This story did nothing but exhaust me.Fighting serious and heavy mood was all we had after 5 eps. But the story telling and progress didnt made it worthy for me like at all. I didnt liked lead guy I didnt liked secondary lead guy. I only liked female lead character(and her brothers in army) and the way actress portrayed her giving her all! It was so nice to watch for once a character not giving a demn about her WHITE JADE skin or her PERFECT JADE face and did go ALL OUT while her scenes including dirty faces, muddy clothing, stratches on her and her character went through war scenes all the time...She never hold back from having mimics and expressions while figthing, screaming or acting coy.Bravo. Im so glad ending happened the way it did. I always wanted this kind of ending for some my fave female leads in these costume dramas...

His character and his partner Huang Riying's character is the secondary couple there. They dont have enough screen time its a shame BUT its a very worthy lighthearted couple with unique characters. I completed it because both leads are people I follow works for. I cant really call myself their hard die fan yet Im also not a passerby fan. Their characters and what they went through was worthy to watch for me. Story was very close to real life and so was filming,styling/clothing & places they filmed. One of the reason why I felt closer to story was because of one of my oldest fave CNovel called: My Mister Ostrich. Of course that novel was a lot more precious and detailed in writing BUT it had many similarities for lead couple and their story. IF leads werent in this Im afraid I would have dropped it. I dont regret watching it BUT I also wouldnt come back to rewatch because they didnt add more meaningful scenes for leads together... its a shame really that would have make this story more heartfelt... I really like how tranquil these two's chemistry is in both dramas they acted together. Its like some couples which went thro stuff and they reached a place where they are both calm & comfortable together. Their dynamic feels exactly like that to me in both dramas.. Soundtrack wasnt that memorable but I really liked ending song: Song of Sunflower. It feels very melancholy and 90s to me. It makes me think of childhood memories somehow :')
I only watched her in Rebirth for You. She was the empress dowager and grandma of Ju Jing Yi's character. Their relationship was soooo sweet and heartwarming also bitter at times just like novel of drama. They had lovely sincere scenes together she made me miss my grandma for real...

ALSO the acting talent from both leads, its so natural and sincere, very straightforward they dont hold back while acting and really have this chem between them in between intense argument scenes but then they are like 2 silent cat enjoying sun bathing XD Its the exact similarity with Cdrama: Master of My Own! I cant imagine having another people playing these leads in both dramas their acting sit that well with their characters.

I thought I was jaded over a decade that I was dropping series or just skip-watching only some parts of them. I couldnt really call that as watching esp with all those frustration and disappointment feelings for scripts. This made me see I wasnt jaded for asian dramas they just dont try their best while writing,directing & acting. I dont even want to change any single moment from what Ive watched.Everything felt like as it should be. This is the story & character I will always remember whenever I watch Song Yi nd Cheng Lei now. They ve got chance to portray characters I will rewatch many times thats it. Im so proud and lucky to have both as lead here.

Im not surprised about many accusations for celebrities by now. I just felt disappointed that many of bullies didnt even go back to those people before going on stage to be known later on. Just go and apologize sincerely is it really so hard really... I dont get high ego people. Will it kill to show a lil bit of regret of past situations... Wouldnt it be easier to move on slowly from wrong doings/unfair times by both parties even if apology comes so late.... Just be sincere and you will see the results surely..
