Wasn't feeling episode 1 but episode 2 was so much better. Ahn Jae Hong...wow he is such a versatile actor. I've seen him before in several things like Be Melodramatic and I was definitely not expecting this lol. For anyone wondering there is quite a bit of sex and nudity
Some people like the age gap trope. It shouldn’t even be that big of an issue though, I mean they’re both of legal age so I don’t really get what the problem is. It’s pretty irrelevant. It’s supposed to be about their chemistry not their ages. I see enough older female leads cast in dramas that I don’t believe there’s necessarily anything malicious going on, I’d lean toward them casting for other reasons (sometimes negative reasons, sure, like nepotism etc) but I don’t think age is their priority as long as she fits the role…older FLs are well received by audiences in most genres. If anything I think this issue would be more of an issue among male actors who have to compete with baby faced flower boys. Dramas’ target audiences are women, after all.
One of those super rare masterpieces we are always hoping for, where everything falls into place - a gifted director with a perfect vision, uber talented leads who transform seamlessly into their roles, all combined with a brilliant script. And everyone else who worked on this gem to make it what it was. Bravo.
Overrated imo and dropping at ep 6. Very juvenile and so boring at first. Got a little better in episode 5 but still boring. No tension to the plot or romance at all.
I did not think it was nearly as good as the first season.
Like most second seasons it felt forced and contrived. Season 1 was a masterpiece but this season was like they didn't know where to go with it and it was all over the place. It could have been great if they'd picked up on Joonho deserting where they left off and kept up with that plot line and the leads' camaraderie...but the leads weren't even the focus anymore and they focused on political and military side characters, their family life etc. etc. and the emotions felt forced this time, plot almost non existent.
The age gap itself is not an issue but the fact that the girl is young and not as mature as him. If she was 23…
I thought she was incredibly mature, and also very independent. Not sure what about her was not as mature as him to you except her mannerisms when she was younger. Being emotional in love doesn't make her immature
I'm an OG kdrama watcher & I have watched a couple of Chinese dramas and never liked them not coz of the bad stories…
It wasn’t very well received but I really liked Murder in Kairoutei. I thought their romance had great chemistry and it was a mature drama with good acting. Also The Forbidden Flower is really good
I just want the writer to break the curse of Nam Goong Min where his female lead always dies. Hoping this kdrama…
Based on the opening segment it looks like they showed us what will happen, and everything right now is just a flashback - they showed the older FL in the prison and then the ML about to die before a sword fight as he remembers her. Hopefully that's not how it really goes down (I want a HEA as much as everyone else) but I have a feeling it might and I suspect the whole "meeting in our dreams" thing will come into play with special significance after a death.
This is so good, I might have to rewatch while waiting for new episodes. Especially loving the vibe, cinematography and pacing. I'm very picky when it comes to sageuks but this is one is doing it for me.
