Anyone wondering what happened to Chu Qiao's "cold martial arts storyline?" The end of Princess Agents showed her tattoo coming alive as she descended into the frozen lake. It had such a massive storyline in PA but completely ignored in Rebirth.... So odd! This skill was inherited from her Mom which would make her invincible.... Not a mention so far!

Yeah, I agree that he is suppose to be the ML, that's an obvious major flaw where he seems more like a supporting character. It almost seems like Li Ce gets way more screen time than both ZY and YX.

“What if princess agent is an idol drama?” I might say this was a thought from one of the producers.
Some might drop this because of the cast or the plot, or whatsoever reason. But I ended up dropping this drama because it was a constant reminder of how emotionally traumatized I was because of my first ever watched cdrama Princess Agents. That Alter scenes, their imprisonment in a shabby courtyard, Xing'er tortures, Chu Qiao's hope war, Yan Xun's betrayals to A'chu, and Yuan Chun tragedies are replaying in my brain since 8th of April till today. sigh!!!

PA was goat, no cdrama can out throne it. HYTT was not a bad choice to play chu Qiao sincerely, After I watched XM in Fated Hearts as a delusional princess I already have it in my mind that she could nail princess Chun'er too. Any actor could outperform performance of LGX so LYR is a suitable choice though I haven't watched his arc before dropping this. ZKL as YAN XUN was dumpster, was that really supposed to be bloody revenge driven Yan Xun? failed miserably!!!
for me, PA was Zhao Liyin Shawn Dou, and Li Qin.

I have really been missing user contributed articles like this! Loved it!

At a Distance Spring is Green is where I noticed Park Ji Hoon's acting skills. I was so mesmerized. I never thought I'd watch another school/youth drama again. But the drama is actually quite underrated, a serious drama.

He did the dual role in Love Song for Illusion flawlessly. I saw he took risks with the fighting and horseriding scenes. (Also saw he got injured at some point). It's not his fault that the writing of the drama went haywire in the second half.

I feel this article came right on time to give us some good feelings about MDL as a whole gain!

You are not lying about his "Soulful Eyes". I first saw him in "At a Distance, Spring Is Green" and been hooked ever since! Also, I did not know he was a child actor, let alone a Kpop singer. I am forever a fan!

Idk y’all, I’m actually having fun with this 😭✨ maybe because my expectations were low lol
The leads definitely have the range—I’ve seen them deliver when given the right material—but hey, rent is due and bills don’t pay themselves 💀 and for what this type of drama is, it’s honestly pretty entertaining.
Yeah, it’s extra. Yeah, the budget is… doing its best. And sure, the humor can get a little cringe here and there—but I’ve seen way worse lately, so I’m not mad at it. I’m just here for the ride, it's not that deep ✨

Huh? He peaked 10-15 years ago lol. Now, all his shows flopped. Overrated. Mid acting
His commercial value is biggest amongst all actors. Infact he is only second to BTS. 😂
Mid acting or bad acting, it doesn't change the fact that he is the most popular Korean actors worldwide right now.

I know this has already been said a hundred times on this page, so sure, add this to the pile but casting an underage…
fr and some people are defending this. PA was popular for the chemistry between the leads. How are they gonna give us the romance with the barely legal actress? if they do, it would be so unethical. and if they don't, they are robbing the audience who has waited so many years to get a sequel. and it's just feels weird. cause the FL looks like a kid next to Li Yun Rui. Listening to him talk about his feelings for her or any kind of interaction just feels weird.

I know this has already been said a hundred times on this page, so sure, add this to the pile but casting an underage girl opposite a full-grown adult is still wildly inappropriate. And let’s be real, it didn’t just raise moral red flags it clearly watered down the storyline. You can feel how much they will tiptoe around the romance to make it “acceptable,” which will just ends up making everything awkward and half-baked.

What’s actually ridiculous is that this is an industry where 30-year-olds are out here playing high school students every other day… and yet somehow they couldn’t find a single of-age actress for this role? That’s not a limitation, that’s a choice and a pretty questionable one at that.

I decided to watch another couple episodes of Rebirth against my own practice of only watching a series when it completes because I usually like to binge watch. I broke this rule with Pursuit of Jade and caught myself longing for the following episodes.
I'll clearly not have this problem with Rebirth. This thing is a trainwreck. The FL was greedy and tried to fit a shoe much bigger than she could, and so the two MLs.
As a refresh, I restarted watching Princess Agents and the difference is flabbergasting. It's watching a drama played by real actors versus one played by just idol actors who may need several more years of experience to properly act.
The Princess Agents' last scene, the frozen lake battle, is several miles apart from the Rebirth's first scene that tried to recreate it. In Rebirth the director even tried add drama by copying a Game of Thrones' battle scene where two armies faced each other and the corpses piled up, but in Rebirth he made a little "bonfire-like" corpses pile-up, which ended-up it a laughing stock.
The acting is horrendous and it's no wonder many are trying to convince who did not watch Princess Agents to skip it. Of course, the glaring difference will be even more emphasized.
Of course comparisons will be made, since this is supposedly a season 2 of a much superior season 1 of the same story.
So, I'll take a break of this thing and wait for the whole series to be released and then decide whether to watch the whole thing. As it is, this is just a 3.5/10 - yes, I am comparing against season 1 as it should be.
