This version would always be the best for me, the iconic one, it was better written and acted, the cast was perfect.
I often see comments here and other websites of people saying that they prefer the K-version just because they find the male leads cuter looking and younger pretty much or that they don't like the half-baldness? which i don't undestand since that's the hairstyle of that period so I just accepted it I guess, I didn't even thought about it, I had already seen other films before with that style so that's probaly why. To me all the male leads here are attractive, manly and yes they were older but they were supposed to be older, they were not flower/boy band looking male leads, they were still handsome I thought, also the FL is better written and her perfomance was better too. The Korea version felt like something like a manga adaptation with modern music which just seem off, a weak FL, more romance and yes the production might have been higher simply because it's from 2016 but high production doesnt make a drama better. If you want something a bit more mature and with deeper story watch this version, perhaps with less romance, though it has its cute/ romantic moments too and the chemistry is very much there after all the two leads are now married in real life, I guess the main actress also found the ML attractive and didn't mind his age either.
I find it kind of funny how some people say they feel uncomfortable with the second lead couple age difference since Nicky Wu who is 50 (40's in the drama I think) and the actress is 26, while in real life Nicky himself is married to his Scarlet Heart co-star actress Cecilia Liu who is 17 years younger than him and they started dating when he was 42 and she 26. I would never understand why people get so worked up over age differences anyways as long two people are adults, more so when it's just characters, but oh well. I have not started watching the drama yet so will see how it goes but looking forward to seeing the 4th and 14th princes together again.
Re-watching these drama and I still loved it, not perfect by any means and some scenes skipping but the two leads chemistry once they start to fall in love again is so good. I really enjoy Kim Hyun Joo acting once again, I mean she's basically playing three different characters, glad to know she won a couple of wards for her performance, she one of my favorites.
And it also is implied that he already has kids. The hopeless romantic in me wants the ML and FL to be exclusive.…
ML has two kids from a previous relationship whom he doesn't married, but when he breaks up with her, she leaves and a few years go by before ML and FL even get together. ML remains completely faithful to the FL during their marriage even when others keep pushing women on him, he keeps refusing sleeping with other women even after FL tells him she's okay with it, because she thinks that a wife should be not jealous but there is other are deeper reasons why she acts like this, if you get to know her character well you will understand. It might get a bit annoying how she keeps pushing him to accept getting a concubine and he will get upset and angry about it in a number of episodes but she has her reasons, in the end he's never unfaithful, so no sharing with other women although she might get jealous at some point about someone. ML is completely devoted to the FL and does anything to please and make happy her as she slowly opens up to him. To me this one the best love stories I've seen, a couple were both are smart and strong in their own way and who despite their different personalities make a amazing couple and I love how they showed their affection through little actions, the actors look really comfortable with each other.
I though this was like video game or something when I first knew of it years ago, either way I read that the two weren't even on the same room for the filming, but I haven't seen it so don't know if they have any physical contact.
I really want watch for SHK but another noona romance for her? why? please cast with a older A list actor like her or just any great actor over 35+ years old. I hated DOTS (not chemistry), try Encounter, I really try really hard but I just don't like PBG for some reason not just because he is younger, there is just something about him I find off putting, so I drop it. I usually avoid noona romances because the guys seem to always be too perfect, too nice, cutesy or cheeky and FC is cold or icy ( I rarely like cold FLs), at least in the dramas I seen or know of. I hope at least this one is bit different, but not having much hope, I haven't seen this actor in anything yet so I don't any opinions of him yet in terms of acting skills or the kind of roles he plays but please I hope this is not just the usual noona romance. I haven't loved any SHK drama since TWTW where she plays an icy character but still I loved the drama not only for the story and acting but also because of who her ML was, an actor her age. I don't have a problem if actor is younger but like 2-5 years as long he looks the same age as FC and is not a noona romance story exactly. I still don't know what kind of drama this is going to be, so who knows I might like it after all and I just hope no SLS (which I rarely get), but the actor is older I'm already thinking I might like him more.
Honestly I don't think the two leads divorce it's going to affect my love for this drama, in their statement they pretty much said they don't regret meeting and falling in love and they did their divorce clean and quietly unlike some celebrity couples I've seen from various countries. Also they got a beautiful son out of it, they will always be linked somehow so their union while short was worthwhile for them I'm sure and for me too. Sadly I wasn't that shocked since they both have been working non-stop since the birth of their child and they barely seem to spend any time together, it just wasn't meant to be long term for them. The thing it does bother is all the haters who seem to celebrating and keep talking trash about FSF and bringing up their rumored exes, I just wanted them to show to all those haters wrong I guess but still we fans will have this amazing drama.
Bit sad seeing the ratings go lower but oh well to each it's own I guess? I really loved this drama, I was entertained, invested, really liked the romance (don't get some of complaints about it) and just didn't care about the so called flaws, I think some viewers just nitpick to much on dramas anyways. As for the ending I didn't mind it at all, didn't pissed me off like some other endings I've seen for some reason, though I do have a bit of complaint about it, but overall I was still was okay with it. I get annoyed when people expect perfect logic/sense and consistencies in sci-fi stories, I guess I just want to be entertained and get emotionally invested in the characters so I don't complain about every little detail in the execution of the story, specially fantasy ones.
