Revenge tale that tasted like dark chocolate - noir, sexy & indulgent

It has been awhile since I last watched Zeng Hui drama. This drama was highly talked about on MDL so I watched it last weekend.

What I liked:
1. Romance - FL seduced ML at every chance she got and damn those seduction scenes were sexy as hell. Their intimate scenes were blazing hot!
2. Acting - Great acting by Han Yu Tong, Zeng Hui & actress who played the antagonist. Zeng Hui with pierced ear is devilishly handsome.
3. Revenge - A carefully planned one.
4. Ending - So sweet!

What I disliked:
1. Change of look - FL changed her looks through cosmetic surgery but I didn't see any difference between before and after looks. She should have worn a different hairstyle & thick glasses before or used a different actress.
2. Duration - I wish this drama was longer. I would love to see FL struggling with her changing feelings for ML and ML's kid.

Favourite scene:
The jacuzzi scene

FL fitting as ballerina, sweet romance

I saw clips of this drama on my Youtube shorts. As I clicked play, this drama's plot seemed familiar to me as I recognised the names of FL, ML, FL's ex and FL's occupation. This is the second version of the plot that I have watched version. The other version starred Wang Xin and Lei Xiaomi.

What I liked:
1. Styling - Wang Xiaoyi, who played FL, looked beautiful in several outfits in particular red dress & traditional outfit that she wore for dancing. I also like the tracksuits. Wang Nan with silver hair looked like anime character - that was cool moment which reminds me of Lighter & Princess.
2. Ballet - I love the scenes where FL danced ballet. Wang Xiaoyi was graceful & elegant.
3. Romance - Sweet romance. Milder intimate scenes compared to Wang Xin-Lei Xiaomi version.

What I disliked:
1. Variety show - There was a solo female contestant in the variety show. It made the show imbalanced.
2. Duration - This drama's duration is 1 hour 45 minutes. I wish drama was at least 2 hours because I wanted to see more romantic scenes.

Favourite scene
FL dancing ballet

Soul swapped, Kickass FL, Unpreditable plot - Thoroughly enjoyed!

I was in the mood for He Jian Qi drama tonight and since I wanted something light & funny, I picked this drama. OMG, such a hilarious drama! I enjoyed immensely.

What I liked:
1. FL characterisation - Kickass, smart, warm, hardworking. No wonder many characters fall for her. Despite being in different body, she never took advantage of ML's wealth. Yu Xiao Wan was cool & effortless in the role.
2. ML characterisation - Started off as brooding CEO but gradually learned compassion & love. I never expected He Jian Qi to be good in this type of role.
3. Romance - I like the development of their love story even though there were lack of physical touch. I'd say their love language is words of affirmation (they communicated really well) & acts of service. Mature & healthy relationship.
4. Writing - Having watched many vertical dramas, I find this drama refreshing. No jealous fiancée, no abuse, no kidnapping. I like that some characters discovered the soul swap as time progressed. Unlike other soul swap dramas, this one has more unpredictable nature, in which it happens during emotional moments therefore leads had no control or exact formula for the swap.
5. Supporting characters - Omg I like FL's sister (she's smart & funny), ML's assistant, ML's blind date, ML's sister.
6. Ending - I have seen a similar ending but this one is slightly different.

What I disliked:
1. Antagonist - Just a small dislike of how the main antagonist was handled at the end.
2. Kissing - I wish there were more kisses!

Favourite scene
When FL's sister tricked FL & ML to confirm her theory

Plenty of kisses & supernatural connection made this drama enjoyable

I watched this drama on 10 January after browsing Zhao Mu Yan's drama list. This is my first time watching Feng Xiang Kun.

What I liked:
1. Romance - It is like a vampire story since ML drinks FL's blood to recover from an illness. Their kissing and intimate scenes were sexy although some looked like rough play. Feng Xiang Kun & Zhao Mu Yan have good chemistry.
2. Feng Xiang Kun - I am a sucker for actors with mole / beauty mark on their faces and Feng Xiang Kun is such an eyecandy. I like his acting despite ML being typical domineering CEO.
3. Connection - Because of the bloodsucking, ML could feel FL whenever she is in pain. I enjoy this arc.
4. Ending - Sweet ending!
5. Supporting characters - I like ML's assistant & grandpa.

What I disliked:
1. Villains - I dislike them esepcially the SFL. However I do think actor who played SML villain did good job.
2. FL characterisation - Sometimes FL behaved like a damsel in distress. Those parts I didn't enjoy.

Favourite scene
The ending

Funny & fluffy romcom

I am a massive fan of Zhen Zi Qi. I have watched him act alongside Jadie Jia so I kinda know what to expect from this drama.

What I liked:
1. Comedy - The comedic bits were led by Jadie Jia. Romcom is definitely her forte.
2. Childhood flashbacks - Omg younger ML & younger FL were so adorable. You'll understand the crush when you watch the flashbacks though I think ML should have a harder crush on FL.
3. Romance - I like that FL took initative at the start of their entanglement. Sweet romance followed suit - I really liked ML caring for FL almost at the end of the drama.
4. Supporting characters - I like the FL's bestie, her younger brother, ML's assistant & FL's mother.

