So before I ask, I'd like to state that my questions come from honestly just wanting to understand the issue of biphobia in the first ep better.
A lot of people are accusing Karleen as being biphobic and hating her for it. And I can see why they are saying this, but given that she said it because of being hurt in the past, would this still be considered biphobia?
Because I was thinking - and this might not be the greatest example, and maybe I'm comparing apples to oranges (and if I am, please let me know). But let's say a gay person who is out refuses to date a person that isn't because they were hurt in the past by someone that insisted in staying in the closet. Would this be considered as being a kind of phobia as well? And is this example more or less hateful than what Karleen did?
I wrote a review based on the 2 episodes I've seen and now it is miraculously gone. Does anyone know why this…
I can see it when I click on the reviews tab. Reviews are not shown on the main page while the show is currently airing - they only appear once the show is done.
Gav initially came across as a superficial guy but as the series progressed we got to see different sides of him.…
The entire series really was just shot with iPhones (including the scenes where Gav and Cai meet)! You might want to check out the YT channel of Kokoy De Santos (the actor who plays Gav). He has some BTS footage of ep. 13 uploaded, and it's fun to see how creative they were in shooting different scenes.
yes, the witness got a phone call from DMS accomplice after DMS & village foreman died.
Oh, I think I get it now. I was assuming that because Do Hyun Soo heard the ice chipping and the "Would you like an ashtray," line, the call was made at the same time that he and his dad were at the bar. I guess the call was made at a later time, and the same things were going on in the bar during said time. Thanks!
I apologize if this has been discussed before, but I'm currently at ep. 12 and I want to avoid spoilers so I don't want to go through all the comments. I just have a question on the timeline? So... when the witness to Jung Mi Sook's abduction gets the threatening phone call, Do Min Seok's accomplice threatens her by saying something like..."Didn't you see what happened to the village foreman? That's what happens to people who meddle..." But wasn't the village foreman killed only after Do Min Seok's suicide? How does this sentence make sense? Or am I misunderstanding it?
If this gets cleared up later on, please just let me know without spoiling it, and I'll wait and see. :)
It is a part of the Filipino culture, one that should change but in the meantime we can enjoy the show and try…
I agree with @dgbanc re: the insecurity with dark skin. The number of times I've heard the sentence "She's pretty even though she's dark-skinned," is pretty appalling.
OMGGOSHHHHHH I loved loved loved that Judah was so brave! That part gave me such sweet thrill which is hard for…
It was such a pleasant surprise! I also loved how it highlighted the very Filipino tradition of the wooer asking to court the potentially wooed. I do agree that this and Gameboys feel more like gay dramas (which is probably why I appreciate them more). However, I prefer to see it as these shows trying to set a new normal for all future BLs. :)
I have a question about the finale (sorry if this has been mentioned already): in the final kissing scene, where…
Gav was still in Cavite (where he lives), a province in the Philippines which is maybe a 2 to 3 hour drive to Metro Manila (where the airport is). It looks remote because in most provinces, there are more houses and farmland than buildings.
Yeah, I'd say not taking his car was an inconsistency. I'm going to fanwank that his car was under coding restrictions so he had to find another way to get to the airport. Heh.
Gameboys, the highest rated Filipino series of all time on MDL, is now ranked #30 overall -- this is the highest…
And all episodes now have a rating of at least 9.2!! Episodes 12 and 13 are the highest with 9.9 ratings. :) (Heh. I feel like I should be embarrassed with how invested I am with the success of this show).
It's been 2 freaking days and I still can't believe this is over T.T How do I move on from this help me please…
The separation anxiety is real. I'm not even trying to move on. I've been dealing with it mostly by watching reaction videos, scrolling through their tags on Tumblr, and checking in on here every few hours. Heh.
