Sweet but Strong Young Love

A genius physics student + an accounting major end up living together prior to graduation. Can these opposites survive the upheaval the other brings to their routine?

This couple is really cute once they clear up all the misunderstandings & confess their feelings for each other. I wasn’t really all that invested in the first half of the show, tbh. It’s not bad or anything, I just didn’t get drawn in. I did quite enjoy it though once the Leads were together. Their interactions were super cute & the way they show their love for one another is adorable. 💝 I really appreciated how protective and supportive they were of one another, never holding each other back from pursuing their dreams. They were a good portrayal of a healthy relationship and proof that not all young couples engage in unnecessary drama.

Drama Free Love!

This is such a sweet love story filled with fluff & cheese but I still love it. 😍 It’s one of my go to comfort drama rewatches.

The Leads are so great together. Once they fall for each other, that’s it. No matter how many wanna-be love rivals come on scene, these two just keep being upfront and sending them on their way. I love how they never leave any room for doubts or misunderstandings. When “issues” arise, they talk stuff through in a respectful manner. Very refreshing!

They’re sweet and quirky; supportive and encouraging. They’re loyal and true; protective and caring. They make each other a priority and refuse to let outside forces influence their relationship.

They’re a good example of an online relationship transitioning perfectly into a real life love. I won’t say too much, though, as seeing that develop is the fun of watching the show. 🤗

My only complaint would be the fish kisses. Whyyyy must that be a thing? Seriously, people don’t actually kiss like that in real life (or at least I sure hope they don’t!!!) It’s not like they needed to have some steamy, make out sessions. I’m fine keeping it sweet and innocent, but if there’s gonna be kiss scenes then BOTH parties should be participating. Otherwise it seems like the stiff, awkward one isn’t really attracted to their partner (and I’m saying that for all dramas of all nationalities, not just this specific show!) The FL’s lack of response really ruined some tender moments, so I def wish I could just snap my fingers and fix that part, haha. Even with that complaint, though, l’m still happy with the show.

Oh, I guess another tiny annoyance I had was also with the FL’s bestie - the way she handled the situation and her treatment of the FL because of it was all really immature and selfish, imho. I know friends fight but that? That was just petty and juvenile… (again, can’t say much without giving too many spoilers). I’m glad there was resolution fairly quickly and they left the drama behind. I just wish that trope had been executed differently. 🤪

Have you watched it? What’s your opinion - like it or not really your style?

Humor & Heart for the Win!

A woman goes on a blind date disguised as her best friend only to learn the man is the CEO of her workplace. How will she keep her identity hidden when he proposes a contractual marriage?

The love story of this chaotic duo is both hilarious and heartwarming. Filled with crazy antics to keep the secret from being exposed plus happy-dance inspiring scenes of the Leads (and co-leads!) claiming and protecting one another, this drama definitely delivers a fun watch.

I’m not a fan of the intentionally deceiving people about your identity trope, but I still quite enjoyed this show. The cast does a great job portraying their characters and all the things they’re going through. Plus, there’s amazing chemistry between the four main people. Both sets are total friendship goals AND couple goals! 💖 I loved how there wasn’t any backstabbing or drama trauma between the four. They had each others backs and were 💯 loyal and true. And they took those same characteristics into their romantic relationships.

I loved the interactions between both couples and how they could all be so different yet complement each other so perfectly. They found strength and healing with one another and I think that’s such a beautiful testament to the power of love. And I really loved how these independent, successful, hard-working adults were still really playful and innocent individuals. I think it’s a great message that we don’t have to become harsh and unfeeling to survive in this world. Kindness is a strength in and of itself 🙂

What Would You do With a 2nd Chance?

She’s { played by Kim Sa Rang } a prosecutor who’s always been admired for her looks. He’s { played by Ahn Se Ha } a brilliant heir to a cosmetics company who’s always been overlooked due to his “unattractiveness”. Both tragically meet their demise but are granted a second chance. Will their second lives go better than their first…?

In new bodies, things have taken a turn - he’s { now played by Ahn Hyo Seop } now the attractive & sought after one, while she’s { now played by Park Bo Young } discovering what it’s like to be overlooked. As they navigate their new reality, they team up to unravel the mysteries surrounding their rebirth. And along the way, old feelings are rekindled & love blossoms. 💕

This drama poses the question - if our outward appearance matched our inner selves, would we be more or less attractive? For our ML the answer is hecka more - he’s so kind, generous, loyal, & genuine. His love for the FL has held true for decades, though he felt unworthy due to his looks, never knowing that she liked him for his heart all along. If only he’d been brave enough to take a chance & confess…
For our FL, the answer is a bit different. While not a shrew, she does start off as arrogant & a bit entitled due to all the attention she’s always received. Peel back the layers, though, & we discover a woman worthy of the ML’s devotion. 🫶🏻

This wasn’t my fav work by either lead actor, but I still enjoyed it. There’s good character development & the story is entertaining enough 🙃 I laughed at their antics, I worried if they’d get a happy ending, I hurt for their pain, & I cheered for their triumphs. So while I probably won’t ever watch it all the way through again, I’m glad I experienced their story with them.