What I disliked:
1. Villains - It sucks that there was an impersonator.

Favourite scene
When ML cared for feverish FL

Revenge tale with spice & tragic ending

Shen Hao Nan is the reason I watched this drama. I have watched Jadie Jia in other dramas too.

What I liked:
1. Acting - I like the dark tone of this drama. Nice surprise for Jadie Jia fans because most of her dramas that I watched are light & more comedic. Shen Hao Nan was also good in his role.
2. Romance - While there were steamy kisses, overall the romantic relationship was one-sided.
3. SML - According to Youtube comments, the second male lead is Wu Yuancheng. He was captivating in his role as ally to FL.
4. Revenge arc - The punishment for the aunt was satisfying.

What I disliked:
1. The ending - Wah, I didn't expect this drama to end that way. FL was too harsh.

Favourite scene
Flashback to confrontation between FL's mother & ML's mother

Light baby mama drama with good chemistry & visuals

I watched snippets of Guo Yuxin & Liang Si Wei drama but wanted to start watching her drama that is lighter. So I chose this drama and gosh it was satisfying.

What I liked:
1. Visuals - I must say Zuo Ming & Gui Yuxin looked amazing together.
2. Romance - The spicy scene at the start hooked me enough to continue watching the series. I love it when FL takes charge of her desire. The kissing was hot. Wish there were more after the time jump.
3. Acting - I was impressed by Guo Yuxin's acting! I enjoyed Zuo Ming's acting - most of his fans said in the comments they were pleasantly surprised by the real kissing. I am curious to see his other dramas.
4. Supporting characters - I like the son & ML's assistant and even FL's friend who is ML's love rival.

What I disliked:
1. Villain - I understand she is jealous of FL but she's despicable for harming FL considering she was her best friend.
2. ML's rash action - I don't understand why must ML offer a house he lives in to his "one night stand". It's not cool to date or have crush on someone when you live in with another woman.

Favourite scene
That one night stand at the start

Smart & sassy daughter was highlight of this baby mama drama

Sometimes I watch vertical drama on a whim hence this review.

Edit: Added new point below because I forgot about it earlier. Thanks Fae for jogging my memory.

What I liked:
1. Zhang Yun Tao - I wasn't familiar with his work but I like his performance in this drama. He did well as a cool, restrained CEO and there is something about his eyes that made me enjoyed this drama. He looked handsome in all black ensemble.
2. Romance - It was slow burn and I could feel the sexual tension between the couple. They slept together twice before they really got together. Though I dislike ML for keeping a girlfriend while somewhat pursuing FL - good thing FL was aware and stood her ground.
3. The ending - I like it because of how villain's real identity was exposed. It's different from other dramas with villain stealing FL's identity.
4. Supporting characters - OMG FL's daughter was smart & sassy. A future girl boss. The child actress did very well in delivering her lines!

What I disliked:
1. Villain - One of the most vile villains I've seen in a drama. She used her child to get what she wanted from ML. It's despicable. Was there no DNA test done?
2. Parenting - I don't like ML's parenting style. He didn't seem to care or be involved in his son's life. Bad behaviour was left unpunished. Plus ML was more concerned about FL's daughter.

Favourite scene
When FL's daughter looked for her mum in ML's hotel room

Enthralling tale of forbidden love with gripping performances

I am a massive fan of Zhen Zi Qi after watching his performance in Sheng Se Quan Ma so I binged his dramas.

What I liked:
1. Romance - Wow, this tale is full of angst and sexual tension. I dislike their dynamics at the start because ML was domineering & condescending. However things changed when FL started to express her feelings for ML. The confession was heartfelt & endearing.
2. Bestie - OMG FL's bestie is awesome. She is protective & respectful of FL. That rooftop cafe scene was heartwarming. The exact embodiment of "chicks before dicks".
3. Acting - Brilliant, gripping performance from Zhen Zi Qi & Quan Rui. Her character is mute but she conveyed her feelings & emotions through facial expressions.
4. Ending - I like how cheeky FL was with her surprise.

What I disliked:
1. Lu Xiao - He invaded FL & ML's privacy & I was shocked by his action. Despicable.
2. ML's characterisation - I dislike him at the start. I don't understand why he didn't want their relationship to be public.

Favourite scene
When FL had one-on-one talk about the hidden camera incident & boat accident

Noona romance with good amount of tension

I am fan of jiejie / noona / older female, younger male romance. Watched this back in December 2024 when I first explored vertically shot dramas.

What I liked:
1. Romance - The sexual tension between FL & ML was very well done. The coupley things they did were sweet.
2. Acting - Sheng Yi Jie's acting impressed me. Ye Hao Ran also did well as younger love interest. His character was youthful & playful but when serious matter arose, he took serious action.
3. Styling - In the first scene, Ye Hao Ran resembled Korean idol Yeonjun from TomorrowXTogether. Other scenes, he looked like Korean idol Felix from Stray Kids. Anyway I love the clothes worn by both ML & FL.

