s worth it. Where one is lacking, the other steps in & helps cover the slack. It’s such a beautiful portrayal of a couple who are truly partners in all things. There’s some real emotional scenes that produce all the feels so be prepared to swoon & get your heartstrings tugged.

Bonus: the bromance is wonderful & worth watching just for them. The “big brother” they’d follow anywhere, the sweet “middle brother” who’s a professional fighter, & the quirky “little brother” who’s constantly speaking in Kenglish (Korean + English) - I loved them so much! And how they include the FL in their tight circle of 3 (now 4) is just *chef’s kiss* 🫠

What you think makes you unloveable is the very thing I love about you…

A love story between an airline director & a top actress who are each doing their best to live with & conceal unusual phenomena. He suffers from prosopagnosia, while every month she transforms into someone else for a week.

I love these Leads. Truly. The way they both handle their individual struggles without allowing it to control their lives is inspiring. They’re both at the top of their respective fields & nobody has any idea about what they’re living with each moment (except for those they’ve allowed to know.) Remarkable.

They start off on shaky ground with their feelings closer to hatred for one another, but even so, they automatically protect the other’s secrets (even before they realize there are secrets to be kept). I laughed at their antics, wanted to slap them for their missteps, & rooted for them with each scene they drew me into.

Once their truths are revealed to each other, their protection of one another becomes that much more intense. The ML had me swooning over his love for his woman so much! And the FL had so many “you go, girl!” moments that made me cheer for her so hard. Seriously, as individuals & as a couple, these two rock! And it really makes you ponder the depths of love - would you stay with your partner if they couldn’t recognize your face? would you still love your partner, no matter their outward appearance?

The ending beach scene with her walking towards him in so many different forms = perfection *chef’ kiss*. Seriously one of the greatest moments of the drama & such a perfect ending.

Major bonus: the friends in both Leads’ lives rock! 💖

Will love take flight?

He just wants to be ordinary. She’s anything but. It’s a rough start for these polar opposites, but as they interact more at work, can they become friends… & let love take flight?

This is a beautiful story about a man with a disability learning to accept himself & allow the woman he loves close enough to love him back.

The ML has always protected the FL, even before they officially meet. The scene of the first time he did it? Amazing! And all the times he protects her throughout the rest of the drama just make me love him so much! He’s so worth my swoons!

Even when he’s irritated with her at work he always steps in & helps her. There’s just something about her that draws him in which causes him much confusion.

For the FL, she’s intrigued by him. He seems like a walking contradiction to her with how he’s pulling her in one moment only to push her away later. But even as he confuses her, she’s drawn to him (& so am I!)

I enjoyed this look inside what it’s like to work in an airport. It was interesting & not something I’d thought of before.

The Leads are super cute together. I loved watching them go from being leery of each other to becoming one another’s person - the one they value, trust, & love above all others. They’re forced to go through a lot of hard stuff so I’m glad they got the ending they deserved. 💜💚

And, I won’t give much detail, but the whole portrayal of living with a disability & trying to hide it to protect yourself - I feel it was really nicely done. I also appreciate how they showed how it can be for both the one who has the disability & for the one who loves them. It brings struggles to each person, that’s just a fact. But disabilities in no way render a person unworthy of love so I’m glad they showed that message accurately.

As a HUGE bonus, we see Rowoon as the SML & Nam Da Reum as the young ML.🩵

The pain & the cure

A beautiful story of helping someone heal in the way they need to, not the way you want them to. It’s both the pain & the cure.

This ended up being different than I was expecting from reading the synopsis. A lot deeper & heavier than I anticipated, but I adjusted to it quickly & was drawn into their story.

The ending is rushed & I heard it’s ‘cause it was intended to have 16eps but got cut to 12 so some important things are missing BUT it’s a HEA so it’s saved from being a total waste.

The FL is an inspiring character. Though she’s had a really hard life with no real home to speak of since she was orphaned, she isn’t jaded or closed off from others. She remains an optimistic & hopeful person, believing everything happens for a reason even if she may not yet understand the “why” of it. She’s a kind & hardworking woman who finds enjoyment in her work, especially when it brings the ML into her orbit. One look & she’s smitten. The more she learns of his story, the more intrigued she becomes. Girl falls & she falls fast.

The ML, however, takes some time to allow his feelings to get involved due to past traumas. He fell in love with his childhood friend & has held a torch for her ever since, despite her getting married & cutting off contact with him (I believe at her husband’s insistence.) He’s attracted to the FL, but he doesn’t want to acknowledge it or he’ll have to face that he needs to move on & let his past go. He’s not cruel, just sort of closed off. But he slowly begins to heal & open his heart to the connection he & the FL share.

