This isnt Khemjira. Thailand has been doing supernatural series for decades and if anything Runaway’s novel…
I hear you, Khemjira was the only one I watched that’s not straight so I was just referring to that since Aof is also singing here too. I was going to watch Runaway but decided not to after seeing some comments about the ending. What are the similarities do you find Runaway and Khom Khlang have?
Reminiscent of Khemjira, Aof’s opening ost, the casting of Mae Kru Bu Lan’s father and even some of the event sequencing is so similar lol. I think I might even read the book at some point too.
In all honesty, not bad for ep 1. The sanctum set up is pretty cool, the clothing and style is superb, very boran but I’m expecting just a tiny bit more with the chanting and akhoms, maybe it’s too early for that, the preview for next week seems to be a lot more intense with the rituals so I’m looking forward to that along with leveling up their fateful relationship status.
Chemistry wise, they’re still at the fighting stage. 🤣
I have no idea which scenes are different from the TV ver tho.
Is anyone making a page for the uncut ver? I’m watching this uncut and I genuinely have no idea what’s the difference. (Page is now live).
Reminiscent of Khemjira, Oaf’s ost, Mae Kru Bu Lan’s father and even some of the event sequencing is so similar lol. I think I might even catch upon the book for this one too and read it.

Edit: First blocked user ever 🤣 so I am forced to write here just a little bc I can’t re-edit that one comment lol.
I think it’s a good idea to understand just why people are saying that this looks like a gl ver of Khemjira. It genuinely looks that way, there exist not anything other than Khemjira, and Khom Khlang with this specific trope, and scenes. There is however, books, and novels that aren’t currently adapted into a lakorn meaning more variety in what you can compare these two too, to which you can’t apply them anyway bc most people probably dont come to MDL to talk about novels and/or don’t know they exist.
I am not such bl fans and essentially talking to me is useless bc they do not apply, I have watched lakorns turn from their ladyboy days to jiejie’s, transgender and finally to gl.
I understand that the Runaway’s og novel author personally dislike these comments made about her book being that her GL is a gl version of Khemjira when her book was out first, but Khemjira shot up to fame and released right just before Runaway did. Most people gravitate towards bl and not many seem to be interested in the gl side.
All these lakorns I have mentioned aren’t nothing, one even ended somewhat the same way like Runaway did, perhaps I should go watch and see what this user is talking about, but most are just recs to show that I am an akhom, katha and magic fanatic that of course, ik the culture is written that way so it seems similar that way too.
Ok unfortunately, I am broke so only up to ep 4 but it’s not bad, it’s ok, but I’m expecting more. Moreover, HJJ is quite fresh in the market (as in a PO), almost a disciple atp with little breakthrough scenes and powwow, and frankly, I am also really quite tired of this type of crime themed cases within the short drama world. Maybe it’ll get better as it continues once he’s discovered more links to his sisters case but right now, it could’ve been better.
My one true regret the drama didn’t adapt from the book is still the rain scene WS rode his horse to catch up to MM who fled his house after she learnt he was reading all her notes and couldn’t let go of his hatred for the Qiao family after all they went through thus far. This was like just before the finale, 2/3 in, he actually thought she went back to her family’s residence because she left angry, and didn’t notify him but he rode the horse back in the opposite direction when he realised she only went back to his main residence.
I envisioned back then before TPoB aired out that if LYN were to film something, it would be this rain scene, him on a horse with a straw raincoat dashing madly in the pouring rain.
He Jianqi in this gangsta role hits a different spot to his usual romantic vertical shorts lol 😂
The visuals and style are absolute fab, and I need to know whether LC can help take him out after his mission or at least, not dying since he did lose one hand.
As a doctor who’s most likely seen many things, or a Nour like the Inspector, why hasn’t he seen that one case of cement burial killing that could perhaps delete himself?? 😂

Some might not want to see the uncut ver, say something explicit so it’s better to just write it on that page.

I was actually even highly anticipating everyone to die. We need more.
HJJ is back in the game.

What a shame. 😭

I really really like that ep 4, angy kiss.
the pilot actually looks pretty cool