A Love I Won’t Forget!

A privileged good girl + a genius bad boy. Will they let each other inside their walls?

From the first moment they share the screen, the chemistry between the Leads is 🔥 and it never quits. Their eyes show everything! The attraction, the love, the heartache - it’s all so palpable that I was totally drawn in.

The ML is just all kinds of cute. He makes you feel all the feels as he proves he’s unbeatable. The way he gets back up after every punch life throws his way is commendable. He doesn’t react in the best ways so his character growth is great to see. When he meets the FL, she’s a game changer. She’s the only one he lets close, the one he trusts above all others.

The FL starts off judgmental but not in a cruel way. And she admits when she’s wrong and makes amends. Her drive to succeed is admirable, though we later learn the toll it takes on her mental health. When she starts to see the real ML behind the mask he wears, there’s no stopping her heart from deciding he’s her one and only, her forever love.

They’re both flawed but, in each other, they find their home. The trust, loyalty, and devotion between them is truly heartwarming and swoon worthy . And once they reconcile, man…. 🫠

If you haven’t watched this yet, I think you’re missing out on an epic love story of finding the courage to fight for what’s yours while holding tight to the one you’d give it all up for.

***I loved them so much that I couldn’t handle seeing the breakup scene so, no lie, I totally skipped those drama trauma episodes & resumed watching after the time jump years forward. 🤫

You’re Gonna Need to Decide for Yourself…

She’s a painter; he’s a sculptor. Both are strong-willed perfectionists who are unimpressed with the opposite sex. Both are happily single. And then they find they’re becoming happier when together..

Despite this drama having one of my least favorite tropes (clingy, wanna-be love rivals - soooo annoying!), I found myself enjoying it after the first several eps. The FL initially has some serious misperceptions of the ML which irritated me, but once they become friends & he starts breaking down her walls, I got more into the story.

I love the ML’s immediate notice of the FL. He’s the unattainable guy who’s aloof & seemingly cold, but for her he totally melts.🫠 I know some of his actions were questionable & got him labeled as a red flag to many of the watchers so I think each viewer has to decide for themselves the kind of guy he is… & I’ll just leave it at that.

The FL is friendly with everyone & really naive when it comes to the SML’s feelings (which truly bugs me when characters are like that but whatevs), but she has a good heart. Which gets her into trouble sometimes since she allows the female love rival to manipulate & bully her for too long. Plus, again, her total obliviousness to the other guy’s obvious crush on her. {Lord, save me from some characters’ stupidity. 🙏🏻🤣} She’s unfamiliar with all the feelings hitting her so she flounders a bit, but ultimately chooses to follow her heart. Which leads her to him…

They’re cute together, imho (their height difference definitely plays a part in this!) I often rewatch the episodes after they get together when I need a fix of innocent love 😍

Nothing overly complicated or super deep. Just a fairly easy watch about youths figuring out who they are & what they really want to do with their lives, all while experiencing the rush of first love.

Bonus - they both have really solid friend groups which is always pleasant to watch.

Him + Her = 4ever

They were childhood best friends until a misunderstanding tore them apart. Now reunited at college, can their bond be repaired or will they forever remain apart?

The ML’s an avid archer & national defense student. Seen as aloof & prickly, he’s different with the FL. His feelings for her run deep but he’s never had the courage to confess.
The FL’s majoring in veterinary medicine. She’s well-liked & cheerful, seeming very happy with life. But no one sees how much she’s hurting from her family falling apart. Nobody but the ML.

This is a sweet story that shows how much of an impact divorce can have on a child, as well as how healing support & love can be. The bond between the Leads ( + FL & her bro) is truly precious. Having someone to catch you when you fall is powerful!

It’s not all heavy though. There’s humor too. Plus great friends & bitter rivals. Crushed hopes & new dreams. And Leads with a bond that can’t ever be broken.

Childhood besties turned strangers turned frenemies turned friends turned lovers - their journey is full of ups & downs with twists along the way. But that’s just life in all it’s beautiful messiness 💝

Not Spectacular, Not Horrible

The ML is a cold & level-headed vice-captain of the Fire Rescue Team. The FL is a “sunshine” doctor in the Emergency Department. Their first meeting went awry, leaving them with misconceptions of one another.