As they spend time together while working & growing closer, they find that two different halves really can make a whole. I enjoyed their interactions so much. Sometimes they made me ache at the hardships they’ve endured. Other times they made me swoon at their total loveliness together. They really are a precious couple & I wish we’d gotten more of them.

The support characters added a lot to the story. Some their stories are just…wow. I really recommend this if you’re in the mood for something not fluffy & over-the-top tropey. It has all the dynamics we love in a kdrama without being too OTT.

Contract Marriage Turns Real?

Full of tropes & a bit cringey at times, I did still find some enjoyment in this. It definitely gets better once the Leads acknowledge their feelings.

A contractual marriage between the cold, “male god” professor { Wei Zhe Ming } and his calm, sunny student { Xu Ruo Han }.

Due to outsiders that cause misunderstandings, these Leads experience some unnecessary drama, imho. However, neither of them ever have eyes for anyone else {despite what the love rivals may believe!} As they navigate their fake relationship, the feelings become more and more real… until nothing feels fake anymore.

They’re a really cute couple once they’re on the same page about making their marriage real. I was rooting for them the whole time. I love their awkward innocence that leads to humorous moments. I like what they bring out in each other & the bond they develop. They have good chemistry, as “enemies” then reluctant partners, as student & professor, & finally as friends turned lovers.

This is a sweet love story with a guaranteed HEA & no real drama trauma so if that’s what you’re in the mood for, give this one a chance.

PS - FL’s drawings are a fun bonus!

Conspiracies. Secrets. Growth. Love. A lot is happening at the Police Uni.!

Just jumping right in..

The ML { Daniel Kang } is a rule follower who doesn’t rock the boat. Aside from his best friend, he’s a loner who seems aloof & cold to others. He’s following in his father’s footsteps & is only focused on graduating at the top. This means not challenging the way things go or questioning authority. But he’s about to meet someone who changes his thinking.

The FL { Chae Soo Bin } is a lively & friendly girl who followed her crush to Uni. in hopes of winning his affection. But as the days pass she finds her heart leading her in another direction. With every hardship she faces, it’s the ML who’s always there to help/comfort her & he quickly becomes a friend she relies on.

I loved the Leads. They’re such a wholesome couple. Witnessing their love blossom amidst hard stuff [ bullying, corruption, rivalries, & de@th of loved ones] was so beautiful. It brought light to their dark moments & gave them hope when life was overwhelming. They have such a solid relationship that nothing could ever make them walk away from one another. ❤️‍🩹

And their chemistry is so good! They have lots of steamy kisses that make your heart flutter! 🔥🫠

The secondary characters who form a friend squad with the Leads add to the story, not detract from it. With their presence comes drama, but that makes it more realistic. They made me laugh & they broke my heart (when you see the scene you’ll know EXACTLY what I’m referring to!). They believed that justice should always win & that nobody should be above the law. While they didn’t always get the results they wanted, they never gave up or quit trying to unveil the truth. I really liked the bond they formed & how they grew to be so loyal to one another.

Endearingly Beautiful

**Let me preface this by proudly stating that I’m a big fan of both this original Chinese version & the Korean remake, “Family of Our Own”. They both have their strengths & weaknesses. I like some aspects of “Go Ahead” better, while also preferring other parts from the Korean version instead. I like the cast of both versions & the characters they bring to life. Yes, there are tons of similarities - that’s to be expected when they’re made from the same story. If that bothers you then my advice is simply this - don’t watch one version right after the other. 🤷🏻‍♀️😉**

This is a truly wholesome family drama. The widowed father of a little girl takes in a young abandoned boy. When their neighbor’s wife leaves him & their son behind, the two dads form a new family unit for the three children in their care. And the bond of friendship they develop along the way makes them the most non-gay, “married couple” of the ages, haha. They’re so great!!

Where once these kids used to be alone, now they’re being raised as siblings. The studious brother, the sporty brother, & the mischievous sister. So vastly different, but yet similar in many ways. Their bond is perfection at all ages - kids, teens, & adults. I laughed so much at their antics. Plus, the depth of their loyalty, protection, & love for each other is beautiful. I just adore them 💕

Watching them as youths is a delight. Seeing their pain when they’re separated is brutal. Experiencing their distance upon reuniting after 10yrs is bittersweet. Witnessing them each finally get their happy ending (2 of them together! 💍) is everything 🩵💜💙

Note: my only complaint is that the ML’s mom got off way too easily. I understand forgiveness & familial ties, but she was so toxic & evil to him that I wasn’t happy with the ending the writer(s) gave her. Being blood isn’t a free pass for abuse 😠.

