Title Go Go Squid!
I'm halfway through and i'm honestly so disappointed. This drama is VERY overhyped. After watching Yang Zi in Ashes of Love, and her epic love story and chemistry with Deng Lun, I was very underwhelmed whilst sitting through this. Her character, Tong Nian, is very child like, and wotless.. it's annoying to watch as there is no depth to her and so far, no character development. Her relationship with Han Shang Yan seems delusional, immature and falls flat. A lot of their scenes are so cringey, I don't see/feel no sparks or emotions when watching them together. I don't even know what the storyline is or their purpose/reasoning for liking one another? I don't know whether to stick it out to see if it gets better or to just drop it. The male lead is hot though, probably the only reason I still try to watch lol. Realistically a 30 year old man attracted to a 19 year old who dresses/acts like a young girl is very odd.

Lol which eps you are?
I've finished it and wow this drama exceeded all my expectations. Lol need me a Si Feng in life to come sacrifice his all for me and draw on my eyebrows! The last third of the drama, a lot was going on which was blowing my mind. It was giving BL vibes too. And Hao Chen is just one of the most hypocritical characters I have come across.

I just finished ep 21 and although it gets better I'm still waiting for the wow moment. reviews are outstanding…
I'm at Ep20, and Hao Chen is getting on my damn nerves. So far the drama has kept my attention for the most part but doesn't have me invested like Ashes of Love did. I'm hoping it will get more interesting in the next 2/3 of the drama coz this came highly recommended. The FL also needs to hurry mature/develop her senses and understanding of feelings because it's annoying to watch a wotless FL (but I understand that this must be part of her character development).

I'm such a Bella fan, esp since this is her reunion lakorn with Pope, so it disappoints me to say that I just couldn't get into it. I've tried watching it like 3 times now.. I keep losing interest and end up dropping it. I think the storyline is just too 'nao' (trashy) for me.. like its overly trashy that half the time i'm thinking 'what the hell am I watching?!' lol everyone is just batshit crazy.

Happy ending na?
Yes eventually they had a happy ending :) but went through A LOT to get there so viewers will feel frustrated.

I literally watched this day and night for like 5 days straight because the drama became my crack lol. In the beginning it was cute and light, but don't let that fool you because this drama was far from that once it got going. An emotional rollercoaster ride. I finally finished it and whewww, it gave me all the f'ing FEELS. I definitely shed a few tears especially during the last parts. And felt my heart ache for the two leads. Xu Feng and Jin Mi had a tragic yet beautiful love story filled with constant misunderstanding and meddling from others. I personally didn't have SLS and found Run Yu's character very calculated, sly and disturbing (his constant obsession and selfishness to gain Jin Mi's love) and was a bit disappointed that towards the end, the leads didn't have more affectionate scenes together. I was rooting for Xu Feng from day one, his love for her was pure despite all obstacles. The actors that played Jin Mi, Xu Feng and Run Yu did an amazing job to portray and develop their characters from start to finish as all three had completely transitioned through out the series. I preferred Ashes of Love to Eternal Love. This story solidly held my attention and I felt more invested in the development of the leads' relationship.

Lol I literally started it coz i've been stuck in lockdown so have A LOT of free time to see this one til the end. Some episodes I don't care for but glad I continued watching, the love story between the leads is tragically beautiful :')

Personally after 20 eps in, it started picking up pace. I found it more exciting and wanted to always watch the next ep to find out what was going on. Although I think 63 eps is just too long for any drama. This could've been consolidated into half. The beginning is a bit slow but cute. For now, I've enjoyed this more than Eternal Love.

So i'm about 40 ish episodes in and I find the second male lead has been very calculated and sly in pursuing Jin…
And what an ass for him to go and seal the pellet in Jin Mi without her knowledge, as if to say 'if you can't love me, then you ain't going to love nobody!' dude is a psycho.

So i'm about 40 ish episodes in and I find the second male lead has been very calculated and sly in pursuing Jin Mi. I'm not sure if something has been lost in translation when they sub the drama into English but Run Yu often says to others (and Jin Mi) that him and Jin Mi love one another and share a deep connection to justify their wedding. Lol and i'm just like sorry from when?! Coz from what I can see, homeboy has been sitting in the friendzone since the start.

