"They say when a person changes suddenly, it's time for them to die"Really? Who says that (・・ ) ?
I've actually seen this quote in a number of other Korean shows I've watched. I take it to mean that once a person learns that they are dying, they have a change of attitude - become nicer, kinder, etc. Sort of like they're trying to make up for all their past actions. And to make the most of the time they have left.
Siu Muk did it because he believes it would be good for Tin, he doesn't have any excuse to give to explain all…
Has he though? I can't recall a time Siu Muk has talked to anyone about feeling confident about Tin's feelings for him. What I do remember (and I do think this is especially telling) is Siu Muk telling Darren that he wasn't sure that Tin liked him or was happy with him.
It is frustrating that he couldn't just talk to Tin about his insecurities, but Siu Muk has always been emotionally constipated. When he broke up with Darren, he also refused to talk about his feelings. He just handed in his resignation letter and then said he had to go and meet a client.
And while I agree that Siu Muk was in the wrong, I could still empathize with him. It's easy to say that they should talk it out (I've even said it myself), but really...talking about your feelings is hard. Telling someone about all your insecurities and fears and making yourself vulnerable to getting hurt is downright terrifying. I actually don't see his actions as him trying to be noble or sacrificing his own happiness for Tin's. I don't think he made this decision thinking he wanted what was best for Tin. He broke up with Tin because he was afraid that Tin might eventually realize he didn't really like men, and that he would be left for a woman. He chose to get hurt now rather than get hurt in the future (when it would feel so much worse).
Tin and Siu Muk are both kind of a mess, but I like them anyway. The thing with Tin is that he's not very assertive. And we see this on the get-go with his poor performance in Sales. He's kind, maybe even too kind, as he has a hard time saying no to people. Siu Muk knows this, so when Tin agrees to be in a relationship with him, he worries that maybe this is just another instance of Tin being unable to say no. Because he doesn't want to scare Tin away, he doesn't try to change anything once they get together. And his fears aren't necessarily unfounded. Tin (being the disaster that he is) kept pushing him away for a while there.
I do believe Tin genuinely likes Siu Muk though. The show constantly contrasts the way Tin is with other people (mostly KK), and the way Tin is with Siu Muk. I really like their interactions and the ways they show that they care for each other. They just really, really, really need to sit down and talk about their relationship and what it means to be in one. We have 4 episodes left (I haven't seen the 12th yet - no spoilers please), so here's hoping.
You can buy tickets at ktx.ph. However, right now they only have screenings for the Philippines available. I believe they're still working on the logistics for International ones.
I'm watching this with my sister (we just finished episode 7), and there's one thing that's really confusing us? When they arrest Oh Ji Hoon and later Park Jung Je, they say it's because they were the last persons that saw Kang Min Jung. But...that's not true? When Han Joo Won got Kang Jin Mook's statement, didn't KJM tell HJW that he saw his daughter when she got home? Why didn't the Violent Crimes Unit know this? Did they fail to get this information from him? And even if they did, why didn't HJW say anything?
If this gets explained later on in the series, please just let me know to wait and see (as I don't want any spoilers). But if there is some detail that we missed, could someone clarify for us? Or is this just a plot hole?
A part of me still wishes that Chu Ying somehow appeared in modern China with his own little happy family and…
You should watch ep. 35 of Dear Missy. Around 7 minutes into the ep., Shi Guang (the character) makes a cameo. It's not exactly the scene you're wishing for, but watching it made my heart so happy. :)
there was too much toxic yelling in the series. Not realistic in real life. Cannot listen to each other. And in…
I disagree about it being not realistic. Everyone I talked to about that scene said they've been in situations like it, except they've said worse to each other. If you scroll down, many of the comments said they felt uncomfortable watching the scene because it felt so real they felt like they were intruding into something very personal. And sure, it wasn't the healthiest way to communicate, but they stopped before it could get worse, and then they tried talking about it again when they weren't so angry.
I don't understand your sex comment? Did you want to see it? Or did you not want them to have it?
But here's what I *really* don't understand. Your first comment on this show was about three months ago, and you pretty much said the same things then as you are now. You keep coming back to this page again and again and again. Why? Because honestly? I don't think it's very healthy. In fact, I'd say it just might be - and I'm going to use your favorite word here - toxic. Maybe do yourself a favor and try to move on?

And also, I don't think I can ever listen to "Hanggang sa Huli" again without tearing up.