A Healthy, Youthful Love

An Olympic pistol shooter + the trainee reporter assigned to his team.

A connection he can’t remember; a love she never forgot.

The ML is so singularly focused on his goals that he comes across as cold & dismissive to those outside his close friends. So when he meets the FL, he can’t understand why he’s so unsettled by her. Why does this girl affect his concentration so much? He doesn’t know who she is… or does he?

The FL is determined to her tasks well for her new job, proving her worth & talents to her boss. When she goes out on assignment & encounters the ML, she’s shocked to see the boy she’s always loved. But why does he seem like he has no idea who she is?

When circumstances & responsibilities cause them to interact more, will they find the answers to the questions they’re both asking? As their relationships shifts & a bond is formed, the mystery of their shared history starts to be revealed. Will their love be strong enough to weather the storm when the truth is made known? Will they be able to heal from the mental trauma they’ve both been living with?

I’ll tell you truly that I love this show. I thoroughly enjoyed each episode as the Leads’ relationship progressed from distant & suspicious of one another to tentative friends/roommates. Their journey from there is so pure & sweet to watch!

They’re both strong, independent individuals. They’re focused on reaching their personal goals & neither is afraid of the hard work it requires. I love when a couple is on equal footing, meaning they both bring something to the relationship rather than only being “takers”. This duo is a great example - they each have their strengths that they lend to one another when the other is feeling weak. They encourage & help each other in everything, 100% supporting & believing in their partner’s dreams.

I enjoyed their personalities, too, & how their differences were highlighted. Neither was better or worse, they were simply different. Again, they each had their strengths so neither Lead outshone the other. Rather, they used their strengths & talents to help each other just shine that much brighter, which is how a healthy couple should be! Whether in public or just at home together, they were each other’s safe place & closest confidant. I love that! They’re both so deeply protective of one another, too, that their first reaction is always to shield the other. No icky person or wicked scheme will succeed because these two are simply too solid to be taken out by “villains”.

This is a really calm & easy watch that I often return to when I want a sweet love story without any typical drama-trauma tropes - no drawn out misunderstandings or messy breakups, no evil family members or wanna-be love rivals, & no need for big brain power to solve anything. This show allows me to just simply relax & enjoy as the Leads fall in love…

LOVE This Reset Couple!

{{If you haven’t watched season 1, HIGHLY suggest you watch that first, otherwise you’ll miss out on some key points & nuances of the characters. Then be sure to follow this one by watching season 3!}}

Chief surgeon Dr. Kim is back & ready to teach his unique life lessons to the two new “problem” doctors assigned to Doldam Hospital.

In this season we meet our beautiful Reset Couple. I love these actors. Their chemistry & banter is perfection. They have this rival classmates turned frenemy coworker energy happening & I was so there for it. I loved watching their bond deepen as they navigated this new hospital & discovered their own strength. Their whole relationship makes me 🫠.

The Doldam family is still aces. I loved seeing familiar faces as well as meeting new staff members. Their bond is tight & they’re all still invested in the patients versus any profits.

With a new season comes a new “villain”. Thankfully, this one redeems himself. Rivals turned friends is always a good ending.

Out of all 3 seasons, this one remains my favorite simply because I LOVE the Leads & their chemistry, so I adore watching them fall in love again & again.💖

Note: this is a medical drama. There are side stories & romances that get you invested, but they aren’t the focus. The medical cases take center stage.

Soooooo Good!!

She’s a former public prosecutor turned independent lawyer who’s fallen on hard times. Though struggling, she remains optimistic & hopeful her luck will change.
He’s a seventh-generation photographer of a very select clientele - ghosts! Afflicted by a familial curse, he’s short-tempered & living in fear.

When they meet sparks fly…and not in a good way. Misunderstandings lead to a mutual animosity & distrust of one another. But then he discovers she’s a “safe zone” for him - she repels the ghosts that constantly attack him. Getting her to believe him, though, proves quite difficult since she’s mistaken him for a criminal. He finally convinces her & she reluctantly agrees to protect him for the next 100 days, not knowing that when he leaves it’ll actually be because he’ll die from the curse, not just simply move away.

As they spend time together, a whole different set of sparks begin to fly. I love watching them go from enemies to allies to friends to lovers. Their journey is precious & so satisfying to see. Their character growth as individuals & as a couple is so good. Their bond is heartwarming & the depth of their love for one another is amazing. They have such great chemistry, too. Their kisses & skinship are swoon worthy. 🫠🔥

The plot & pacing are very well done. The story sucked me in & I never got bored. This is such an emotional drama that pulls on the heartstrings. I laughed & I cried multiple times. And I was left with a profound need to hug my family & make sure they all know with 100% certainty that I truly love them. ❤️‍🩹 So kudos to the writers & cast for making me feel so much with this one. 👏🏻

A Healing & Mature Love Story

A hotel concierge & a psychiatrist with traumatic childhoods form a heartfelt bond while becoming entangled in a perplexing murder case.

