in the novel he is alive. I think they will keep him alive in the show too. There’s too much set up. Jiusi getting top marks and becoming the man he is today. Jiusi confessed to Yuru that he rarely even called his father ‘dad’ or ‘father’. That his father didn’t believe he could get good grades. And now that his hard work had finally paid off, he can’t even show it to him. Gu Father would be so proud of his son. I want to see that. I can imagine the reunion scene be like. Jiusi calling his father 爹 (dad/father) and then the first thing he says is that he got top marks in the exam years ago.

not to mention Madam Gu is not letting go. She will wait for her beloved till the day she dies.

And also this whole fiasco with Luo Zi Shang

I loved that scene. The man thought his career was as over. Probably thought Jiusi was going to take him over the coals. But he got promoted instead. He’s lucky Jiusi is so righteous and doesn’t hold a grudge.

I’m just annoyed how it’s another story that portrays women as emotionally fragile when men are involved. FL seems independent, strong and fearless. But then she faints out of heartbreak and I’m just like, give me a break. I can’t remember now but there’s more that one fainting scene. Stop making women faint! Just stop!

I heard that it’s a weird timeline thing. When the ML time jumps he meets the FL in reverse order. The first time he jumps and sees her is the last time she will see him in her timeline.

i didn't like that part either, but that kind of scene won't happen again. Literally the next day the forced studying thing goes away. Their relationship moves beyond that very quickly.
