Because it’s the first time feelings are involved. It was scripted to be that way from the beginning.
Yes, what I meant is that the nc scenes before were purposefully weird and cold, almost comical I'd say. A plot device. They were meant to be that way to show the difference between hedonistic sex only made for personal pleasure in which the other person is just a mean to an end, and loving sex where you take pleasure from the other person's pleasure and is amplified by love and longing.
Why don't they just talk?!!! You sit down, talk it out, explain what happened and your emotional reaction to it. It's not hard at all!! Then again, if couples just talked their misunderstandings out, we wouldn't have 90% of bl series.
This show requires patience. If u like vertical drama speed , it isn’t for you. But ep 6 is so full of love…
That’s what I said. People who only look for explicit, over the top romance will be disappointed.I get that it might not be everyone’s cup of tea but it is What it is, they will enjoy other types of shows. Was it advertised as a great and grand love story? Perhaps the bl label was wrong as there are no no boys here

Every word you said. I think people don't really get that before going on with your life and building a new future, you first have got to let go of your past. This series requires watchers to tune in with the symbolism it depicts. That banana bread means so many things in its simplicity. But you need to pay attention to the deep meaning of things. And may I add, to be aquainted with Japanese adult productions and their top notch ability to show, not tell. Of course if you're only in for the romance you'll be sorely disappointed.
I blame it on the fact that I too recently lost a parent and with my sibling have to make choices and decisions about a lot of things, family house included. It made me so involved with the feeling of "letting go". Leaving that house, worse, knowing that that house will be demolished with all its memories past is harsh. It's like cutting the last ties to your life past, to the people ho inhabited your everyday life. The scene where Kuji mistakes for a moment Sakutaro for his late mom working in the kitchen was heartbreaking. The banana bread shared with the brother in the family house veranda for the last time while reminiscing days and people long past, in a bittersweet whirlwind of memories that are strictly tied with the place, and knowing none of that will ever happen again is so melancholic. All the what ifs and could have been, all the people who, for better or worse, impacted with your life, your childhood, all gone. Letting go is the hardest (and healthiest) thing I've ever done in my life.
literally this! I dislike how many of them have been so disappointing in the sense that they have nearly zero…
I admit I had to google her as the name didn't ring any bell, but of course I remembered her as soon as I saw the picture. I watched the show when I was a child and I must say your comparison is spot on! :)
Yes, it's exactly the same but lighter! Since the manhwa is still ongoing, I guess the drama will take its own separate path at some point. So I'll keep watching.

I'm totally with you about the prudish streak. I don't know why so many young people are so scared of the portrayal of physical intimacy, be it between lovers or just for fun. Not to mention the absurd accusations of SA everywhere and the even more absurd rage against age gap. As if there were only one right way to live life and if a character (mind you, a fictious character!) doesn't abide to that standard then it's rubbish. Sorry, I got carried out of topic. 😅

I've already explained my opinion in the previous comment. It's not that sex is unimportant, it's just not he most important thing. It wouldn't add to the plot at this point of the story. As far as I know they might be having sex all the time and we just don't see it, I don't need to see it. (Not that I'd mind 😉). I guess we have different takes on this and it's ok. By the way, just for the record, I'm very far from being in my mid-70s either 😄

This is not my experience as an adult. The older I got, the least interested in sex I became. It's still important, yes, but not as much as when I was much younger. So I guess it's not the same for everyone. For the characters in the show companionship seems to be the main focus, not sex. Of course, some action now and then is always welcome, but I don't think it is what binds them together. At least it's not their main connection. In my opinion, we don't get to see them having sex regularly because it would move their relationship to a level where the physical interaction blurs the emotional struggle of trying to keep their distance. They aren't in a romantic relationship at the moment, so it's not really a given that they should be having sex.
I was really anticipating this show, and I’m glad to say it didn’t let me down. On the contrary: it’s even better than what I Made up in my mind. I Just hope it’ll stay consistent and take no disappointing turns later on (as was the case with other recent shows). Let’s stay positive.
Kuji San's house is the 3rd main lead of the series!
Absolutely true! I rewatched the episode just to focus on the smallest details of the forniture and the everyday objects scattered around the place. It gives an added feeling of truth and bridges the gap between the scene and the audience. I feel like I'm there with them and not just watching from the outside. Like I'm welcome.
