I thought episode 1 was decent, very average. The overexposure with the cinematography is really distracting.

The only part that made me kind of side with that theory was when they caught a glimpse of each other when she was dressed as a woman, when he came to speak to her father. That was definitely a moment for them and it seemed like there could have been something there and possibly knowing on his part of who his "daughter" really was.

I normally don't like gender bending/cross-dressing. And I normally can't stand palace politics and schemes. But something about the production and pacing of this one is really hooking me. I'm loving it and can't look away. I'm hoping the prince secretly knows FL is a woman.

That's kind of why I asked for an explanation.

I'm not expecting a 9 but to me it seems anything below 8 for a kdrama is generally not a show that was well received.

Yeah, I fist noticed it when watching Worst of Evil on there. I assumed it was the production too. Someone on here pointed out that Hulu does that with their ads and sure enough it was the platform. I refuse to watch on Hulu now, it makes it unwatchable.

Are you watching on Hulu ad free? That's Hulu doing the jump cuts if so, they do that every time there's supposed to be an ad. It's ridiculous

The last two episodes the plot really slowed. They are revealing everything too fast IMO

Can someone explain why this is rated so low and is it worth watching?

It feels like things have been revealed way too fast. is that how it happens in the webtoon? ML’s secret to the audience and now Fl already knows too by the end of episode 6.

That’s why I can never get into gender benders except coffee prince because they pulled it off so perfectly. I’d have no problem with the king being gay but they make it so odd and up in the air like you can’t tell what’s happening…does it make him gay or does he love him/her because he can sense she’s a woman…?I don’t think we’re even supposed to know in most of these gender benders, just “assume” this feminine man is some kind of special exception and it pulls me out of the story.

This was going great until they had to bring in the gender bending, and not even remotely passable gender bending. They have the FL with a full face of lipstick, eyeshadow, and those brows...did they even try? This would be so much stronger if they'd left the gender bending trope out and FL was supposed to be perceived as female.

She does to me. And looking it up it turns out she is 40 irl. Nothing against her age, it's just not realistic and comes off as ridiculous to me as a 36 year old who knows most people my age couldn't do any of that without blowing out a kneecap.

I think the FL was miscast. Character is supposed to be a vigilante type jumping over walls and roofs night after night but she looks 40.

Instead of giving us these stalker vibes because he simply used to have a crush on her and missed his chance with her, I wish they'd been in a relationship that he could remember and she couldn't. I realize that wouldn't really be possible with the way the plot is but that was the vibe I was getting from him and his intense stares in episodes 1-4.

He/she probably did it themselves using multiple accounts. Trolls with way too much time on their hands do that all the time on here.

Whoever his accuser was, I can guarantee she was a netizen or at least had some kind of influence from them. Either for clout, slander, or like I said blackmail. They are all connected, this lynch mob of police, press, and netizens.
