It was a lie.. because even without "the night" , SW knew about JS's interest in SH - didn't he tease JS in the kitchen in morning, didn't he feign surprise when he realized that every person in the house knew he is in a "Triangle" he knew...

SW's behavior was classic attention needs to be on me... him going on and on with every single person in the house as to how he is in a triangle... as if others are not or can't be, as if triangles are unique...... such a behavior can get very tiring very easily