When they’re put on a joint task force, will the bond they form amidst an earthquake relief mission survive the coming infectious disease outbreak?

The Leads are super cute together & have really good chemistry. Their story progression definitely drew me in & held my attention. I liked seeing their professions complement each other. Watching them work alongside one another amidst the natural disaster is really beautiful - the way they trust & protect one another… 🫠💕

I’ll tell you straight up, though, that I am not a fan of breakups. Like just…whyyyyy put us all through that?! 🤨 That said, thankfully it came & passed early in this drama so we get to see them happily together for the majority of the show - score! And when a situation arises that could cause them to permanently split, they handle it maturely & easily, which I’m grateful to the writer’s for. 👍🏻

Also, in the vein of being upfront & honest, the SML (role, not actor!) lessened my enjoyment of this a bit ‘cause he just annoyed me that much with his refusal to accept he wouldn’t get the girl. He does redeem himself in the end, though, so yippee for that!

Overall I enjoyed this. The plot/pacing was good & the teamwork/friendships of both Leads’ coworkers was really nice to watch. The secondary love stories of their colleagues were entertaining as well.

Don’t Analyze It, Just Watch It

Residents of an apartment building must band together to survive a deadly virus that is spreading throughout the city.

The ML fell in love with the FL in a very memorable moment in high school (iykyk). They remained close friends into adulthood, where he’s now a smart and honest detective and she’s a special agent with quick wits and reflexes…and another special quality as well - she’s immune to the virus!

She shocks him when she requests he marry her to help her win a spot in the newly constructed apartment buildings - thus begins their cohabitation. Smack dab in the middle of a horrible outbreak with deadly consequences.

As they work together to protect one another and their fellow residents, they also must uncover who the murderer is hiding amongst them. Can they keep each other safe amidst the chaos and mayhem surrounding them? Or will an ultimate sacrifice have to be made to protect the “greater good”?

I loved this. Not my normal genre, but I’m a fan of the ML so I gave it a shot and boy, am I glad I did! The leads have amazing chemistry and the story/pacing are done really well. So many great support characters and enough humor and cute/sweet moments for a romance junkie like me 😉 So even though it’s not about a love story, it’s still totally about a love story. Watch it and you’ll know what I mean!

** Side Note: I do NOT like scary shows, but this didn’t at all bother me. If you’re leery, though, maybe just keep a light on 😁**

More Than I Expected…

She’s a funeral director with the ability to see the souls of the recently deceased in her care. She’s been tasked with granting the last wishes of 21 people or her days will be filled with bad luck. *Full disclosure: it took me several episodes to warm up to her.*

He’s a former doctor just trying to survive each day after his younger brother dies. He now works as an errand boy willing to do any legal task.

Their “meet cute”? Her boyfriend hires him to break up with her… 😳

I really liked this drama. It’s heartwarming watching the Leads’ relationship develop & the bond of friendship deepen into a healing & unshakable love for each other. The friendships they each share with their own crews are beautiful too.

It’s also heartbreaking because it makes it real that death is final - we don’t get a second chance to say goodbye or tell those dear to us how much we love them.

I really loved our Leads, especially the ML. I appreciated that he drew very clear lines with the SFL & didn’t allow for misunderstandings with the FL. I liked that the FL never entertained thoughts of the SML (which, with his character twist, thank god!) I adored their care of one another & how, when revelations were made & later tragedy struck, they never broke up or let each other face it alone.

And I LOVED how the ML never hesitated to hold the FL’s hands - total swoon worthy moments! (iykyk) ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Easy, Sweet, & Relaxing

A boy falls in love with his idol and vows to become someone worthy of standing by her side - will he succeed in this endeavor?

Okay, I adored Wu Bai in Go Go Squid so I was so happy to get his story! And while it does help in some aspects to watch them in order, you can also watch them as standalone dramas and follow along fine since the details do differ between the two (which confused me at first, but not enough to detract from my enjoyment.)

So our ML sees our FL at one of her competitions and immediately falls in love with her. His feelings for her set him on a course of entering into the same field as her and becoming one of the top contenders in the sport. He sets a goal of 300 wins and then he’ll make his move for her. Because of her seniority, in both age and profession, he knows he needs to prove himself worthy of her before he makes his feelings known.

Y’all - this guy… 🫠 He’s so precious and the FL is so blessed to have his full devotion. His love and support of her never waivers. They develop a beautiful friendship and a deep bond of trust and respect. When he wins her heart, they’re just adorable. I love their chemistry and the way they don’t allow their roles as competitors in work to impact their partnership in life. They’re truly couple goals. 💚

I found them to be a really easy duo to watch. They were both genuinely good people, well-liked & highly respected by their peers. They were loyal, steady, & true - to themselves and to one another. I loved how they encouraged & protected one another in equal parts. While it may seem at times like the ML is more invested, the FL does show her love for him in numerous ways. They’re very equal and well-balanced, both fully invested in nurturing and safe-guarding their love.

