So many interesting and unexpected writing choices in this drama already and we're only on episode 4. I have no idea where this is going but it doesn't look good. How could she ever forgive him and want to be with him after such actions? I feel like this is heading much more toward the revenge trope side of things instead of romance-centered and I think they will be foregoing a lot of that. So many opportunities for the writer to plot-twist us too...ie GP could have secretly known all along she was a woman, he could have a secret motive for what he's done so far, hell who knows, they could have this be his evil twin lmao... but sadly I sense myself feeling let down and GP will turn out to just be a very easily corrupted villain in all of this.
I'm not quite understanding the choice to have FL approach him again as male and the same mong woo he's familiar with. If she's trying to approach him as a "spy" (according to the synopsis) and to exact her revenge, wouldn't it make sense to do it as female, an identity that she thinks he is unfamiliar with? Eh. It's still a well done drama that has me hooked so I definitely want to see where it goes.
Everyone saying Prince Jihnan knows she is a woman but he does not or he wouldn't leave her to suffer and BLEED…
The only part that made me kind of side with that theory was when they caught a glimpse of each other when she was dressed as a woman, when he came to speak to her father. That was definitely a moment for them and it seemed like there could have been something there and possibly knowing on his part of who his "daughter" really was.
I normally don't like gender bending/cross-dressing. And I normally can't stand palace politics and schemes. But something about the production and pacing of this one is really hooking me. I'm loving it and can't look away. I'm hoping the prince secretly knows FL is a woman.
Are you watching on Hulu ad free? That's Hulu doing the jump cuts if so, they do that every time there's supposed…
Yeah, I fist noticed it when watching Worst of Evil on there. I assumed it was the production too. Someone on here pointed out that Hulu does that with their ads and sure enough it was the platform. I refuse to watch on Hulu now, it makes it unwatchable.
It feels like things have been revealed way too fast. is that how it happens in the webtoon? MLās secret to the audience and now Fl already knows too by the end of episode 6.
I enjoyed the first two episodes so far.FL looked too feminine especially with her makeup up to have passed as…
Thatās why I can never get into gender benders except coffee prince because they pulled it off so perfectly. Iād have no problem with the king being gay but they make it so odd and up in the air like you canāt tell whatās happeningā¦does it make him gay or does he love him/her because he can sense sheās a womanā¦?I donāt think weāre even supposed to know in most of these gender benders, just āassumeā this feminine man is some kind of special exception and it pulls me out of the story.
This was going great until they had to bring in the gender bending, and not even remotely passable gender bending. They have the FL with a full face of lipstick, eyeshadow, and those brows...did they even try? This would be so much stronger if they'd left the gender bending trope out and FL was supposed to be perceived as female.
??? fl is so so so beautiful, she doesnt look anywhere near 40 imo
She does to me. And looking it up it turns out she is 40 irl. Nothing against her age, it's just not realistic and comes off as ridiculous to me as a 36 year old who knows most people my age couldn't do any of that without blowing out a kneecap.
