She can't act!!! I've seen some of her works and all I can say is, she only gets casted because of her beauty…
I agree her acting is really, really painful to watch and it sucks that she ruins dramas she’s in. I really have to suspend disbelief with her dramas…her characters feel like they have no personality and in captivating the king literally all she does is look around with misty eyes every scene. I feel like she kinda tries but she just can't get it. It ends up being same tone of voice, same expression every line delivery, like a robot with some cheesy overacting mixed in. It’s even more obvious paired next to JJS whose acting is far and away superior. Idk who keeps casting her and whether it’s nepotism or looks or both, but I wish she’d at least try with an acting coach.

I didn't watch (don't think it was translated) but there should still be a thread somewhere below linking it and talking about it.

Unfortunately according to an interview with JJS the king does not know.
On Amidst a Snowstorm of Love Feb 8, 2024
Meh. First episode was promising. The second episode descended into typical juvenile cdrama tropes except even slower than usual. And the ML is so expressionless he never moves his face.

The main leads chemistry is awful. Park Min Young, a veteran, is doing all she can, but Na In Woo is awful. I…
I thought that too, they have zero chemistry.

Right? Cannot believe this is by the same writer as Hidden Love.

This episode has derailed the plot and looks like trainwreck in the making. I’m lowering the score now, cuz…
I haven't watched the last two episodes but the plot lost something and started derailing for me petty early on, after about episode 4, so I can't say I'm surprised.

Well that's disappointing. It's frustrating how kdrama writers these days take so few risks. They have to follow…
I meant risk as in diverging from the formula... it seems the appeal for all gender benders is supposed to be the whole "he loved her regardless of gender." It would be nice to see something different. And yeah the ML would have known she was a woman, but we weren't aware that he knew yet and FL wasn't either, so that would have been the secret.

Jo Jung Seok mentions that Lee In does not know Mong Woo is a women. He sees Mong Woo as a man even up to ep 6.…
Well that's disappointing. It's frustrating how kdrama writers these days take so few risks. They have to follow the trope, and in the gender bending trope the ML must always be unaware of her real gender. It's honestly ridiculous in this case. It's like he literally has eyes in the back of his head the entire time but they expect us to believe he can't see she's a woman.

Yeah this is my first time watching her act and it's the same expression every time, feels like her character has no personality it's always just deer in the headlights misty eyes looking around every scene
On Captivating the King Feb 5, 2024
Every scene with JJS is 🔥 🔥 the tension he creates is amazing like I can barely breathe when he’s on screen, it’s his suspicious, cunning yet hurt king mode and the tension between him and MW every time it’s like it he going to snap or what. He is doing so well in this role

Title Captivating the King Spoiler
Most likely won’t happen until towards the end of the drama.
I've since watched episode 6 and yeah, that scene definitely threw me. Sadly I think you're right but I wonder if the writer was going to take a different direction but they made him stick to the trope. There were some scenes before that that totally led me in a different direction. Oh well I'm still really enjoying it.

I miss the ML from the first episodes. Jo Junk Suk does a great job but i don't like to hate the ML. He's so mean…
He said it himself that he had to be harsh in his words to preserve his dignity as king. I can see he still has lots of soft spots and actually feel bad for him feeling like he can't let his guard down with anyone and not knowing who he can trust, even mong woo.

It hasn't happened yet but a lot of people think he really does know she's a woman and is just going along with it.

Jo Jung Suk is handsome, but he gives more mature vibe, not for everyone for sure. But drama is excellent, writing…
If looks aren't important then what tf are you on about bashing his appearance. You're a troll and a lousy one at that, can't even take a stance that makes sense. We get it already you don't like the FL actress. It's really pathetic you're wasting so much time and energy on something you hate, you're only embarassing yourself.

The writing is phenomenal and so detailed. If the writer does not have him having been aware of the FL being a woman this whole time, with how smart and observant he is, I'll be surprised and disappointed.
