I kinda get what you mean, while the beginning was great and had me hooked, the last 3-4 episodes have felt kinda draggy and repetitive. It's still good though. Getting a little frustrated that the FL still pretty much seems like she couldn't care less about Kui Mulang or Li Xiong. He has good chemistry with her (in both roles) but it's like she gives nothing back. Imo

Totally cookie-cutter romcom, very shallow one too. They relied on the all star cast to carry this for them but people want more original writing

I watched while it was airing. I and a lot of other people caught even worse hints that the writer dropped about his character. And his character was absolutely not redeemed. I suggest you rewatch.

He's just a disgusting fkboy, possibly a sociopath too. Even likes to tattoo/brand his women and he does not change. He and this drama in general are repulsive.

They really messed up his role here. ABH is more than capable of nailing complex roles. This role was a complete drag and whoever styled him should be ashamed, it's like they wanted him on screen just as a stiff pretty boy to look at.

I've heard it's because of government censorship, in case they have to change lines of the script.

How is the rating so low? This should easily be 8.5. People must be judging it on the first few minutes alone because the story itself get really really addictive and good.

His acting can get stiff in serious roles, he needs some humor like in Yumi's Cells or better yet action, even villain roles are great for him (Itaewon Class)...this role is too bland for him... I agree with you

I had the same experience with WIFTY and personally I think it's overrated just because people know it is the same author as HL. I didn't feel anything special with WIFTY.

There isn't a conflict per se, there is an age gap keeping them apart and the fact that ML is her brother's friend and a caretaking brotherly figure to FL since she was a child. They struggle with it feeling inappropriate to step outside those roles while also being madly in love secretly.

It is just a superb and perfect romance. Enjoy
