This drama is a boring mess. The only reason why I finished it, was because of comments of people liking it. It never got better!

I didn't read the novel nor do I compare dramas to the novels, so I'm glad not to have that bias. I would agree too that novels are usually always better, however the standard chinese drama template applies here, just like any other drama.

This drama is one of the few that I have rated higher than the average. This is only because there are people who rated it lower for whatever reasons they think is valid.

I did watch Princess Agents. To me this drama is slightly better than average, I'm assuming that's because the story and the characters are so good (I didn't drop it). There are some issues, but nothing more than any other Chinese drama. I would go into details, but I'm just going to write a review.
For myself I think the actress HTT did a great job, she had big shoes to fill and while I'd prefer ZLY obviously, I could substitute her in with now issues. It didn't bother me. I should say the whole cast did great, and were quite attractive. The beginning was a little jarring, but once I remembered everyone it was better.
If you're interested in the story by episode 9, then you should finish the drama. I say that because that's when I realized I would finish the drama, your mileage may vary. I believe it's a worthy successor to Princess Agents, but I rated it .5 lower because it just didn't have cool enough fights showing CQ's expertise.

I'm very particular about my dramas, I like Zhao Liying, and I also watched Princess Agents. I'm now at episode 9 and I'm enjoying this drama for the most part. This drama is definitely underrated, I'll circle back once I've complete it.

I like her part in Rebirth.

I hope to see her in something longer in the future.

Was 233 the last episode? We'll regardless, I enjoyed watching it, I give it a 6/10, a long watchable fantasy series that's terribly cliched, inconsistent, and disappointing in the end. I actually liked Terra and tbh I watched the older versions and found them not any better than this version although I couldn't finish them. I also liked Mitena but was incredibly disappointed her story and how everything turned out.
I would suggest watching this series slowly especially if you are a fan of fantasy and if you are tired of the usual Chinese Korean fantasy dramas.

Funny in Veil of Shadows, it's nice to see other talents showcased in drama.

I was going to drop this, just because I'm not interested in the world, but after watching four episodes I'm starting to get back into the story and I'm liking the women in this (not sure why are the men are annoying though). What happened to her powers? Or her past? I hope that will be answered.

While they do flashbacks in this drama using the new actors and actresses, I would suggest watching Princess Agents.

It's crazy that she played little Chu Qiao in Princess Agents and now 9 years later she's playing Chu Qiao. With that said, I like her, but I'm going to wait for more episodes to drop.

You're only <25% through the series. I say come back after another 10 episodes. Big stuff happens in the next couple of the episodes.
