Is the OST lineup out yet?? Is TSY still singing these days? I’m hoping she might have at least one OST for this one since it seems to be big budget and highly anticipating.
They say the book is quite toxic so I hope this adaptation is rewritten better worth the 47 eps.

Me comparing Khemjira to Khom Khlang is really just about how similar some of the plotline is no matter who had written it first or aired it first, it’s not like I can compare it to Runaway since I didn’t watch that or in your words, not that many similarities?, or the past lives/fated lovers aspect, say Love Destiny since they’re not exactly Mae Kru/ Por Kru shamans helping out their fated lover from some kind of evil force aka karmic enemy.
I personally cannot name any single lakorn that’s plotline is ‘I am a shaman, who is helping my lover get rid of their karmic enemy’ other than certain tropes being used here and there like Waen Sawat or Love Destiny (the past fated lovers trope, or dedicating merits, spiritual), or The Sixth Sense series (white magic vs black magic).
It is clearly obvious and/or typecasted that way when certain actors appear in both series playing almost the same role, and singers like Aof singing the same kind of song like I stated above.
The GL version of Khemjira statement is where people are tripping up. I did not say Runaway is a gl ver of Khemjira but that Khom Khlang is. In saying that, it’s actually a loose term for me personally, bc the protagonist isn’t a policewoman with an established job or background like Peem is.

I hear you, Khemjira was the only one I watched that’s not straight so I was just referring to that since Aof is also singing here too. I was going to watch Runaway but decided not to after seeing some comments about the ending. What are the similarities do you find Runaway and Khom Khlang have?
Reminiscent of Khemjira, Aof’s opening ost, the casting of Mae Kru Bu Lan’s father and even some of the event sequencing is so similar lol. I think I might even read the book at some point too.
In all honesty, not bad for ep 1. The sanctum set up is pretty cool, the clothing and style is superb, very boran but I’m expecting just a tiny bit more with the chanting and akhoms, maybe it’s too early for that, the preview for next week seems to be a lot more intense with the rituals so I’m looking forward to that along with leveling up their fateful relationship status.
Chemistry wise, they’re still at the fighting stage. 🤣
I have no idea which scenes are different from the TV ver tho.

I think it’s a good idea to understand just why people are saying that this looks like a gl ver of Khemjira. It genuinely looks that way, there exist not anything other than Khemjira, and Khom Khlang with this specific trope, and scenes. There is however, books, and novels that aren’t currently adapted into a lakorn meaning more variety in what you can compare these two too, to which you can’t apply them anyway bc most people probably dont come to MDL to talk about novels and/or don’t know they exist.
I am not such bl fans and essentially talking to me is useless bc they do not apply, I have watched lakorns turn from their ladyboy days to jiejie’s, transgender and finally to gl.
I understand that the Runaway’s og novel author personally dislike these comments made about her book being that her GL is a gl version of Khemjira when her book was out first, but Khemjira shot up to fame and released right just before Runaway did. Most people gravitate towards bl and not many seem to be interested in the gl side.
All these lakorns I have mentioned aren’t nothing, one even ended somewhat the same way like Runaway did, perhaps I should go watch and see what this user is talking about,but most are just recs to show that I am an akhom, katha and magic fanatic that of course, ik the culture is written that way so it seems similar that way too.
