I would say it's a typical romcom c-drama (cute/funny/some PTSD/find-out-they-like-eachother-bc-jealousy) but Xiao Bao is sooooo cute. And the actors have really great chemistry. I've been noticing recently the importance of micro-expressions in acting (and Miles does it well). The first couple episodes I thought it was really predictable, but I have to admit, I'm not so sure about (and am eagerly waiting to find out) the full truth in the last 2 episodes that have yet to release. There are some antagonistic characters (what's a drama without a few) but it doesn't get me worked up. And some judgements/decisions seem clouded but not unrealistic.
How is this related to My Neighbour Can't Sleep? I haven't watched either of these shows, but it says it's the…
I think its same screenwriter + director (like @oneclearnight mentioned) and also similar theme about neighbors, living together (I think?), a sweet romance. Similar to like how people link The Love Equations, PYHOMS, and A Love So Beautiful which share the same writer and theme of cold ML and bubbly FL who are students, etc (although these stories are actually part of a trilogy of books).
At first, the FL didn't want to be a reminder of the truth but now the truth is out, she wants to be there for…
Yah she is lucky that she found out he knew before leaving...everyone in this drama is taking the situation (possibility of the ML feeling guilty) really seriously (aunt literally pays a guy every year just to keep a secret, the senior says he had a patient in a similar situation a few years ago that is still unable to get over it). I'm no psychologist but the guilt of accidentally killing your closest family member seems pretty heavy. I think the FL might have chose to leave because she didn't want him to remember (she wouldn't know what to do...and she still doesn't know what to do). And especially bc the ML had been getting more dreams of his brother recently means that he could've remembered it himself soon if she stayed with him. Not saying it's right, but an alternative storyline could've been to leave the country for a bit and come back after giving some thought/creating a plan on how to deal with the ML's trauma. Truth would've came out eventually but could the treatment be better after spending time for more research? Who knows.
Such a bummer turned to misunderstandings breakups after confession...deym dropped i thought this was good
I wouldn't classify their breakup as a misunderstanding...because the FL broke up with the ML because she was afraid of triggering his bad memories. ML agreed to break up with FL because of the guilt he carried from the bad memories after knowing the truth.
I wouldn't say the aunt is necessarily bad, she just made some iffy decisions (a little selfish) she wanted the ML to be mentally stable and ready to take over the business and XiaoBao. If anything, she just didn't have confidence in his mental strength (and/or thought the possible psychological damage would be way worse). Now looking at how the ML handles the truth it looks like her fear has been materialized (but I think since the FL is patient and was part of the accident, the ML will be able to get better). Pushing the ML to wed Lin Wei is pretty annoying but this is quite normal in the business conglomerate drama world. At first she was against the ML and FL because it was a marriage just for XiaoBao (a fake marriage but there wasn't even a business benefit. whereas Lin Wei has a business benefit) and later she was against them because she was afraid the FL might trigger the ML's memory. Not saying that the aunt was right but I think most of her decisions that we've seen so far can be from the perspective of trying to do what she thinks is right for the business and her family.
Will she be the real person behind the accident? At first I thought definitely; but after seeing these recent episodes I'm not sure again. There's definitely a possibility especially with the possible car problem but we've yet to see the truth.
I finished Ep 18 but after seeing the raws of Eps 19-22, this is a drop for me. I'm not a fan of last minute break…
At first, the FL didn't want to be a reminder of the truth but now the truth is out, she wants to be there for him. It makes sense. FL's logic really doesn't hold up to her profession (her decisions regarding psychological issues don't seem sophisticated) but its not out of realm for an "average joe"
This is one of the first dramas that I couldn't binge...not because it was boring (I kept coming back to this but I couldn't watch it as quickly as I normally watch dramas) but because there was so much drama I just needed to breathe sometimes HAHA A true feat to create a drama that allows viewers to pace themselves while not being bored, if you ask me. And its really hectic having like 2 main couples, 2 main side couples, and 2 or 3 side side couples and all their "affairs" but somehow the story still flows. Its very clear that the main focus of this drama is exploring what love is (happiness/pain, romantic/family/friends) and not necessarily the full story of the cps (everything happens over a few weeks anyways, its just a snippet of their story). All the characters were so unique, and the acting was solid.
Please explain more about this Lin Mo dude I don’t mind spoilers. He just popped up In episode 4 and I feel…
I think Lin Mo's character is really predictable (what you think will happen probably will happen). But just to give you spoilers: Lin Mo is here to avenge the FL's sister bc he was in a relationship with the sis when they met on Earth, then she got killed and Lin Mo decided to stay on Earth to figure out how she died. So yah, it's been a really long time before he's had any breakthrough (he thinks that ML killed the sis when ML was in grade school). FL doesn't know of Lin Mo's identity until much later (past half-way) and Lin Mo doesn't know FL's identity until maybe half-way he's just sus at first bc she looks like her sis. There's some misunderstandings and attempted murder but in the end it works out. The main CP's relationship once they are together is totally unbothered by Lin Mo. His role in the beginning of the drama is to make the ML realize he likes the FL imo. But Lin Mo just has a flirty personality...his heart is still with the sis.
I think the FL might have chose to leave because she didn't want him to remember (she wouldn't know what to do...and she still doesn't know what to do). And especially bc the ML had been getting more dreams of his brother recently means that he could've remembered it himself soon if she stayed with him.