If you are thinking about watching it just do it and make up you own mind don't judge it for the ratings or some of the negative comments here and don't think to much about it, just enjoyed it and if you don't after a few episodes then dropped it. I was actually bit bored on the 4 episodes but I still curious so I continue and by 5-8 I became really invested and it just better and better with each episode in my opinion, to me it was unique and different.
I've been waiting for this kind of article for so long, I just finished the drama on Friday and I can't move on yet, love it, imperfections and all, I was so entertained. PSH and CSW need to work together again their on chemistry was so good and their off chemistry was freaking adorable and funny, they look so comfortable with each other. Very nice article.
I love this so much, I don't care what anybody says, are there plot holes? sure but it's science fiction and there always imperfection in kind of stories anyway. I was so invested in the story I didn't mind the flaws I guess, I like they explained things slowly too and I actually like the ending and the more a read the various theories of what it the ending could mean I makes me like it even more, and I'm not one those people that always need a clear happy ending. I usually avoid time-travel dramas but I was curious because of JSW and PSH casting, I'm so glad I gave it a chance, they were both good and had great chemistry. In the end I was very entertained and so emotionally invested, I don't regret watching it.
Still loving and re-watching this amazing drama, if your thinking about watching go for it don't bother about some of the comments give it a try and decided for yourself you might love it or not that much (that's fine) but this is for sure not a bad drama to the point of hating it either. Beware it starts very slow, not boring though and I recommend not skipping scenes not matter how long they may feel, I'm glad I didn't skip anything. The story just gets better and better as it goes on and has a great happy ending, so rare among C-dramas.
It's been a while so I can't remember where I saw it anymore. You could checked on YouTube since recently a lot of older C-dramas had been posted there but you have to search under the Chinese title only, I found few titles like that myself.
I absolutely adored Family's Honor, one the best family dramas. I know I'm in the minority but I actually didn't care for the main couple, I prefer the other three supporting couples, but still love the drama as whole. I Ioved all the characters and seeing their growth, I even liked the leads though I didn't care for their love story, I still liked seeing with their family members. I cried, laughed and I really loved the ending too. I actually prefer older Family Dramas generally, my other favorites are Pure 19 (2006, a daily drama but these are also Family Dramas), Golden Bride (2007), Life Is Beautiful (2010), Family (2012), Come! Jang Bo ri (2014). I think KBS does the best Family Dramas, which get huge ratings mostly too and are usually lighter as well. SBS, MCB does more makjang types, I think is kind of sad that neither network does Family Weekend Dramas anymore due to really low ratings, except their usually morning daily dramas, but I still got many to catch up from 2015-2019.
Family dramas always gave me this warm feeling inside, I love the families interactions scenes, the sibling love, the grandparent/parent-children relationships, the supportive or funny family members, the various romances there is usually like 3-4 couples in one show so you can take your pick, so I don't understand people who find them boring and skip all except the main romance, which sometimes I find the least interesting compare to the other couples. I also loved how they go deeper a lot the times with the romances showing the process from dating to marriage and babies, the difficulties of bringing two families together and being a Korean DIL and yes sometimes there is that annoying parent usually the MIL but sometimes they can be supportive too.
I know this type of dramas may start slow and sometimes some of the characters are not likable to all but that's what I liked seeing character change/growth, I don't expect all characters to perfectly likable from start but by the end you will missed watching the these families members. When Family Dramas are done well, they are really good, some are honestly not very good or bad/boring but those are usually the daily ones I think, the ones with 120+ episodes, though I have loved some, but still prefer the Weekend ones with 50+Ep.
Can people just stop it with age gap complaining, if you are that sensitive about age gaps involving fictional characters then don't bother watching then. I don't understand people who complain about age gaps anyways, as if only only people with 2-4 year gaps fell in love and people with bigger age gaps, there is something wrong with them or can't have a great connection, even if that might be true for some, for many others it does work and as long two people are over 21 and match each other well who cares?, and did they forget this is FICTION, they are acting and yes in real life people big age gaps can also fall in love and be happy.
I'm so sick and tired of all the age gap critics with so many dramas, saying is dirty, disgusting, problematic, they could be child/parent, seriously? Would they say this to the faces of a real life couples with 10+ age gaps, you are this and that? without knowing anything about them just because of their judgement. Finally, people once again this is a DRAMA, they are actors doing their job and this is a story between and older man/younger woman unless they want all these kinds of dramas cancel too, just don't watch or at least watch before judging. I actually had noticed so many times the best chemistry is between characters is with some/big age gaps specially when the man is older. Anyway wrote too much, critics or not, I'm looking forward to start the drama, flaws and all.
Why change her previous profile pics where she looked so beautiful compare to this picture?, I mean she still looks pretty but not a very flattering picture in my opinion. People keep changing profile pics of various actors for weird ones, do they do it on purpose or something?
Why do people keep adding new dramas to her list that had not been confirmed at all? Most of those dramas seem to be fantasy casting created by C-fans or fakes, none of these titles have been confirmed, so fans don't get too excited, she does not have all those dramas coming up, except one.
