Everyone is just blaming the male - yes he is clueless but I think the FL is making mistakes too- she is not honest…
I was just thinking about it too; did he shut her out? Yes. Was there virtually no communication? Yes. I mean the man left for a different country without saying goodbye. But she acted more like a teenager and maid than married woman and when she had that appendectomy, she didn't tell him either. He's not a psychic. I don't like the way he orders her around or she has to be at his back and call even with the kid. But the man didn't exactly have a loving upbringing, his parents seemed to be more interested in their careers and other things then him, so how could he know what love really feels like or should be expressed? If before she didn't know what to do or how, now she should be an expert. And give the lawyer a chance. At least he's being romantic and whatnot.
Finished subbing this drama (download links below there). This is one of the best short dramas I've watched so far. The chemistry is superb. A lot of costumes and various hairstyles. Nice kissing scenes. Character and story building are smooth. I laughed a lot, also cried a lot.
One "flaw" might be the Empress' memories; she sometimes recalled an event as real memory, but another time she thought the same event as a dream. I don't know if it was the script's mistake or it was indeed how the Empress' brains worked. However, as I myself have trouble with memory, I can understand the Empress' messed-up memories. >_<
One word to describe Li Hong Yi acting here: Amazing! I am in awe watching Bai Yue fragility that spans from episode 18 - 21. It is very rare for an actor, especially as young as he was (22 years old when shooting this drama) to be able to portray weakness to this level.

yep I was right. the criticism is all surrounding male lead's voice so far. even "hippo" trended on weibo yesterday…
Even some international viewers are pointing out his voice for sounding strange 😔 I hope the criticism doesn't prevent him from using his voice to dub his own characters in the future. I'm one of those people who definitely prefer hearing an actor's real voice over a dubbed one, especially if they're playing lead roles.
Guys, uh. I hate to break it to u, but it's a short drama, each episode about 10 minutes, prob 8-9 without opening…
I was just going to say that Brian Chang finally got himself out of the 'short-length series' dramas to star as the ML in a full drama for once. Turns out not. Lol Poor guy.
Watched first episode. Ok the ML is a new actor. I think his acting skill is pretty good . Impressive. As for the FL, I think her personality is a little bit different than the Korean version.
If this keeps going on like this this will be a comfort on air to watch. I don't need anything perfect or amazing, he is a already a meme and I'm loving it.
Imagine he showed up earlier with some chest special appearances while gazing at/confronting a vengeful not so doormat heroine. I mean the chesty magical power of lakorny DaiDai could get a sappy below average Maid's Revenge more than 3000 comments on MDL (even some standard kdramas can't relate), put DaiDai on the map (he is the spokesperson of the bag's brand Luga and I am sure gets more money now to buy clothes) and even Maid's Revenge millions views on youku YT channel and some followers on twitter, tumblr during airing times. So imagine BR's PD was a smarter person 🙃