Y'ALL!!! I am speechless! Just had to come back and let you know i've just finished this drama and i'm at an actual lost for words. This was an incredible piece of drama that incited so many powerful emotions. The chemistry between the leads, wow.. it was so vivid, intense and beautiful. Both Lee Joon-Gi and Moon Chae Won did not come to play with their roles! They acted their socks off. I'm very selective about which korean dramas to watch these days (and rarely get a chance to) as I don't have the time or patience to dedicate to reading subs, but this had me completely drawn in from Ep1. The way the plot unfolded was so well paced, and never was there a pointless or filler episode with each one serving a purpose. #1 drama of 2020 for me. It has left such an impression on me! Also, the little girl who plays Eun-Ha is sooooo adorable, she pulls at my heartstrings and acts amazingly for someone so young.

I dropped all my other current dramas to focus on this one coz WOW! i'm nearly half way through, and this shit has me on the edge of my seat. The plot is fresh, exciting, and draws you in whilst the acting is superb. I've been watching Lee Joon-Gi since his My Girl days but this type of role really suits him.

Same for me. I waited 3 years for this drama and can't force myself to keep watching. Stuck around 20+ eps even…
I thought it was just me! I saw so many favourable reviews so thought I'd give it a go. I've not seen a drama with either leads beforehand so had no preconceptions. But honestly, i'm bored and cringing half the time at the acting. Even the storyline verges on being ridiculous because some things just don't make sense. Don't think I can force myself to carry on.

I'm on Ep 20 (and it took me a while to get here) and i'm really not that invested. The drama just hasn't kept my attention as I keep pausing and trying to come back to it. The acting, the draggy storyline and the lack of chemistry between the 2 leads hasn't been that exciting. I find the FL especially annoying. I expected much more from this as it had potential to be a good watch but think I will drop this.

When I first watched this 8 years ago, I LOVED it. I loved the chemistry between the 2 leads. I was really into the angsty melodramatic high school storyline. Its a superficial drama that focuses on the rich male, poor female relationship and had my young ass going through all the feels as I watched them fight for their love against all the stereotypical odds. Rewatched it again recently, and i've realised its real corny at times, but the type of flawed drama you can't stop watching. I still enjoy it 8 years on, but it seems like a guilty pleasure. I can't deny that storylines and acting in k'dramas has evolved since and there is much better content to choose from these days. Nevertheless, this one evokes fond memories of swooning over Lee Min Ho.

Been waiting all my life (slight exaggeration) for a Thai version so I don't have to finally read subs lol. Was a massive fan of Hana Yori Dango when it first came out (making me so nolstagic of my mid teens), and watched it religiously. Imo, it has been the BEST version, the chemistry between the two leads were unmatched. I couldn't get into the Korean version and dropped it in the end. Currently watching the Chinese one which is a bit all over the place, the acting is really over exaggerated. And it seems very immature but can't stop watching lol. From the trailer of F4 Thailand, the casting and production is looking promising. All the actors are relatively fresh new talent and good looking. Hope their acting skills match how they look. Now that i'm older, I don't know if these kind of high school love dramas will still appeal to me..

Just binged through this in two days, it had been on my 'to watch' list for a while and I finally got round to it. Initially, it seem like your typical Thai 'first love' high school drama. It was cute and heart warming, they explored the dynamics of growing up, friendship and experiencing first love during high school in Thai culture. Win and Fang are complete opposites, but you know how the saying goes.. opposites attracts. They fell head over heels for one another. As we got round to the university stage of the drama, things took a sudden turn for Win and Fang's developing relationship. It stopped being a 'cutesy' drama at this point. As frustrating as it is for viewers, that's the reality of first love and I can get on board with the sudden change in storyline as it is relatable. Relationships aren't just plain sailing filled with sweet moments, and theirs was tested through challenges and obstacles during a new stage in their lives. Win's behaviour was disappointing (I know a lot of y'all will be screaming at the screen) but not surprising that he would be attracted to someone new thats energy is similar to his. His world has now expanded, so will he choose love or be excited by lust?! I think he sadly outgrew Fang but at the same time, she is the definition of love for him and they shared a pure deep connection which he clearly cannot forget.. will he realise this before its too late? Fang's twist in storyline towards the end was a bit abrupt and felt rushed. To tackle such sensitive subjects should have had more development. The supporting characters were great and interesting, and like most said, were undeveloped. There was so much more potential to explore their storylines. Overall, a worthwhile watch, the drama explores the ups and downs of first love, the good and the bad, and the strength and meaning of loyalty and friendship. On a side note, in the synopsis it says Fang and Cheaw meet in France by chance again - yeah I didn't see that part in the drama?

I really hope they achieved their highest rating on this last ep as the lakorn truly deserves something over 6%…
5.6% ! They deserved higher, but well done them regardless.