If you watched the first season, I definitively think you should watch this. There’s cameos of S1’s main leads, plus the beautiful wedding scene for them all. So precious!

Chase Your Dreams. Follow Your Heart.

A genius, straight-A student falls in love with a former esport “god” - a reticent man uninterested in her pursuit. Will her determination pay off or is she bound for heartbreak?

Full honesty, the FL’s obsession with the ML is super cringeworthy, imho, and almost made me drop this drama. I really couldn’t relate to her at all and was super embarrassed for her during her scenes with him. BUT the more episodes I watched, the more I came to adore the girl. She’s just so pure and innocent, and completely devoted to loving the ML with everything she is.

And he needed that. Someone to be on his side and fully supporting him because of him - not his title or his fame, but simply because he’s Han ShangYan. And that’s exactly what Tong Nian gave him.

Watching him fall for her is so fun. Her bringing out a gentler, more youthful side to him endears her to those who love him. Him recognizing her strengths and determining within himself to love her the way she needs from him is so sweet! 🫠 The Leads have really good chemistry and bonus, his team of boys are a delight to watch 😍!

Each time I rewatch this I fall a little bit more in love with them 💕

Do Yourself a Favor & Push Play!

An aspiring violinist waking up from a 13 year coma. A troubled man bogged down by misplaced guilt. Can they find healing and embrace life as adults?

This is such a heartwarming show. Our Leads have such a beautiful bond that deepens to unbreakable levels. Without knowing it, they’re helping each other deal with the after effects of the same traumatic event. Through their love for one another, they find the strength to allow themselves to heal and move forward with the life they’ve been given.

Watching them choose each other day by day is so satisfying and brings forth all the feels in my heart. I know this is a super short review, but I don’t want to give too much away! This is a drama that’s best enjoyed when you go in blank and just let the drama itself fill in the pages 😉

Bonus: the SML’s friendship with the FL and family ties with the ML are so wonderfully written and portrayed. PSA to Writers: Love triangles don’t have to be toxic! Seeing his development and how he selflessly steps aside for the Leads to love without interference is totally swoon worthy. 💚

Sweet Fluff & Cute Love

When a studious, young woman agrees to tutor a wildly popular superstar, neither have any idea how much this arrangement will change their lives…

I really enjoyed this drama, though I found the ML annoying & childish at first. But I liked him more as he matured & worked to better himself, for both his career & to be able to love/protect the FL better. He has a closely guarded secret - he’s mostly illiterate. He can usually hide it, but sometimes he epically fails. Thus his request for the FL to tutor him & help him prepare for an upcoming role he wants to play. And so their chaotic but sweet story begins…

The FL is such a kind soul. She’s recently been betrayed by her bf, the cheater. I admired how, despite her pain, she remained sweet, mature, & strong. The ML rescues her from multiple awkward encounters, endearing himself to her. As they spend time working together & cohabitating, their partnership quickly turns to friendship & mutual attraction.

This is a very healthy duo. They respect & fully trust one another, never letting outside opinions influence their decisions regarding each other. The FL does leave when her presence impacts his career, but the ML chases her down & lays her fears to rest. And the way he proudly announces his love for her to the public is ACES! He defied everyone for her & it was so sweet!! 🫠🫠 I really enjoyed this drop due to their relationship. It’s silly & fluffy & cheesy which makes it a very easy watch.

Just Laugh & Enjoy

When an elite NIS agent is forced to pose as a student, his assignment becomes more tricky after several misunderstandings with his Korean history teacher. He’s determined to solve the case + solve the mystery surrounding his father’s disappearance; she’s desperate to become a full-time faculty member & be a good teacher. Will they keep getting in each other’s way & stay “rivals” or will they discover an ally in one another?

This has both heart & humor; mystery & action; villains & heroes. There’s the cruel reality of bullying & the toll it takes. There’s the heartbreaking loss of a parent. There’s the bonds of found family. There’s the beauty of reunited childhood “loves”.

The cast did their roles really well. They made us root for the good guys & detest the bad ones. Loved the students’ stories & character growth. And kudos to the mega villainess - her ability to portray such a psychotic woman deserves a round of applause. 👏🏻

Overall I enjoyed this drama. My one complaint would be that I wanted more romance between the Leads. They’re both such great actors that it felt like such a wasted opportunity that we didn’t actually get them as a couple until the last scenes so they just felt more like buddies. Regardless, though, it’s still a good watch.