I loved this drama. The familial ties, the deep bonds of friendship, the mix of workplace relationships - they’re all portrayed so perfectly within the episodes. I really enjoyed the way they delve into & reveal the different characters’ stories. That can so often be dull & detract from the drama’s main plot, but here they managed to enhance the story rather than distract the viewers. Well done, writers!

I knew going into this drama that it was going to be more of a melodrama due to the topic & synopsis. I did not, however, know that it was going to have so many humorous moments that made the characters so darn real & relatable!

I was rooting for our Leads from moment one. Their chemistry was immediate, though they didn’t recognize it as such. I loved the friendship they developed on a foundation of mutual respect & trust. I loved how they always supported one another & instinctively sought each other out. Their connection was truly heart warming - experiencing them falling in love amidst the crazy circumstances; seeing them both learn to heal & become victorious over their past traumas… so satisfyingly beautiful.

Everyone has a story to tell. And every single story matters.

I highly recommend this drama if you’re wanting a solid story portrayed by a talented cast with great chemistry. This is a drama where adults act their age while facing real life struggles in mature ways. A healthy romance that’s a must-watch, imho!

Beautiful & Comforting Love Story

First Love.
Forever Love.
**happy sigh**

This is such an easy drama to watch. The atmosphere & slow pacing make it so calming; a show to enjoy while snuggled under a blanket with a warm drink. It’s mostly angst/drama free so I wasn’t left feeling emotionally drained. It’s just a beautiful & believable portrayal of two lovers who know the pain of losing one another &, now reunited, refuse to ever let go again.

I enjoyed the layout of this story, the way we were experiencing their history in their memories, meaning the breakup has already happened. That format just flowed really well for me watching this story. Sometimes I don’t like that set up, but I enjoyed it for this particular couple.

So our Leads met while in high school, intentionally on his part. She’d caught his eye so he worked things to his favor & made it possible for them to meet. She quickly came to return his feelings of infatuation & the two began dating. They were separated when he left for the necessary training for his future career, but both vowed to never break up. Unfortunately, they were forced to endure some painful stuff while apart & that coupled with the FL’s immaturity eventually lead to them breaking that vow. It was a split that neither actually wanted, but they let their stubborn pride keep them from reconciling.

When we meet them, it’s 10yrs later & their worlds are once again colliding. Their reunion isn’t a happy occasion as they’re both unsure of how the other feels about them now, but us viewers can plainly see the love & longing in each of their eyes. After a decade apart, the chemistry flares anew between this bomb tech/SWAT Team Leader & the woman he’s never stopped loving. And I was so there for it!

I’ll tell you right now that one of my favorite things about this drama is the lack of push and pull (I, for one, am NOT a fan of that sort of angst & drama between a couple.) **‼️🚨MILD SPOILER ALERT🚨‼️** Their intentions are stated within the first 10eps. Once the ML deals with a messed up family situation ((uhhh - hello!? You can’t accept an engagement for your son to someone he doesn’t even like without his knowledge or permission just to cover your debts!! What the heck is wrong with people??!!??)) that his ridiculous father gets him involved in, the ML wastes no time in claiming back the woman who’s always been his. They’re both all in to be together again, which means we get them as a beautifully devoted couple for a full 20eps! {PSA to all drama writers - more of this, please!! 🙏}

They don’t breakup, have childish misunderstandings, or pull a dumb “for your own good” disappearing act. They’re a solid unit & absolutely nothing will tear them apart again. *happy sigh* Their drama is all in the flashback scenes - them in the present have both matured & learned from their mistakes. Mistakes they both acknowledge & openly discuss, which is very well-done, imo. They don’t pretend as if it never happened, nor do they hold a grudge or any resentment towards one another for their part in their past relationship failing. They both know they messed up, they choose to forgive each other’s mistakes, & now they’re fully moving on without making each other carry any weight of blame or regrets. I really liked the depth of character growth & maturity shown by this part of the story & how they are together.

Speaking of how they are together - this couple is absolutely precious. They have great chemistry, both as friends & as lovers. 🔥🫠 Their affection seemed so natural that I easily got absorbed by & lost in their scenes. They had a whole conversation with just a single glance or a simple touch. They said so much without ever saying a single word. They were head-over-heels in love & they made sure to express how much they cherished their bond. Neither one ever had reason to question or doubt the other’s feelings since they were both very intentional in demonstrating the depths of their love & affection. I was happily invested in this duo & I don’t regret a single moment I spent with them.