What I disliked:
1. Ending - It's good that they worked through their problem but I felt that the ending ended abruptly. It would be good if there was another scene with both FL & ML happy with their relationship.

Favourite scene
When ML brazenly kissed FL on her cheek at their workplace

Underwhelming mystery-romance tale

I ❤️ Cui Yi Liang in False Face and True Feelings & enjoy Chen Yu Feng's dramas. When I saw this drama advertised on iQiyi, I was pleasantly surprised.

What I liked:
1. Wang Xin Yan characterisation - I like her determination to seek justice for her bro. She's flawed but not silly nor annoying. Cui Yi Liang was great in her role.
2. Guo Xing Ye - Wow, he was visually stunning in this drama. Acting wise quite good too.
3. Revenge - Watched many revenge C dramas and this tale of revenge is quite refreshing. I ike FL devise different strategies to outwit her enemies and how she got ML to become her ally.

What I disliked:
1. Romance - Sadly it is underdeveloped. I wanted more from my two favourite mini drama actor & actress but they didn't provide much tension.
2. Xie Xin Ni - Possessive & vicious. I pity SML.
3. Mrs Xie - Evil & manipulative.

Favourite scene
Blue dress scene

Bland story about strangers in flash marriage

I had watched another vertical drama about paralysed ML and since I hadn't watched work by Zhu Yi Wei and Bai Xin Yi's work, I decided to start with this drama.

What I liked:
1. Chemistry - They are a real life couple and the chemistry was apparent here.
2. Visuals - Good looking cast from main couple to ML assistant, ML brother & SFL.

What I disliked:
1. ML characterisation - The disability arc didn't meet my expectations. In the other drama, the ML's use of fake disability was a test to vet out money-hungry relatives / rivals. He had charm while doing it but not this ML who is quite bland.
2. Romance - This drama didn't meet my expectation of strangers falling in love. I felt there was limit to both FL & ML interactions and I don't see them grow as ally then lovers.
3. FL characterisation - She was meek & crybaby. The other drama that I watched had FL who was protective of her paralysed hubby from start of marriage.

Favourite scene
When ML confronted SFL for overstepping boundary

Good premise letdown by the writing

I am a fan of Wen Mo Yan and Shen Hao Nan after watching their mini dramas, Your Trap & Lost & Found. It was tough to find this series but was delighted when I found it.

What I liked:
1. Chemistry - Wen Mo Yan & Shen Hao Nan proved once again that they had chemistry that translated well on screen.
2. Romance - That first encounter between their characters was full of sexual tension. Their kisses later in the drama are hot. The life saving scene at the end waa sweet.
3. Mistaken identity - FL thought ML was a male model and ha what a great hook for this drama. Shen Hao Nan was well cast for this role.

What I disliked:
1. Plot - I wish this drama had gone darker or bolder knowing that both Wen Mo Yan & Shen Hao Nan are capable of giving layered performances.
2. Rewatch value - Sadly this drama is not memorable enough for rewatch. I watched this drama a month ago before writing this review and couldn't remember the story. So I fast-forwarded to jog my memory and yes, the third act was nothing special.

Favourite scene
FL & ML first encounter in the waiting room

Body swap drama that is very funny & touching

I was browsing Youtube when I came across this drama. I have seen Xuo Yi in other cdrama but Wang Nan was new to me. The comments in Youtube link were generally positive so I clicked 'Play'.

What I liked:
1. Acting - Both Wang Nan & Zuo Yi excelled in their role. They were able to distinguish the personas that they were in.
2. Comedy - This is one of the funniest vertical shot dramas I have watched!
3. Romance - I enjoyed watching how their relationship developed from strangers with animosity to allies then lovers. That kissing scene was hot.
4. Characterisation - It was great to see growth in both FL & ML both in personal & professional aspects of their lives.
5. The ending - It started with being hilarious then became touching & very sweet.

What I disliked:
1. FL's office stint - It felt random because she was an actress.
2. ML's mother - Unbearable

Favourite scene
The ending

Slow burn romance with good acting

I watched this vertical shot drama because of Wang Hao Zhen after enjoying his performance as a douchebag husband who distrustful of his wife but wanted reconciliation post-divorce. I watched this series 3 weeks ago and had watched many vertical drama since then so I can't remember some things. Regret not writing review immediately because I can't find the drama on Youtube anymore.

What I liked:
1) Acting - This series leans more towards drama and both Wang Hao Zhen and Han Yu Tong excelled in their roles. Wang Hao Zhen was great in expressing his character's feelings on his face.
2) Romance - They started off as strangers who married to help each other but later trust and genuine feelings grew between them. Mature romance that doesn't dwell on prolonged misunderstanding.
3) Jin Ze characterisation - I like that he's a doctor who is comfortable making his own money rather than relying on his family's wealth. I also like his patience and genuineness.
4) Song Wan Xing characterisation - I like that she's a school teacher who is compassionate. She can handle her own problems - not a damsel in distress.
5) Supporting characters - I like the grandma!

What I disliked:
1) Villain - I can't seem to recall the things I disliked about this drama but I assume the villain was annoying.

Favourite scene
When they first kissed