I highly recommend this drama to lovers of romance without any big plot twists, angsty tension, or delulu characters. It’s a cast of [mostly] genuinely good people just living their lives & doing their part to make the world better. The close bonds of friendships add to the story, heightening the pleasure of witnessing the Leads’ love for one another. 🩵💜

Modern Day Love @ it’s Finest

A workaholic general manager of a fashion group company + a young woman about to study abroad. Can their connection survive the distance?

Okay, I’m just going to start by telling you that I am in no way a fashionista. Do I like pretty clothes? Yes. Are they a big focal point of my life? Not at all. I mention this for anyone who’s unsure about watching this drama since the plot line revolves around the world of fashion - that’s not an interest of mine but I still thoroughly enjoyed this drama thanks to the Leads’ stellar chemistry. Even though I didn’t understand all the fashion terminology or the business decisions or even the reverence & value certain design techniques hold, I still appreciated the hard work the characters were putting in to make their goals & dreams a success. You don’t have to understand someone’s visions to admire their heart. 💜

This show falls in the opposites attract trope. He’s from a wealthy & affluent family while she comes from a lower income, single parent home. He’s the head of a well-established company while she’s still in school. She’s quirky, optimistic, & a dreamer while he’s more serious, task-oriented, & focused. None of these things are marks against them, I’m simply stating some of their differences.

Despite these things, though, this duo forms a friendship after an initial misunderstanding at their first meeting. The ML is entranced by her from the start, but the FL isn’t quite so impressed. Nonetheless, after their paths keep crossings & their interactions increase, she finds her feelings for him morphing into something more than a general liking. Then the annoying female wannabe love rival gets in her head & makes her doubt him, leading her to leave for her studies abroad without letting him explain. That doesn’t deter the ML, though. As soon as he’s able, he’s following behind her to figure out what happened.

Oh, how I love his pursuit of her. While I think the FL acted somewhat childish & petty with her refusal to just hear him out & trust his side of the story, I do understand that she was operating out of a desire to protect her heart while believing he was involved with another woman. Let me tell you - I LOVE the scene where he finally puts those notions to rest, confesses she’s the one he wants, & kisses her for the first time. It’s a fan your face & melt your screen type of kiss, which I am such a fan of! 🔥🫠 I’m so glad that this drama didn’t have any lame, fish-kisses but instead gave us lotsssss of good smooches for us romance lovers to enjoy!

Like I mentioned earlier, the Leads have amazing chemistry & it never eases off. I know sometimes, once the Leads are finally a couple, their chemistry & flirting kind of fizzles out {{ PSA to the writers - we don’t want that!! Make their chemistry strong for the whole show! }}, but that’s not at all the case with this drama. This duo is affectionate & very clearly attracted to one another the whole way through. 🤗

Once they clear up the initial misunderstandings, both confess their feelings, & officially get together - that’s it. They don’t let anyone come between them (& boy do the love rivals try! 🤦🏻‍♀️😡) This couple actually t.a.l.k.s. to each other when crud happens which is super refreshing (thank you for no drama-trauma, Writers!) I know others have complained about the FL’s “baby-ness” when she’s with the ML, but I didn’t find it annoying at all. I actually quite enjoy their duality - both were cute & quirky with each other while being strong & no-one’s fool with the rest of the world.

I’m a BIG fan of them not being weak in the face of the rivals or giving those people undue attention. They both put boundaries in place with those pesky “friends” who kept trying to pursue them & break them up. I think this shows that the Leads have respect for themselves & for their significant other. There’s no need to cater to & entertain toxic people. Buh-bye, delusional people! (Although they didn’t actually go away in this drama, this just finally clued in that they didn’t stand a chance & eventually moved on. 🤷🏻‍♀️)

One thing I didn’t like was the ML’s mother. Um, lady - who do you think you are that you deem yourself so high & mighty that the FL isn’t worthy of your family name? Like, really?? We’re all human beings, equal in value. I’m glad the ML NEVER gave into her selfish demands, though I wish she would’ve had a harsher wake up call instead of them just going about their lives & waiting for her to get with the program. BUT I understand it’s his mom & outside of this annoyance of hers, they had a good relationship. I loooooved the way the FL handled her - kudos, girl! She stood up for herself while remaining respectful of her position as an elder.

I could rave longer, but I’d rather you stop reading this & just push play to experience this drama’s beauty for yourself. 💕
